We are pleased to offer this fine pair of Mid Century nightstands or accent/side tables. The pair are crafted of solid wood and feature French. Louis XV style. They are a tiered design with an upper drawer and a lower shelf. The pair have curved front profiles and cabriole legs. The drawer has a large or ornate pull on the bowed front. A window pane/recessed panel is featured on each of the concave sides of the drawer front. The pair have BEAUTIFUL marble tops from Portugal. The tops are cut to perfectly match the curvature of the table tops. The marble is a rouge beige color with ruddy brown(a little red in the undertones) color to the veins. The marble is of the same slab as the colors are identical, but, you can tell that the vein patterns are different. No doubt, the slab had a varied pattern. This gives the pair a matched but interesting ... morelook. The tops sit freely on the tables and over extend the tables in size. The marble is stamped"W&Z Portugal" The tables are not marked. The pieces are in very good condition. They retain their original, golden pecan finish. There are some minor scuffs and surface scratches but, nothing distracting or severe. The marble is very good with no chips, cracks, etc. There are very minor and very light surface scratches that are practically unnoticeable. This is a very nice pair of Mid Century nightstands/tables. Please note that we have the matching sofa table listed separately. It is dated 1961. The pair each measures 23" tall. 21" wide and 21.75 front to back. The drawer is 15.25" wide, 14.5" front to back and 2.75" tall. Because of the fragile nature of the marble. 1970s SPACE AGE MOD French Light Up ILLUMINATED Plastic CUBE Pair Of SIDE TABLES
NOTE: This auction is for the illuminated cubes only. I'll be auctioning off the stereo later tonight. The two chairs are NOT for sale. Who needs a lamp when your table lights up? These great cube side tables are made of a durable thick plastic and are hollow. A interior lamp can be switched on and off at the cord to light them up and give your house the high mod style it deserves! I believe they are from the 1970's and most likely from France since the interior bulb unit is marked as such. See photos. Each cube is approx. 16 inches high. 15.5 inches wide and 15.5 inches in depth. They have small 1/2 inch plastic bumps on the bases that act as legs. They use standard bulbs, either old school or the new kind. I currently have 60W bulbs in there and they light them up very nicely without warming up the plastic. I suggest keeping the ... morelamp wattage in that range to be safe. In excellent condition with no rips. Tears or gouges. There are some light scuffs and a scratch or two but they are minor overall. There is one tiny pinprick area of discoloration on one side but it's very hard to see. I tried to take photos of two scratches but it's difficult to get detail in the shots of the cubes. I'm really in love with these and wouldn't mind keeping them. Is there someone out there who needs them more than me? Graceful pair of bedside tables
This antique looking nightstand has been in my possession for the last 5 years. This was one of the first pieces of furniture we bought when we moved here 5 years ago. It is a solid wood nightstand with graceful curves and a beautiful maple color. It does show some signs of wear on the finish but with a little sanding and a new finish put on it will look as beautiful as it did the day it was made. My guess is it is from around 1945 ish give or take a few years. The construction is solid and sturdy. There are two which look great on either side of a bed and make wonderful bedside storage as each has two draws with lovey hardware fore handles. On the bottom of each piece is the old Lillian Russell paper label. Each piece is ready to take home and use today. The flaws: It appears that someone a painted nearby. There are some paint"specks" on the tables. Please see photos. There is one thumb size paint spot in the back. You can't see it but please see photo. On one table it looks like someone has put glue on the table in two spots. If you put something on the table. You will never see them. Pair Of Witco Tiki Wood Carved End Tables. Manfacturer: Ron Hovde. One of the Co-Founders and artist's Bill Westenhaver. Witco started out as Western International Trading Company and imported South Pacific home furnishings items like Capi Shell Lamps. They also were into carvings that eventually evolved into rough cedar chainsaw carved furniture and Tiki's that most people know Witco for. The artwork and production plant was in Mt. Vernon, Washington and they eventually sold 15 million worth of Witco products throughout the world over a 10 year run in the 1970's. A lot of these pieces can be seen on Elvis Presley's Website at Graceland Mansion. If you search for the"Jungle Room" you will find a lot of these pieces that were made by Witco. Elvis Presley purchased a lot of this furniture by Witco in the 1970's ... morebecause it has a Polynesian Influence Theme which is reminiscent of his favorite vacation spot"Hawaii" Also this furniture can be seen on the television series"Madmen" Please note that all of these pieces are very rare and do not come up often. RARE PAIR ANTIQUE 1940s DREXEL FRENCH DEMILUNE NIGHSTANDS TABLES pre TOURAINE
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL and RARE pair of antique. Old vintage(1940s) demilune nightstands/tables by Drexel. This pair is from a rare collection called REVERIA CHERRY. The pair have exquisite lines and ornate, carved details. They are"open" in their design(telephone table design) with a single drawer beneath the open shelf area. They feature a bow front as well as a combination of concave and bow sides. There are carved floral medallions inside recessed areas just below the table tops. Carved shells accent the tops of the beautiful cabriole legs. The feet have large ball/sphere accents. The tables are of the finest quality with solid wood construction. The drawers have dovetail joints instead of staples or nails/screws. The finish is original and is somewhat unique. It is antiqued(glazed) finish which a cream color ... morebase and a golden chocolate brushed over the cream. I could not find any information online regarding these pieces. I called Drexel Heritage and was told that this collection(pre Drexel Heritage) was produced by Drexel in the late 1940s. This collection predates their very popular, Mid Century, Touraine collection. The two collections are somewhat similar but the Reveria collection definitely has a more elegant and authentic French design. These tables/nightstands are quite striking. They are in very good condition with only minor signs of age/use. The finish has some surface scuffs and minor chips which add the aged character of the pieces. This could be resolved easily if you so desired. The tables are quite sturdy and are structurally excellent. The pair measures 28.25" tall. The are 20" wide and 13.5" front to back. The opened shelf area is 8.7/8" tall. 14.5" wide and 12" front to back. The drawers have an interior measurement of 11.25" wide, 1" tall and 12" front to back.
