A couple of my clients bought cameras and camera equipment from a collector at an estate sale recently. So I will be listing many cameras. Equipment, parts, some of them from his Leica collection. Happy to combine shipping if you win multiple items. I have some experience with cameras but not so much these antique ones. This is an interesting little tripod. The legs are in a row but swing out to form the steady base, it says only Made in Germany on the side. The tightening screw works fine. The legs do pull out quite a ways and look like brass, and each section has a little button to push in to shove them back in. I couldn't get them all to come out the same distance so not sure if they are all working completely, I just didn't want to force them out and possibly damage them. Or possible copper or brass; the patina is such that I cannot tell for sure, but a magnet will not stick to it. Late 18th Century Plain dish-molded top over birdcage support tenoned over a compressed-ball pillar terminating in triform snake feet Item# 130002YRW19 This is a fine American Queen Anne Antique Tea Table crafted during the last quarter of the 18th Century. Probably in the Connecticut River Valley. Of wonderful form and proportions, this very attractive piece is pure and relatively undisturbed, the finish being the only change over the last two centuries. Characterized by simplicity and a compression of lines, the design carefully balances the visual weight of the spherical top and oversized birdcage by squeezing the baluster as close to the legs as possible, perfectly dividing the mass of the table away from the midriff. The top ... moreis a work of art. Crafted of two solid Cherry boards joined nearly seamlessly, it was lathe-turned patiently and with great risk to the craftsman to produce a raised molded edge of the solid. The cleats are affixed to the underside of the top with symmetrically spaced original and undisturbed screws, these flanking the birdcage box structure that allows the top to spin freely. The birdcage is crafted with complex and possibly unusual construction, four baluster turned pedestals joined into the square(unidentified, possibly pine) softwood top and through the cherry bottom, the latter tenons wedged with splints for a pressured joint. Four iron bars penetrate at an angle down through the top and are twisted under the bottom, giving incredible strength and permanence to this delicate structure. I am selling a beautiful mahogany(what we think is mahogany) tilt-top table that has been in my family for many years. I am not sure of it's exact age. Or if it is an original or reproduction. It is well-made, no cracks or nicks, nor signs of previous repairs. There are signs of normal wear and tear in the finish, which I have tried to show in the pictures. Rare Antique Folk Art Marquetry Inlaid Tilt Top Table
Offered for your consideration is this Early Folk Art Inlaid Circular Tilt-Top Tripod Table. This table came out of a very wealthy early estate. Who said the table was in their family for several generations. The top of the table has a scalloped edge with a design carved into it. The table has an outstanding detailed inlay on top, consisting of goats and some sort of flowing heart design. We are not sure what wood the piece is made of. It appears to be a birdseye maple veneer top with inlaid marquetry and a dark walnut base. The top is supported by a fluted and carved pedestal base with carved feet that resemble a twisted root design characteristic of Black Forest. The size and shape of this table makes this piece able to fit anywhere! The top measures approximately 20 1/2" in diameter and the table measures 29" tall. Definitely ... morean heirloom quality table that would make a fantastic addition to any home. I will do my best to describe the condition. The boards that fasten on to the bottom of the top appear to be crudely cut on an angle for some reason, we have taken closeups pictures that should tell the story. There is a few small spots on the top where the inlay is missing. Also, the shiney finish shows wear and loss on top of the table and could use a refinish job if that is a concern. However, it still displays well, having a nice antique, folky look to it. The tilt mechanism amounts to a simple board that moves forward and backward allowing the table to tilt. It features a single solid board top, hand planed carefully to create a perfect smooth surface. A thick varnish finish covers the entire piece, glowing on the top, with craquelure throughout the varnish along the pedestal and legs. Hand carved rails connect the top to the base, with a few remaining original hand crafted screws among later added screws. What a great looking table we have here. We are estimating between 1750- 1790 and we think it's on the earlier end of that due to the blacksmith construction of the catch(latch) Iron leg tie, and handforged nails. There has been obvious repairs to the legs and it appears that the feet have been shortend. Also seems to have been painted red at one point and black at someother time. This would lead us to believe it's not the original finish.however it looks pretty close to original. Measures 31.75" round and 27.5" high. Offered for sale is a Victorian Miniature tilt top table with a top decorated with mother of pearl. Hand painted flowers and gold leaf. Just picked this piece up from a local estate. The previous owner left the original price tag on the bottom. Which reads $250. They had a large collection of paper mache items like this one. The top board of this piece is paper mache, which is evident on the corners which have a bit knocked off. They are stable. It appears that this is a marriage between the top and the bottom, but it is so fanciful and has a great look, we couldn't resist obtaining it. Base is round. Supported by three bun feet. An octagonal base supports the tilt top mechanism. The cleats are supported by what appear to be the original screws. The painting is expertly done by hand. Rare Late 18th Century Georgian Chippendale Octofoil Tilt Top Birdcage Tea Table
Click for a slideshow of detailed pictures! Rare Georgian Chippendale Mahogany Tilting Tea Table England. Late 18th Century Octofoil top carved with fruit& foliage over fluted pedestal. Cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees terminating in ball and claw feet. Item# 120109PTE08 This is a rather rare form. Carved in the manner of Frederick Hintz tables, though absent of any brass inlay noteworthy in his works. The top is octofoil in form, featuring eight shallow dish spaces circling a large central dish space. A table of this form would typically be used as a dinner table, not for tea due to the oversized nature of the dished valleys in the top. Formed from a single piece of mahogany, crafting something of this nature was exceedingly difficult and likewise exceedingly expensive in the 18th Century. A work of this nature would be found ... moreonly in the finest London homes. Evidence of how it was formed is still visible in the piece, as you carefully look at the centermost point of each circular form- note the scar where the craftsman anchored his lathe to shave the perfect circle with raised molding. Each dish space is flanked by fruit carvings, each unique and different from the next- note the incredible crispness of each fruit, the attention to even the smallest details leaving identification of each fruit relatively easy: cherries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and plums. The table twists freely a full three-hundred and sixty degrees on the birdcage mechanism. Formed of four columns that through-taper the top and bottom, between which the shaft of the pillar comes through and is locked on with an angular through-wedge. This wedge is easily removed, allowing the entire top to lift off of the pedestal. The pedestal shaft is turned and tapers broader towards the bottom, deep stop-fluting around the entire shaft. Three cabriole legs dovetail into the center of the pedestal, exposed from beneath and actually formed such that no three-way bracket was necessary to lock the legs permanently in place. The kn

antique walnut mahogany tilt top table turned pedestal thick skirt period early
first off the pictures are really bad. The white spots i think are dirty spots on my lens that i can't seem to get off. at any rate, for auction is a wonderful early period piece. i expect it was made circa 1860 or so. it has a very thick skirt both high and wide. all original as far as i can tell, pegged together. tilts and locks perfectly. it is as solid as a rock and does not wiggle, wobble, creak, or move in anyway other that it is intended to do. the pedestal is a nice turned mahogany piece as well as the three legs. legs are drilled for casters but there are none in it, but it would require a short shank caster with sleeve. these are easy to come by should you want some. there is a large beaded molding along the bottom of the skirt. there are a few pieces of the beading missing but it is not noticeable. the top appears to be walnut, ... morethe secondary joist supports are oak i believe. it is not uncommon for these early pieces which are hand crafted to be constructed of several type woods. it is a wonderful piece. it is 30 inches wide and 29 inches tall without caster. any question please ask. i gave 700 for it quite some time ago. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck.

This is an antique chippendale style rotating tilt top table. We believe the wood is mahogony and is of fine quality.There are eight beautiful carved shell scrollings along the pie crust edges. The birdcage box is of all wood aswell. And there is no metal hardware that I can see. We think this piece is quite old, 19th century or even possibly earlier. Unfortunately we are unable to locate a makers mark to put an exact date or provenance on this piece. The craftsmenship and detail on this table is just remarkable. Table is sturdy and heavy and in good working condition. Table does have some minor wear due to age and use and will need a nice wood cleaning. Antique primative hutch bench tilt top table. Its a nice blue painted piece. Its in good condition for a table that has been used this much. It is good and solid and should last another hundred years. This is not a reproduction it has good age. It came from an estate in Brooklyn Connecticut. These tables are also refered to as settle tables. The dimensions are 48 inches long by 28 inches deep and 29 inches high witch is normal hight. The top just flips up and back to turn the table into a bench or settle. When the top is in the down position a wood dowel holds it in place. The table is what is called a scrub top which means worn smooth. It makes a great second table also because of being able to be a bench when the table is not needed. The scalloped top of the pie crust table is just amazing. Just a couple of marks on the top of it to report. I think the table is most likely made of mahogany. But you be the judge. The table base and top appear to all be intact. I see no repairs to the base. Hard to tell with the top. Based upon how made, but again all the pieces seem to be there. Check out the claw carvings on the three legs. The spindle bottom finial and then the spindles for the base of the table that hinges where the locking pegs are.
