Up for auction is this pair of teak nesting cube tables designed by Jens Quistgaard for Nissen Denmark. Tables are constructed of 3/4" thick solid teak wood with finger-jointed corners. Single table measures 14 5/8" wide by 14 7/16" deep by 14 3/8" tall with a 7 7/8" diameter hole on each side. Tables nesting together measure 14 5/8" wide by 14 7/8" deep by 14 1/2" tall. One table retains the original Nissen Denmark label with a manufacture date of January 1983. Both tables are in newly refurbished excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks or splitting. The inside portion of the legs have some rubs(see pictures) I don't believe it affects the overall appearance of the tables. They are ready to be used. I also have a single table that is available. This matching pair of 1960's bright orange'spaghetti' spum lucite lamps are something to behold and are very hard to find. These lamps are 3-way lamps. With a'nightlight' bulb inside the globe that can either be off or turned with the bulb on top, or by itself, which is very cool(one of the switches has to be'coaxed with' a little for light to stay on) They have brushed brass bases, necks and hardware which is free of any noticable scratches or dents, although the lacquer coating has'pitted' and the brass in those spots has a dark patina(see pic's) The spaghetti glabes, which are 12" in diameter, are in pristine condition with no appearant damage. DESCRIPTION You are bidding on a pair of vintage mid century modern danish end tables with cane bottoms. They are made by Hammary. The dimensions of each are 20" width x 28" depth x 22" height and weight is 18 pounds each. They are in great structual shape just a few minor flaws. and have been sitting in a closed up home for years so they so need minor cleaning. On the back of one leg there is a small ding. But can easily be covered and on the tops there are a few scratches(see pics) the bottom shelf also has a minor scratch. All of these are an easy fix with a scratch cover which I could have easily done before listing but I wanted buyer to see all flaws. We are pleased to offer this exceptional pair of antique nightstands or side tables. This pair dates to around 1940. They are made of mahogany and have been painted white and distressed. The pair are elegant and sleek with a low profile. They feature a two tier design with open backs. They are French styled. Art Deco era, and have elongated lower sections with curved fronts. There have decorative square, raised wood pieces on the skirt of the lower tier. These have been left in the original finish to contrast with the paint. The legs are lovely in Duncan Phyfe style. The center leg column has also been left in the original finish. The table has ornate brass touches as well. There are lion face"door knocker" style pulls on each side between the two tiers. Hand carving in solid quarter sawn oak shows superior craftsmanship- artistic detailing. Graceful curves and raised and shaped panels. The original finish is very well preserved on all sides of this European furniture. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm honeyed patina.
