Thick barley twist legs are one of the more prominent features of the nicer pub tables. This table features barley twist legs which are connected with an X shaped stretcher. The stretcher adds stability and durability to the table. Ensuring it will last as long as possible even when used daily. Draw leaves are another useful feature in antique pub tables. The leaves on this table easily slide out from underneath the top. Using the leaves increases the size of the table from 36″ to 60″ You can also use just one of the 12″ leaves if needed. The wood used to make this illustrious pub table is solid oak. The oak is heavy and sturdy. It has a dark medium brown color to it which looks great. The richness of the oak and the visual appeal of its grain make this one of the nicest pub tables we have had. The photo taken in the kitchen is the most recent picture of this table. The chairs shown with it are available for free. I think two of them are original, the other two need a lot of tlc. All reasonable offers entertained! We are giving this table an very good condition rating. The patina is lovely. And the wood is solid and sturdy. The table will function solidly as a kitchen table(it is doing so now) dining room table, or game table in any home. TIGER OAK ANTIQUE DINING TABLE / 6 CHAIRS COMFORTABLY SEATS 12 BEAUTIFUL
Up for sale today is a beautiful antique tiger oak dining table and six chairs. This table was purchased in the late 1800's/early 1900's by either my great great grand fa ther or my great grandfather(they had the same name) who lived near Chicago. Illinois. This one comfortably seats 12 and will seat more if you care to get closer. I do not know if the chairs are original to the table. They do match and they are the only chairs I have ever seen with the table, but I was not around in the 1800's. The table is in wonderful condition as it has always been used with the original. Thick table pads protecting it and a table cloth over that. My family ha ve always been non-smokers. So there are no burn marks or yellow marks. The table needs a good cleaning, that is all. The chairs show more wear as they don't have protection like ... morethe ta ble. They are still used daily. The cushions have been replaced over the years and are now a fruit pattern. The last picture is of the store label holding the table for my great great grandfather(or great grandfather) This label is still in place under the table top. The table was purchased at Carson Pirie Scott& Co. This is an expanding table with four 10" leaves for adjusting t he size. At it's smalle st. The table is 54" round. At it's largest. It is approximately 94" long. The pads are made in sections so fit whatever size you wish the table to be. Pictures show the table at its smallest. Its largest, and also with three leaves in place. The mechanics for adjustment work smoothly. There are wheels on the base of the table and it rolls easily. Please look carefully at the pictures. This table is well over 100 years old. In my opinion. It shows very minimal wear for its age, but it is not"like new" Please keep in mind that the chairs, having been used for these many years, show much more wear than the table. For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is a Beautiful QUARTERSAWN OAK DINING TABLE with decorative and ornate carvings. Please. TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS TABLE- IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING& BEAUTIFUL. It measures 48" x 48" in its smallest, non-extended(i.e. shortest form with no leaves) It comes with SIX 12" x 48" leaves which extend the table to 48" x 120" INCREDIBLY. When fully extended. It can reach a whopping 13 FEET 2 1/2" LONG! I am not clear on exactly how old the table is but would estimate 1880- 1900. The Leaves fit perfectly and work well. The Table is in overall BEAUTIFUL condition with a few table top scratches/ character marks(see photos) certainly to be expected due to age and use but nothing effecting the tables beauty. The Tables 6 Legs rest on rolling casters for ease of movement. They ... moreare easily removable or replaceable. The Table is 30" tall and I estimate(just a guess) it weighs. Including the 6 leaves@ 100- 125 pounds. I would say not all of the leaves are original based on grain pattern but it still looks awesome none the less. NOTE: The 2 ornate end leg sets are all one piece and easily removable by 2 bolts. I mention this for a couple of reasons. First. The Leg Sets are reversible and can be used either facing in or facing out. I have take a photo with the legs set each way so carefully examine them so you see this effect. It could be just a matter of personal preference as to how you would want to set it up but it is easier to have someone sitting in a chair at the end of the table with the legs facing inward and additionally there is some nice cared detail to be seen(see photo) when they are in this originally intended position. Also, I can dismantle the table for shipping, cost and safety purposes and it would save some space. RARE DANISH MODERN GUDME MOBELFABRIK HUGE OAK DINING TABLE 9 FEET!
This is a gorgeous and very hard to find Gudme Mobelfabrik made in Denmark table. It is golden oak. Much less common than the standard teak danish modern tables he created, and it has traditional column legs instead of the more common curved legs. The table top needs refinishing due to some staining and wear, but the rest of the table including the pull out leaves on each end are in very good condition. Dimensions are 37" across, 29" tall, 5' 3" long, and 9 feet long with both self enclosed extending leaves pulled out. This would be quite a statement piece for any danish modern furniture collector. Vintage ASHLEY Solid Oak Wood Dining Room Pedastal Table Floral Tile Insert Top Modern Round Oblong 48" in diameter without the leaf. 48" x 66" with the leaf in as shown in the pictures. This is a 1989 ASHLEY Table. Marked on Bottom. Leaf mechanism works beautifully. Colors are White tiles and pale blue/grey floral pattern. Overall nice Solid Heavy Table. See pics for condition. A few minor cosmetic issues that are very hard to see but they are there and are All shown in the last 3 pics: 1 tiny hairline crack on one tile. It is barely noticeable at all, 1 tiny chip on the edge of one of the tiles, and one spot where the grout is missing. All minor issues. Some areas of the wood finish is worn a bit. A few minor cosmetic issues that are very hard to see but they are there and are All shown in the last 3 pics: 1 tiny hairline crack on one tile. It is barely noticeable at all, 1 tiny chip on the edge of one of the tiles, and one spot where the grout is missing. All minor issues. Some areas of the wood finish is worn a bit. Oak Dining Set, Heavily Carved, European French Country-Table and 6 Chairs
First off. We are not furniture dealers. This beautiful antique set has graced our home for over 20 years. Time goes by and we are downsizing, so it's important to us that this set end up with someone who will appreciate its beauty and respect its workmanship as much as we do. We bought this set as a favor to a friend. We do not know how old it is or where it was manufactured. Dealers selling similar pieces on Ebay have used the description Vintage French Country. What we do know is that this piece is very well built. It's all tongue and groove. This set is solid oak with a medium finish. The parquet top is solid. Not veneer. The piece is heavily carved with gorgeous detail. The legs are curved with carved detail. Pictures do not do this set justice. The flaws mentioned are mostly hardly noticeable. We mention the bumps and bruises ... moreso that somebody is not expecting a flawless set. However we highly encourage personal inspection of these items to see for yourself. The dining room set consists of: Dining Table with 2 built-in pull-out extensions and 4 chairs. Extensions slide under the table top when not in use. Table top is solid parquet. Dimensions are: Length 62 1/2" Total Extended Length 108 1/2" 9 ft long) Width 35" Height 30 3/4" 6 Chairs 19" to the seat. Back 40" tall. Carved detail on chair back and front legs.
