Both ends have the pattern on the outside and the inside as well. The shelf has the same design in the center. There was a fresh coat of primer and a coat of finish on the table. When I loosened the screws to make sure it would come apart some of the finish flaked off to reveal what was the original finish. Gold or brass paint. To stip or not to strip. New owners job. Not now. I put 8 hours work into it and I stripped the fresh paint and restored it back to it's original glory. The top has 3 coats of black enamal and then a coat of matt finish laquer for protection. The top has a decorative brass ribbon screwed to the rim. this is a stunning adjustable heavy antique solid cast iron victorian vanity mirror. and can also be used as a frame if desired. it has an exquisite tri-footed base with nice scrolled detailing. with a scroll shaft and the arms are also beautiful detailed with bird head finials. right underneath the head of the arm is where the oval frame is connected and where it pivots. the frame is topped with a great dimensional cherub and has a nicely cut out trim which allows mirror to shine through the spaces. the piece is made from thick heavy cast iron. it has a newly cut out mirror so in great shape. the piece pivots and does a compete 180 degrees. it has a nice gold gilt finish with nice age. it measures 14 3/4 by 10 inches. The middle front serpentine shaped compartment unfolds to show a sewing pin cushion. As well as two sliding compartments, one on each side. A second drawer holds the chess pieces but this would also be. And appears to have been used as a nice sewing cabinet. Great well done marquetry and clean cut design show work by a superior cabinet maker. Probably a custom request. The chess pawns are all hand carved and have different expressions. This is a wonderful tiger sawn oak turn of the century table. With a split pedestal base, lion claw foot and a hard to find lion head incorporated ... moreinto the leg. It has rope beaded skirt molding on the tiger sawn skirt frame. We have taken this 44-inch solid oak top table with four 10-inch-wide leaves, and have skirted them so they match the rope braiding on the regular skirt and refinished the entire table. It has the original center leg, four leaves that are original to the table but we skirted the sides, and everything else is all original. It’s been stripped, sanded, stained, and multiple coats of hand-rubbed lacquer applied. The lion heads are those Gothic-style heads with the teeth exposed, and the applied carving has wood and gesso on them that is all perfect. The toenails on the claws become very pronounced against the octagon shaped base, and it’s all solid wood. The overall size is 44 inches round, and 30 inches high. When all four leaves are in, it becomes 83 inches long, which can easily take a set of six chairs. We are really please to have both found this beautiful table, and to have it all skirted out with leaves, because it looks better than the big ugly gaps that most people sell their tables with. EXTRA LARGE VICTORIAN FLUTED SOLID MAHOGANY PEDESTAL DINING TABLE BASE W/ LEGS
This is a very nice antique Victorian pedestal style dining table base. It is solid mahogany and has a fluted pedestal. It is stamped with the number 100 on the bottom. It originally had a 50" top, it measures 25" high, it is designed to have castors which would add some height, measuring across the center of any two legs it is 26 1/2" and the top brackets are 14 1/2" wide x 12" deep, the legs are 2 3/4" wide. Some of the hardware on the top is missing as you can see in the pictures. Overall it is in good condition, some scuffs, nicks and dings to the legs which you can see, no splits or cracks to the pedestal or feet and no repairs. It will be shipped with the legs removed to help insure that it arrives safely and to reduce the shipping cost, there are 8 screws to each leg and we will mark each leg and it's ... moreoriginal location for re-assembly. Offered for your consideration is a fine silvered metal newel or table lamp formed by an art nouveau lady in a dramatic pose atop a graduated black marble plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter. Due to the weight, but perhaps it's pewter. The lamp is about 40" high by 18" wide and has three attached hammered silver shades with crimson red jeweled medallions at the tops and beautiful beaded fringe around the lower rims composed of a mixture of clear and red beads. The shades are suspended from typically Jugendstil whiplash floral sprays. The piece is in remarkably good condition; I see no evidence of cracks or repairs. The beaded fringe on the shades is completely intact, with no missing strands I can see. The silver plating is still very presentable, although of course there are some signs of wear, likely the result ... moreof a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. I have not polished the lamp in the years I've owned it, as I liked the patina. The pictures make the lamp appear slightly more golden than it looks in person. That is probably because the reflective surface is picking up the color from the wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms where I took the pictures. The wiring was updated/replaced at some point and is fine, as-is. I have been using it without fear or problems. If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. This is such a beautiful long antique linen runner or table scarf. I picked this up at an estate sale outside San Francisco about 20 years ago. I'm having a hard time letting it go. It could be used for piano's. Dressers, tables or parlor scarfs. It would go into any decor such as Victorian, Edwardian, Shabby Chic, or Mission. It is, with fringe, 69" x 25" Looks like hand loomed linen(in its natural color) and soft medium weight. Not the nubby heavy linen of Europe. It has hand crocheted cotton thread roses and leaves in the popcorn stitch and hand tied fringe. There are no breaks or problems with the crochet or fringe. Very useable although has marks which would be commensurate with its age and use. The baize is probably original and is holding well although begining to fade, there is a split in the wood at the top of one leg which you may study from the photographs- this is stable and unlikely to cause a problem. For Sale- 19 th Century Mahogany Chippendale table and six chairs. The 54 inch extension table top is made of two pieces of solid mahogany. The tree that these two pieces of mahogany came from must have been well over 27 inches in diameter. The apron around the table is crotch mahogany veneer. There are three leaves; an 18 inch leaf with an apron also with crotch mahogany veneer. There are two 14 inch leaves with no apron. We have provenance to about 1900. But my research would date the table to Victorian Empire period—1840 to 1860. The chairs are copies of 18 th Century Chippendale. They are made of heavy solid mahogany stock.and are very sturdy. They are heavily hand carved. Part of the carving is the laurel leaf design which is repeated in the table pedestal and on each side of the lion’s paw carved feet. There are 4 side chairs and two ... morearm chairs. One of the arm chairs has some damage but can be easily fixed. The set has been stored for years. I used Murphy’s Oil soap on two of the chairs and they turned out to my satisfaction. Most folks would elect to refinish the table top to get the full effect of the mahogany grain pattern. The large leaf has some water damage in the varnish but it is straight and sturdy—no warping. There is some of the crotch mahogany veneer missing on the apron of the large leaf. Here i have the most wonderful rare victorian cut glass and solid silver lid dressing table set. has the most ornate scrolling on the lids with no inscription these would not look out of place in a manor house they are that good the condition is prestine they are immaculate no dints to the silver or any type of dents whatsoever. made by Thomas Diller in London date 1841 weigh in total a massive 665 grams the lids alone weigh 115 grams one of the trinket boxes measure 19cm by 5cm& is 4cm in height the other is 13 1/2cm by 4 1/2cm& 4cm in height the two Jars are 5cm in diameter& 4cm in height all peices except the largest have cut glass undersides and the jars superbly cut all the way around. every peice is hallmarked and all are the same year and in a set. these are the best dressing table set i have yet to see on ebay or anywhere ... morefor something like glass and silver to have lasted this long and look in this condition amazes me. the winning bidder will be truly delighted. many thanks for looking.
