One person can unlatch the table and easily separate the top, exposing the leaf that is stored underneath. With an easy lift, the butterfly leaf opens and falls into place adding another 20" to the table. On the leaf are two ares that are lighter in color than the rest of the table(as seen in pics 7 and 10) The table has age appropriate wear(as seen in pics#9-10) A couple unique things about this table are the rosewood circles around the table as seen in pic#9 and the double spanner between the trestle legs. With leaves down it measures just 40"x 24" And with the leaves up it measures 40"x 54" With the three 12" leaves in place in extends to 90" in length. The original 4 piece protective pad that I have does not allow for the extra center leaves. This table has only a couple of very minor flaws: a couple of watermarks on the top. And a couple of minor abrasions to the legs at chair seat height. These are just flaws in the finish only-there are no scratches, gouges, chips, cracks or repairs to this original condition, elegant piece. The 2 original leveling feet for the center support are missing. Once again lighting and photographing this piece presented a bit of a challenge for me. This is an Absolutely Incredible Wire Sculpture and Functional Art Piece for the Dining Room or even in the Office as a Desk Station The workmanship on this is fabulous and has a really nice clean spot weld throughout There is a total of 216 bent metal wires On each of the area's where rods meet on the bend it has been spot sprayed with flat black giving a nice depth effect I do consider this a Rare Jere Piece On my endless searches I could not find anything Possibly one of kind? The closest in style would be Jere's Crane Lamp Notable flaws I came across- was on one corner of the table- a chrome wire is separated from the weld it still holds as if it is connected(shown in 3rd where I'm holding it away& 4th to last photo on it's own) One of the wire's is slightly bent and could have already been this way while being ... moremade. Up for sale is a complete mid century modern dining room set. The set includes a dining table with one leaf. six chairs. And a buffet/hutch piece that comes in two pieces for easy transport. The set is black and white. It has some small random chips in the paint on some of the chair legs and has some cobwebs from being in storage, but I'll have it cleaned for the buyer. The table top is white and looks great, but the leaf has yellowed a bit for whatever reason. Normally I'd expect it to be the other way around, but there it is. One chair had a computer sitting on the seat for a while, so there was an indentation left in the vinyl. After I took the pictures, I left it sitting on a flat surface so the indentation should be gone shortly. Henredon Mid Century Modern Asian-influenced Dining Chairs and Table
A very early dining set from Henredon. My guess is 1950's but I've never seen a set like this one so am not certain of the year. Solid wood of course and exceedingly well made. Some highlights: Asian influenced. Simple design with gentle curves, Front chair legs flare or widen. Ending in brass caps, Matching brass caps on all table legs, Gorgeous wood. Perhaps mahogany, Gracefully bent chair backs, Brass fittings and leaf pegs on table, Dual grain or finish wide banding on table, Comes with custom fitted protective table pad, Chairs: 5 chairs total(1 is a captain's chair with arms) Chair Condition: The chairs are beautiful even in their original patina with some wear. These are what make this set so special and unlike many Henredon designs these would look right at home in a Dwell spread. Really stunning and you could use them ... moreas-is I would think unless you want them closer to like new in which case you'd need to do a bit of touch up in spots. Such as the legs where there are some misc nicks since the 1950's. The finish in some spots such as the captain's chair has worn from use for 50 years in the same family so you could re-oil or finish those if you don't like the worn patina of age to show there. Four of the chairs have a recent non-professional reupholstery on the seats, the 5th has a different older upholstery still. Table Size: 42" x 42" 29.5" high. Three leaves are each 15" wide, making the maximum table size 42" x 87" Table Condition: The table needs TLC. It is missing a curved wood connecting piece on one side(see photo) One of the double legs that separate when the table is extended is off and(but I do have it) Although the table is still sturdy without this piece. There are also some scratches and nicks and a surface finish discoloration on part of the original finish as you can see in the photos. So basically it needs to be refinished. Great pink color with black trim and gold splattered formica. The chair seats may have been recovered at one point. But have been like this since I have had it. Has a leaf in the middle that can come out or stay in to make it bigger. 60" long x 35" wide x 30" high. Comes complete with 6 very strong chairs. This set is very heavy and well made. The bottom under the formica is real wood, not some particle or pressed board base. Gorgeous solid wood John Witticomb dining table. In its smallest position it measures 39" x 29" x 29" It is 93" fully extended. All four leaves can be stored in the crate that was made for them. The feet appear to be made out of brass( need polishing) All of the hardware and mechanisms are in working excellent condition. It is very sturdy. It does have some scratches and signs of wear but nothing that can't be refinished and made to look new. It had one owner. I will not take part of the shipment of this item. Danish Modern Dining Table Glass top MID CENTURY??????????????????
This is an estate piece. Some items from the estate items are Mid Century. But most was newer, so I have no idea of the age of this piece. The base is beautiful, and a great design, but the top is scratched and has a small ding(I would replace the top if it were me) I am listing this as"pick up only" but I can drop it off in Phoenix or Tucson. For your consideration is a Mid Century Modern Lacquered Goat Skin Dining Table by Karl Springer from a Boston Massachusetts Estate. Bruno Mathsson designed"Maria" table-extendable to 110" or store at 9.5" wide. Can be used at 110" long. 58" long, or 32" long. Table can seat from 2 to 12 people. 35.5 inches wide. This table was purchased in 1958 from Scan in Manhattan, marked simply with"374" Scan sold this table beginning in 1955 through 1960, probably made in Denmark for Scan. Still available new from Sweden beginning at $4500, or check out 1stdibs for similar tables, some signed and some not signed as this one is. This is NOT a Yugoslavian version. Elegantly figured walnut table top-one photo shows the figuring clearly. Rich European walnut veneer top with solid wood legs and brass hardware. The legs have the original toned lacquer finish, waxed and closely matching in hue the table top. The finish has been carefully restored ... morewith a hand rubbed oil finish, as was original. Over the years the table has developed a rich patina, and, unfortunately, a few small blemishes, shown in photos, noticeable on close inspection. The last four photos show the blemishes. The four drop leaves show no fading. The final application to the wood is Howard's"Feed and Wax" which, along with a neutral high quality paste wax if you wish more shine, should be all the table will need for maintenance in future. When completely dry, the finish is uniform in color and soft glow. This table is in excellent vintage condition; it is not in new condition but better than new in its color. This is a family piece I have renewed. As an interesting note, in the 1930′s the MOMA in New York commissioned Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson to design furniture for its public rooms in its new addition. Vintage Heywood Wakefield Dining Table Chairs Mid Century Modern Harmonic Chair
This auction is for one 1955 Heywood Wakefield"Harmonic" 989-G drop-leaf dining table. Three#60 dining chairs, and one#61 dining armchair all in Platinum finish. This is a solid set with no cracks, splits, or breaks. The set is dated"NOVEMBER 1 1955" see picture) We moved at the beginning of the year and our current house has dark wood built ins, so this light wood set just didn't fit. We ended up storing this set after we found a dark wood Danish modern table that matched the built ins. Cosmetically, the original Heywood Wakefield"Platinum" finish has typical scratches and wear on both table and chairs with the worst wear being on the table top where there is flaking in the finish in spots(see pictures) This set still looks pretty good to be 58 years old. This 4 chair and table set is in excellent condition. I remember this set at my grandparents house in the early 80s so it's been in our family for many years and was always cared for. Local pick up only. 4 chairs plus the table(circular) with one leaf that makes it more like an oblong circle shape. Table is in excellent condition too. Chairs are in very good condition. I put some linseed oil on the wood and they cleaned up nicely. Black vinyl seat and high back. Not perfect. Classic mid century modern design. The chairs have a beautiful line to them. VINTAGE MID CENTURY MODERN TEAK DINING TABLE BRDR FURBO W/6 CHAIRS #69 MS
This is a nice set that just needs a bit of attention to make it a great set. The table is BRDR Furbo of Denmark. It is 39" wide. Without the leaves up it's 63" long, with the leaves up it's 103" long. The chairs are not marked, we are assuming they came with the table. The seat backs are 31" high, and the seats are 17" high. Issues: This set was in a home with cats. As you can see they ruined the fabric on the chairs. One side of the table top needs to be re-glued to the base frame(see photo 7) There are some small dings and scratches here and there. But nothing major, and nothing that couldn't be corrected with little effort. Some of the wooden screw plugs are missing on the chair legs(see last photo) I have been told they can be purchased at a hardware store. Please ask questions if you have them. Beautiful design with sculptural base- the legs are connected together in pairs by unique brass hinges that allows them to fold flat once they have been removed from the table. This is an authentic rare beautiful mid century Scandinavian dining table circa late 1950's/early 1960's that was bought at Florence Knoll Studio's in NYC. It was designed by Stendig and has a label underneath. It was made in Finland. It's a round table and 54" across. The top surface has a bit of a bubble and some scrapes from a recent move.
