This is a proof round commemorative gold medal from Iran dated MS2535 which corresponds to the year 1976 and was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Pahlavi rule. The medal is.900 fine gold with a total weight of approximately 10 grams(0.3215 troy ounces) and were minted by the National Bank of Iran which is shown on the reverse. The obverse design features the busts of Reza Shah the Great and Mohammadreza Shah Pahlavi. The medal is in a sealed plastic holder which appears to be the original holder as issued.
