I believe the backstamp dates this from 1883 to 1913. Stamped in green on the bottom with Royal Ironstone China Johnson Bros England and Honi Soit Qui Maly Fense in an oval with a crown above it and a lion and unicorn on either side. Fantastic condition. Just some rough spots or shallow chips on the bottom of the pot and a chip on kiln spot on the underside edge of the lid- see pictures. THESE DEMITAASE CUPS AND BREAD AND BUTTER PLATES WERE MADE BY THE JOHNSON BROTHERS 100 YEARS AGO. THE UNKNOWN PATTERN FEATURES TWO CIRCULAR BANDS OF PINK ROSES AND DAISIES WITH SCALLOPED RIMS AND GOLD TRIM. THERE IS PLENTY OF SMALL CRAZING THAT COVERS THE SURFACES. THE CONDITION IS GOOD/VERY GOOD FOR THE AGE AND ONE PLATE HAS A SMALL FLAKE/CHIP ON THE BACK AND HALF OF THE RIM. IT DOESN'T SHOW FROM THE FRONT. THERE ARE GLAZE DIPS FROM AGE. MOST OF THE GOLD TRIM IS INTACT. CHECK OUT THE 12 PICTURES TO DETERMINE THE CONDITION FOR YOURSELF. THESE ARE VERY NICE COLLECTIBLE ITEMS. Antique Royal Ironstone China Johnson Bro England Chamber Pot Circa 1824
I got this antique ironstone chamber pot from an estate sale in Ohio. This was quite dirty and I cleaned it up some. It had a note taped inside that I will send along with it. It tells who it belonged to and has it dated 1824. One side of the pot has some black stains that look like mildew. It isn't pitted. So it's possible this may come out with further cleaning. With two rows of lovely scalloped design and semi-ornate handle, this is a wonderful display item. This piece is very old probably from the very late 1800’s, very early 1900’s, it has overall glazing/grazing which confirms its extreme age and adds to its stunning antiquated appearance that collector’s seek. This fine chamber pot measures approx. 5-1/8" high, approx. 5” deep, 9” across the top of the chamber pot, the base measures 5-1/4” across. Resembles the high quality of Johnson Brothers but no maker's mark. This piece is in very good condition. It has an interior rim diameter of approximately 6 3/4" ion size. The entire lid diameter is approximately 9" in size. The finial has a wonderful shape to it. A very nice piece if needed. This auction is for a Lovely Antique White Ironstone Chamber Pot and Lid made by Johnson Brothers of England. It is in Very Good condition. Especially for its age, which dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. There are no chips or cracks or stains or crazing or repairs in the bowl or the lid. The glaze is clear and white is white. There is a very minor grayish/silver"scuff" or lines in the top of the lid(last photo) It doesn't detract from the overall appeal of this Great Find. I am not certain of the pattern but the lid has a neatly scalloped edge. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches tall. With the lid, and 10 1/2 inches wide, including the handle. It has the Johnson Bros. Both pieces have beautiful pink and green flowers and gold trim. The lid does have a chip that can't be seen while in place. The pot also has a small crack around rim. see pics) no chips but does have some minor stains throughout as well. The bowl shows some wear underneath with some crazing and fleabites. The bowl also has what appears to be a rust stain inside, it's captured in the pictures. This set is oversized so I have to charge a bit more for shipping. This listing is for an Antique. Johnson Brothers England, Ironstone Chamber Pot with Handle. The pot features four embossed leaves rising up from the base and a leaf motif at the handle. The foot is scalloped. The bottom is marked"Royal Ironstone China, Johnson Bros, England" with the Royal Arms. The trademark was used from 1893 through 1913. The bowl measure 5" high. 8 3/4" in diamenter and weighs 3 lbs 5.7 oz. The piece is chip. Crack, crazing. fleabite and repair free. The interior bottom has some light marks from use and storage, but none notable without inspection. The foot has light wear. From Johnson Bros. England, this is a lovely lidded white chamber pot made of Royal Ironstone China. The lid has a scalloped edge on opposite sides and measures 9-1/ in diameter. The pot has a nicely shaped and detailed handle with embossed vertical lines on the bottom half. It measures 10" wide with the handle and 5-1/18" high. Overall height with the lid on is approx 7-1/4" In excellent condition with no cracks. Chips or crazing. Excess piece of porcelain under the glaze and a drip that occurred in production on the bottom edge. Please use the Zoom feature to check out the details. Don't hesitate to ask questions ASAP!
