The glass balls in the feet measure 3 inches across and the legs. At the widest point, about half way up, measures 3 1/4 inches across. This table is not marked. Signed, dated, stamped or otherwise labeled. There is a small dark stain to the table top that measures approx 4inches by 2 inches. A darker spot next to that as well but not sure what that spot is. Both can be seen in the last picture. There are no major chips. Cracks or other issues to any part of the wood. It is possible this is a Louis F Nonnast table made between 1878-1888. I do not know much about this size. Style or age. If you have any information that may be helpful to identifying this piece. I would very much appreciate dropping me a line or two. Take a look at this magnificent piece! It’s a tiger sawn. Quarter sawn table– and I mean ALL over it– including the trunk, the legs, the claw feet, the rolled skirt and the top. It dates from 1900, in refinished condition. It has a split pedestal base with humongous claw feet and legs much, much bigger than normal, on a multi-turned fluted oversized column that splits in the middle, just like a Hastings, although I couldn’t find any manufacturer’s marking on this table. The table top is 54 inches round, with a rolled skirt, which means it isn’t flat but is concave, and really dresses up the table. The selection of veneer used on the top is the secret of this table’s beauty. It’s hard to duplicate this with solid wood, which is why they used lots of veneer back in those days. The veneer on this table top is in really nice condition, and there is only one spot you can see where there was a nick in a corner, which has been all repaired and is now fine. This table is all nice, tight and sturdy and ready for another 100 years of use, after being stripped, sanded, stained in a beautiful dark oak color that brings out the gorgeous grains, and then had multiple hand-rubbed coats of satin sheen lacquer applied for a durable finish that will last for years. Presenting for auction a wonderful antique oak Conrey and Birely Table with Barley Twist Legs. It measures 24 inches by 23 1/2 inches by 15 3/4 inches high. This 100 year old table legs may have been shortened some time in its life. The table top is quarter sawn which gives that nice grain effect. As with antique furniture the wood acquires a nice old patina. I think the top and side profile has some nice furniture making detail that shows real craftsmanship. The table top has a few scattered surface burn marks. At the end of one of the feet there is a little wood loss(see pix) but it is to the inside. It needs a little polishing or cleaning. It is very sturdy! I can see some books stacking up on it now. Founded by Jacob Conrey and Charles Birely. The Conrey& Birely Table Company was established in 1874. It was the largest exclusive centre ... moretable and library table factory in the world and had over five-hundred employees.T he Conrey& Birely Table Company specialized in a knock-down table which included a unique furniture leg attachment patented invention. This allowed the company to produce furniture using“knock-down” construction. A simple method that required almost no tools or equipment. The company’s name changed to the Davies& Birely Table Company in 1901. When Charles Davies became president of the firm. The company ceased trading completely in 1909. We bought this at Houston's exclusive Kuehnerts Mortons Auction gallery many years ago for around 1.000 USD. Very heavy carved solid oak no veneer. Is is oval standing 28.5 inches tall, by 45 inches by 38 inches oval. Seats 4-5 comfortably and not too big or too small. We like it for its size and carved features. Offered today is this very rare Hoosier Breakfast Set. Oak drop-leaf table and four matching chairs. This table and chair set is from the late 1920's to early 1930's. I found an ad that was dated 1931 in the book"Hoosier Cabinets" By Philip Kennedy that is very similar. This is a genuine Hoosier brand. See picture with label on bottom of chair. The dimensions of the table are: 23" x 37" with the leaves down. And 42" x 37" with the leaves extended. The chairs are complete with no missing rungs or stretchers. However. They have been repaired by an amateur and need to be properly glued. Two of the chairs have metal plates on the underside. This is a classic piece of American history. I would love to keep it. The legs need some work and although the top has been refinished, it shows some spots that are imperfect. This table belonged to my husband's Grandparents. His Mother used to eat dinner on this table every night when she was growing up in the 30s and 40s(she is in her mid-seventies now) The bottom has a plate that says 1932. It's mechanism allowed it to be stored with the table when a leaf(or extention) was not needed. It was called"The Watertown Slide. Set of 4 Lion's Paw oak table legs - possibly Hastings 1900-1910
23 3/8" high and 3 3/4" wide at the feet. Holes in the top of each leg are drilled and threaded for 5/16" wood screws. Legs weigh 7.5 lbs each. Total packing and shipping is $75. Legs were stripped and finished with oil based Minwax Woodsheen 12 years ago. Minor chips and holes as depicted in the photos. Nailed on ornamental pieces are 99% intact; one small chip on corner. This elegant dining set came from an Estate in Pebble Beach. Ca. It is believed to be over 100 years old. I can't find much information on the style or age, so maybe someone in Ebay Land can enlighten me. This group is oak and has a beautiful patina finish due to the age and wear. It is in very good condition and has been in the same family for years. The chair seats have the original upholstry tacks and most likely the original fabric. They are also in very good condition with some minor wear. There is a host chair and 5 side chairs. All have high carved backs and the host chair has upholstery on the back as well as the seat. Impressive solid Oak Dining Set consisting of a large Table with six(6) Chairs. A Buffet, and a Court Cupboard, circa 1940. We are pleased to present this vintage Dining Set for your consideration. Dating to the 1930 to 1950 time period. This American set is constructed of solid Oak with gorgeous Burl Walnut decorative veneers. It has an English Jacobean look with a Spanish Revival or Moorish flair, and is sure to attract attention and garner compliments. Hardware is original, with vintage KBC( Keeler Brass Company) drawer pulls. The set consists of the following: Dining Table. Two individual pull-out leaves give this Table enormous flexibility. With both leaves stowed. The Table measures 66 inches in length. With one leave out, the Table extends to 84 inches in length. With both leaves, the Table becomes a spacious 102 inches in length. ... moreIt is 38 inches wide and 30-3/4 inches in height. The Table has minimal age appropriate wear with no damage or significant problems. We rate the overall condition as very good to excellent(see pictures) Six(6) Chairs. Includes one captain(or carver) Chair plus five(5) side Chairs. The top of each Chair has an unusual decorative applied trim piece made of a vintage resin material(see picture#8) We at first thought it was made of wood. But a few spots are worn smooth revealing the true material. All Chairs are impressively ornate, with extensive carved and turned wood. The fabric covering on each is in good shape. We rate their overall condition as very good. Court Cupboard. A tall piece. It measures 65 inches high, 43 inches wide, and is 18-1/2 inches deep. It provides two spacious enclosed cupboards, each with a single shelf, separated by a drawer in the middle. Some water ring stains are seen on the interior shelves, but nothing penetrating the surface. Doors open and close with ease, and the door latches work properly. This absolutely terrific antique heavy carved quartersawn oak French Renaissance Revival parquet top dining table and eight chairs was purchased by it's current owner about 10 years ago in an antiques shop in Lyon. France and imported to it's current location in Charleston, SC. This high quality solid oak furniture was manufactured somewhere between the 1900 and the early to mid-twentieth century. In addition to the wonderful condition, the beautiful wood grain is highlighted by the highly detailed carvings and the parquet oak and burl top alongside fabulous heavy carved full size dining chairs with leather seats, secured with a complete set of decorative brass tacks. These chairs are particularly rare and hard to find with their full size dimensions and comfortable leather sling seats.
