NO restoration whatsoever has been done to this bar cart. I have only cleaned it carefully after removing it from dry storage. As you can see from the photos, all parts are in excellent condition, well preserved. I have personally owned this bar cart for 28 years. I estimate the cart to be a art deco to mid-Century vintage. Scheibe began manufacturing carts in 1914. But i have not yet found out what exact vintage this model is. the company today manufactures tv snack tray sets and luggage racks, no bar carts any longer. The table is mahogany with birch inlay and mahogany veneers. It has a fifth leg that swings open to support the top and is probably from New England. The table is 36" wide by 18" deep by 30" high closed. Opened it is 36" across by 29" high. It was once a gorgeous table but has some significant problems as follows: the top is warped and there have been some rather sloppy repairs. Mostly done with a shellac stick. 18th Century English Antique Federal Chippendale Mahogany Tilting Tea Side Table

Description: This listing is for a Very Fine English Chippendale Period Highly Figured Mahogany Slipper Foot Tilt Top Tea Table. Circa 1760. It features a single solid board top, hand planed carefully to create a perfect smooth surface. A glowing deep patina shines through the finish of the entire piece; truly the magesty of this piece is found in the way this wonderful finish brings all parts together. Hand carved fully original rails connect the top to the base, with four hand made screws that appear to be original, and two later replaced screws attaching the rails to the original top. A replaced brass catch on the underside of the table top functions fully to secure the table in a resting postion; the shape of the original ... morebrass catch was circular, still evident as an impression around the current catch. The pedestal tenons through the square base. With the letters"DL" still visible at the tenon and in photos below. These could possibly be a signature of the master craftsman who designed this table. The pedestal is carefully turned shaft ending in a carved urn design, then locking into the legs with tight dovetail joints. Heavily patinated cabriole legs curve down and terminate in simple oval slipper feet. This is a fine piece for any home. Working easily in so many scenarios within your home. In the upward tilted position, it is ideal to bring beauty to that empty corner or fill a long wall with two chairs on either side. It is functionally excellent in the down table position as a tea table or common side table, bringing elegance to any collection of furnishings. In rare condition, with a very deep glowing patinated finish and in almost entirely original state, this is an outstanding find for the collector and designer alike. The top shows a few very small finish blemishes(it is an untouched 200 plus year old finish) that will be covered in as soon as we apply the tinted wax and buff it out. Rare Late 18th Century Georgian Chippendale Octofoil Tilt Top Birdcage Tea Table
Click for a slideshow of detailed pictures! Rare Georgian Chippendale Mahogany Tilting Tea Table England. Late 18th Century Octofoil top carved with fruit& foliage over fluted pedestal. Cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees terminating in ball and claw feet. Item# 120109PTE08 This is a rather rare form. Carved in the manner of Frederick Hintz tables, though absent of any brass inlay noteworthy in his works. The top is octofoil in form, featuring eight shallow dish spaces circling a large central dish space. A table of this form would typically be used as a dinner table, not for tea due to the oversized nature of the dished valleys in the top. Formed from a single piece of mahogany, crafting something of this nature was exceedingly difficult and likewise exceedingly expensive in the 18th Century. A work of this nature would be found ... moreonly in the finest London homes. Evidence of how it was formed is still visible in the piece, as you carefully look at the centermost point of each circular form- note the scar where the craftsman anchored his lathe to shave the perfect circle with raised molding. Each dish space is flanked by fruit carvings, each unique and different from the next- note the incredible crispness of each fruit, the attention to even the smallest details leaving identification of each fruit relatively easy: cherries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and plums. The table twists freely a full three-hundred and sixty degrees on the birdcage mechanism. Formed of four columns that through-taper the top and bottom, between which the shaft of the pillar comes through and is locked on with an angular through-wedge. This wedge is easily removed, allowing the entire top to lift off of the pedestal. The pedestal shaft is turned and tapers broader towards the bottom, deep stop-fluting around the entire shaft. Three cabriole legs dovetail into the center of the pedestal, exposed from beneath and actually formed such that no three-way bracket was necessary to lock the legs permanently in place. The kn

The entire item measures 3.5 inches wide at it's widest point and 4 inches high. The item has no cracks or chips or crazing. The glass looks intentionally fractured but I'm sure this is the design and is called crackle glass. It certainly isn't a flaw and the item remains in GORGEOUS CONDITION I would rate this items overall condition at 9.5 out of 10 As with all my items. It's just a very small& petite"tea table" that made it's way out of England. It's small. Super cute and has been around for a long, long time. Most of this type and size of table was used at"tea time" in England. They would be set up for"tes& crumpets" then taken down and set aside until needed again. because of it's small& petite size, it could go in any room of your home. It could be used as an end table, side table or window table. It's a neat item that would add interest& charm to any room in your home. It has a dark reddish mahogany patina to it. English George III Chippendale Late 18th Century Mahogany Tilting Side Tea Table
Very Fine English Chippendale Period Highly Figured Mahogany Slipper Foot Tilt Top Tea Table Third quarter of the 18th Century. C. 1750-70 Item# 110005LHP25 The grace of this piece is found in the highly figured top. A single solid plank of mahogany hand planed carefully to create a perfect smooth surface. A glowing deep patina shines through the years of waxed layers preserving the entire piece. Hand carved fully original cleats connect the top to the base, with four hand made screws that appear to be original, and two later replaced screws attaching the cleats to the original top. A replaced brass catch on the underside of the table top functions fully to secure the table in a resting postion; the shape of the original brass catch was circular, still evident as an impression around the current catch. The pedestal tenons through the square ... morebase. With the letters"DL" still visible at the tenon and in photos below. These could possibly be a signature of the craftsman who designed this table. The pedestal is carefully turned shaft culminates in a vasiform baluster, the three legs locking into the shaft with tight dovetail joints. The cabriole leg form is tight and sprung, the table almost poised to leap; the lines curve down and terminate in sharp well formed oval slipper feet. This is a fine piece for any home. Working easily in any number of design scenarios. In the upward tilted position, it is ideal to bring beauty to that empty corner or fill a long wall with two chairs on either side. Naturally, it functions wonderfully as a tea table or common side table, bringing elegance to any collection of furnishings. In very fine condition, with a deep glowing patinated finish and in a well preserved state, this is an outstanding find for the collector and designer alike. Antique 19th C. Chippendale Style Carved Mahogony Tilt Top Tea Table (LARGE)
This is an antique chippendale style rotating tilt top table. We believe the wood is mahogony and is of fine quality.There are eight beautiful carved shell scrollings along the pie crust edges. The birdcage box is of all wood aswell. And there is no metal hardware that I can see. We think this piece is quite old, 19th century or even possibly earlier. Unfortunately we are unable to locate a makers mark to put an exact date or provenance on this piece. The craftsmenship and detail on this table is just remarkable. Table is sturdy and heavy and in good working condition. Table does have some minor wear due to age and use and will need a nice wood cleaning. On the backside edge of a small section of the pie crust there appears to be some small repair as shown in picture. But is not noticeable nor taking away from the beauty of this piece. Colony Farm Antiques, is pleased to offer new debut fresh Spring 2013 listing, another very fine Benchmade solid Mahogany Tea Table with Candle Slides built in the manner of colonial pattern of the well known antique in the Colonial Wiliamsburg collection, reproduced by Kittinger and other companies, in the 1950's period for home interior decorating for those persons whose tastes favor traditional, classic styling in furniture. This is very similar to the two sold in recent weeks with a few minor design elements that are different, and shares many characteristics of the Kittinger and Wiliamsburg brands. The Tea Table is unmarked as per manufacturer. With exception of black ID stencil you see stamped underneath, very typical of mid century furniture makers. There is a tiny crumbling ... moreold paper tag with just remnants remaining, where I could spot, Solid Genuine Tropical Mahogany, as you witness in the deep rich patina and coloration only authentic age can bring. This tiny shred of information is actually very important, because the newly shipped mahogany reproduction Queen Anne furniture from Viet Nam and other similar countries flooding our markets today certainly looks very nice from new growth wood, but hasn't been properly kiln dried before cutting, and soon will yield large cracks after being in American heated homes in short order. I've seen enough in my time and travels to know nothing comes close to American made solid mid century vintage furniture when you seek sturdy, solid value and good design well made. Most products of this calibre and age might be produced in Kentucky, NC, NY, or Michigan best bet to call and based on what I've seen/collected/sold in 30 years experience. Tea Table has a dished edge surround top to prevent slippage of fragile display collectibles. With twin pull out candle slide arms that glide freely with end stops.
