The finish on the top does have some wear with light scratches and some other white marks. The frame of the table is solid and has no loose joints. The re are a few white paint rubs in various places that will come off with some cleaning. There is some colored paint or finger nail polish in a couple of places. The legs appear to have been mopped around the one pictured is the darkest of all four. The table measures approximately 35.5" x 55" and 28" tall. The leaves are each 20" to make the top 95" long. The top has beautiful grain and color and is edged in thick pieces of solid teak. There is a locking mechanism underneath the top that keeps the two sides together. I have 6 matching chairs on ebay in a SEPARATE LISTING. Provenance and Background Info A Chiswell teak extension dining table with Danish styling. This table would be from the early 1970’s I’d say and is in remarkable condition for its age. It features a butterfly extension mechanism that’s top quality. The extension works effortlessly and is inspiring to use. This technology was high-end in its day and these days is rarely seen. Most tables tend to extend from each end and the butterfly is becoming an“endangered species” This is because of the cost needed to produce such a mechanism. Chiswell Furniture has the same quality as Parker Furniture- ... morein dining tables anyway. In fact this exceeds the quality of most Parker tables because of the butterfly extension. This table suits virtually all mid-century teak dining chairs. The photos show it with Danish Deluxe dining chairs- a different maker but they match brilliantly. Parker chairs. TH Brown and obviously Chiswells should all match in with this teak table. The table extends and you can seat 8 in its extended state if needed. It seats 6 very comfortably when extended. The table sports a Furniture Makers Guild S1 Standards label that was used on quality furniture in Australia from the late 1960’s and well into the 1970’s. Modern dining tables can end up at the dump within years but this piece is still doing exactly what it was designed to do after 40-odd years. When you buy vintage furniture you can be assured of the quality of the construction. There’s no better way to invest in your home and reduce your carbon footprint. Condition and Dimensions As the photos show. This table in excellent condition for its age. It would be about 40 years old and is in remarkable condition for a table of this age. Listing: Danish dining set of 8 J.L. Moller model 77 chairs designed by Niels Moller and a model 62 Soro Stole dining table designed by Henning Kjaernulf. Condition: Fresh from storage. I have done absolutely nothing to these items. They are in as found condition and were stored years ago. From the original owner purchased in the 1960s. They are in amazing condition for their age. Chairs have some small scrapes and dings from being stored but otherwise teak is in gorgeous condition there are no breaks or cracks to any legs and no loose joints. Original leather upholster shows age from use and storage, the chairs where stored stacked upside down on each other and the leather bonded from the years and unfortunately peeled slightly when pulled apart. Teak dining set. Danish Modern. This just came off our last container from Sweden. It is by ALB JOHANSSON and SUNER. Designed by OEEKS, from Hyssna, Sweden. See photo of the markings on the bottom of chair. Hyssna is a very small town of artisans in South-West Sweden with a population of 638 people. This set is located in CHICAGO. The table has 2 leafs and goes from a perfect circle to a nice size oblong table. The table and all 4 chairs are in PERFECT CONDITION. Even the pretty blue fabric is clean as a whistle. Nice shade of Blue, original fabric. This set was purchased in 1961 by a couple who bought and furnished a vacation home in Hyssna. They visited one week a year and used it very rarely. Danish Modern Solid TEAK VEJLE BOLTINGE ULDUM Dining Table six chairs china side
This is a super nice Danish Modern Complete Dining Room Set. All of these pieces are solid Teak and in great condition. The table and six chairs are BOLTINGE. The table has two leaves that are self contained and each19 inches wide. So the table is 63 inches long and 40 inches wide and when the two leaves are added it is 101 inches in length. The buffet/ hutch is made by ULDUM and has an internal light. The top comes off for transport. Again. Solid Teak and really nice. It stands 75 inches tall and 64 inches wide. The base is about 20" deep and the top about 14" The side table is also solid Teak and is made by VEJLE. It is 28" tall, 18" deep and 53" in length. Its super nice also. Mid Century Danish Modern Adrian Pearsall Teak Dining Table& 8 Moreddi Chairs This is a very nice and original piece out of an older home in Ann Arbor. This is a Teak table that was designed by Adrian Pearsall(if my research is correct) in the 1950's/60's. It's not perfect but very nice. With the two 20" leaves in place it is 88 1/4" long x 48" wide. The top is very heavy and 1 1/4" thick! Minimal wear on the top. No deep scratches or gouges, chips etc.just some random faint"spotting" It has two leaves which are easily removed, sliding mechanism works smoothly. Each of the leaves show a faint"circle" possible a watermark or? The solid Teak base legs have a few"dings" from 50 years of wear but only if you really look(far above average) It has 8 matching chairs that are in very ... moregood condition as well. 4 Of the chairs retain the Moreddi label, four have had it removed. No tears or issues with the fabric. Some you can tell were used more than others showing light finish wear but again, less than average wear on them. This is a beautiful set that has been well cared for and just needs a new home. You could use it as it is(my preferance) or bring the finish back to perfection The table also has a custom protective pad. sorry for some of the dust and fingerprints in the pix) This is available in Garden City Michigan which is about 10 minutes north of Detroit Metro Airport. I am in the process of sanding down the top and refinishing the top surface. When I am done with that I will take some more pictures that will hopefully show the beauty of the table. 30 inches high 29.5 inches wide 59.5 inches long 19 inch leaves extend to make the table 99.5 inches total The table is structurally sound and has normal wear. It was used daily for 10 years. I have lightly sanded the surface and applied Teak Oil to refresh the finish. Purchased from alocal thrift/ antique store. I think it's Walnut but not positive. It has a very nice look and the wood is really in nice shape for its age. The table measures 38" wide and 100" long with the 2 leaves installed. The leaves are 20 inches each. The bottom cabinet measures 60 inches wide. 32 inches tall and 18 inches deep. The top cabinet is 39 wide 40 tall and 13 inches deep. This is really and nice set and is very sturdy. Normal scratches or scuffs consistent with a set this age, but nothing bad. The cabinets themselves are really cool. This set must be picked up by yourself or a shipper of your choice. I cannot crate or box any items as this would be far too much work. This teak dining table incorporates the usual efficient and flexible layout of Danish Modern design. With unique and elegant details which sets it apart from other tables. Designed by Henning Kjaernulf for Vejle Stole Mobelfabrik in the 1960's, this extension table has a draw-leaf construction where the leafs are stored underneath the main top. While many similar Danish extension tables have leaves that are visible in their stored state, this design utilizes a signature darker teak edge trim that hides these leaves. Recessed rails and profiled tapering legs rotated 45 degrees further highlight the signature edge trim of the table. The table top and leaves are constructed of teak veneer. The legs and edge trim are solid teak. The tables are in excellent shape both structurally and visually. There are the usual light miscellaneous scratches ... morethat are present on every vintage piece that is testament to its age. The wood has a warm aged patina and has been recently cleaned. Waxed, and oiled. Similar to many vintage extension tables that have mostly been used in their closed config, the main table top has aged so it does not have an exact color match to the extension leaves. I have loved this versatile table for several years now. But am moving out of a very large space to a smaller space, and it won't fit. I have used it as a desk(awesome and luxurious) to a dining table. vIt does seat 8 people, but 6 fit better. It was purchased from a Balinese furniture store in what used to be the Baker Hamilton building. If you know the Baker Hamilton building, I now know how old you are! ha Seriously though, this table is NOT Ikea quality. It is super sturdy. Johannes Andersen Teak Danish Modern Expandable Dining Table for Uldum Mblfabrk
This is a gorgeous teak single-leaf expandable table by Johannes Andersen for Uldum Mobelfabrik. Andersen was well known as one of the more prolific Danish furniture designers. This piece is unique in that it has a single leaf for expansion. It's design was ingenious. As seen in pic# 6. You slide the extension holder out, remove the extension and rotate it, placing the extension perfectly snug against the table(pic#7) and supported by the holder. It takes 2 seconds to do and is incredibly stable and secure. The teak grain in this piece is stunning and book-marked, shown best in pics#3 and 8. Each leg has slight scuffs near the bottom as seen in pic#11. There are also two very minor age related marks on the table top seen in pics#9,10. I have shown these with a pen to give a sense size. The table retains its original Danish control branding ... moreunderneath, as well as the makers mark. As with all Danish furniture, this is an incredibly well made and designed table. Approximate Measurements- 67" Wide(95.5" with Leaf) 35.5" Deep, 24.5" High This item will be shipped freight by one of several reputable companies. Plycon.
