Great example of California mid-century design. Very nice and original dining set from the California furniture manufacturer. Vista of California, from the 1950's. It consists of a very rare Mahogany ribbon topped table with foldable ends to accompany more or less people or to be pushed against a wall. The flexible nature of the table makes it perfect for any size home or apartment- from large home to small apartment in a snap just by collapsing one side or both. The legs are black iron and move inward if you want one side or both sides folded down. The top is in original condition with some use showing. There are two veneer pieces on the top that are missing but they are with the grain. Some veneer chips/scratches on the side but nothing bad at all. As you can see, the graining is quite nice. These tables were mostly seen in white formica. ... moreThis is a beautiful Mahogany version. The sides of the table also are slightly angled inward. The chairs have their original orange vinyl and need redoing. A very inexpensive job. Two of the chairs have Vista labels. The chairs are seen every so often, but the table is not seen very often. If you want more chairs that go with this Vista line, they can be found on occasion on Ebay or Craigslist but four is what it came with. The table is 72 inches long and 36 inches wide in the center. I can ship this via Greyhound lines with the chairs going separately unassembled for a $150 flat fee. Or free local pick-up. Pair of late 50's table lamps. makers mark on plaster see pics much confusion exists about the name of the company and no one seems to know for sure what the F.A.I.P stands for but all agree the origin is Brooklyn NY. As some of these still had tags marked as such. what we do know for sure. They are genuine mid century lamps and come from a family members home and have been there since 1960 at least. the plaster part of the base is painted in a deep mustard gold& orange and has a few nicks in it. With exception to the flea bite I put in the corner of the base(see photograph) The piece is otherwise in excellent condition. The carving depicts a seated figure holding knees. The piece measures approximately 5 inches tall with base(13cm) x 3 inches wide(7.5cm) x 3/4 inch thick(2cm) There is an original foil label on the back indicating that the carving is natural marble, and there is an"illi" felt attached to the bottom. I have tried finding information about this artist or studio via the Internet without luck, but an interesting object d'arte nevertheless. This item is being sold in as-is condition. The plastic legs have brass tips and are tapered in the Danish Modern style. This table measures 21 inches deep x 19 inches wide x 23 1/4 inches high overall. The bottom tier measures 15 3/4 inches high. This table is in very good vintage condition with normal wear and tear for its age. The legs will be removed for safer and more cost effective shipping. The top surface has typical wear, some indentations and light scratches all indicative to its age and use. The top surface is not original, does not have a poly finish, has a waxed top surface, is nice and smooth. There are some surface scratches. But no chips or cracks. RARE VINTAGE TEPCO MONTANARI SIGNED ENAMEL TOP TABLE 4 RETRO MID CENTURY CHAIRS OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A RARE VINTAGE TEPCO PORCELAIN ENAMEL TABLE SIGNED BY MONTANARI. WITH SPRING LOADED LEAVES EXTENDED. IT MEASURES 44" X 40" AND STANDS 31" TALL. WHEN THE LEAVES ARE CLOSED, THE TABLE MEASURES 24" X 40" THE DESIGN IS FANCIFUL BLACK ON WHITE. THE ENAMEL HAS FADED A BIT ON ONE END AND THERE IS A SMALL DAMAGED AREA ON ONE OF THE LEAVES. SEE THE PICTURE WITH THE QUARTER TO GET AN IDEA OF THE SIZE OF THE DING IN THE ENAMEL. THE BASE IS WOOD BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT KIND. THE LEAVES FIT UNDER THE MAIN TABLETOP AND CAN BE RAISED BY LIFTING THEM OUT AND UP. THEY MOVE ON A SPRING AND A SERIES OF WOODEN BARS UNDER THE TABLE(SEE PICTURE) THE 4 CHAIRS ARE CHROME AND VINYL. THE PATTERN IS BLACK AND WHITE WITHJUST A BIT ... moreOF GOLD OR YELLOW IN THE BACKGROUND. IT'S HARD TO DESCRIBE THE PATTERN.SORT OF WHISPY STARBURSTS WITH WAVY LINES IN THE BACKGROUND. THE CHAIRS NEED A GOOD CLEANING AND THERE IS SURFACE RUST ON THE CHROME. ONE CHAIR HAS A LEG CAP MISSING. THE VINYL IS FADED ON THE SEATS AND BACKS AND A COUPLE OF THE BACKS HAVE SMALL TEARS. I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT AGE OF THIS SET. IT COULD BE FROM THE 1930'S OR THE 50'S. CONSIDERING THE AGE OF THIS SET. IT IS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION AND OF COURSE, IT'S SIGNED!
