The coffee table was purchased at J.H. Biggars. A then-exclusive furniture store in Pasadena, California(Biggars is still in business, located at 860 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA) The coffee table has been in the family ever since. I have stored this table for a number of years. I'd hoped that it would someday be a focal point in my Malibu beach house. But the beach house never materialized(ha! so alas, we are finally dispersing possessions that we have no room for. Here is a description of the table: The travertine marble top sits atop a wood. Triangle-shaped base. I’m not sure what kind of wood this is. It is finished a pale blond color. The base is very sturdy. The white travertine marble top is a triangle shape with rounded corners. It is more than an inch thick and very heavy. The marble has grooves and holes in it. Which is a natural part of the stone. The surface of the table is flat and shiny. As you can see in the photos. There are a few water spots and one water ring on the marble top. These are superficial and they can possibly be buffed or polished out. There is some wear on the base and brass feet. As you can see from the photos. There are no maker marks on the table base or top. Other than the number"500" stamped on both, which identified the pieces as a set. The marble top measures 60-inches long by 41.5-inches wide. This is a very nice vintage Mersman Danish double drop leaf table. It is branded"Mersman 22-53" on the underside. Inside of the table. The measurements are appx. 15 1/2" tall x 19 1/2" deep x 49 1/4" wide with the leaves down and 66 1/8" with both leaves up. It is in overall good condition and a very sturdy and practical table. It does have standard wear marks and scratches but is in good condition for its age and comes from a smoke free home. The freight cost is an estimate. There are some scratches under the table and one scratch on one of the legs. I have stained these and they are not noticeable when the table is in use. The table comes completely apart. The two tops. The legs, and the dowels that connect the two tops. It will ship disassembled. This will ensure safe shipping. The first step in assembly is to connect the dowels to the lower surface. Vintage Danish Lane Acclaim Mid Century round coffee table
This is the timeless classic by Lane. It is as beautiful and desireable today as it was 50 years ago. The intersection grains and dovetails are unmistakeable. It appears that this one has had the top stripped and revarnished. There is some discoloring on the top that is difficult to capture with a camera. The legs and feet have the usual scuffs and marks that a table this age should have. The black feet are made of wood so they would be easy to paint. All the glides are in place. An amazing example of a mid century modern. Eames era, surfboard shaped coffee table. Measures 47"L x17"W(at widest point)x16"H. Very hard to find lucite top with embedded pebbles and wooden legs(ebony, teak or mahogany perhaps? Table is in fantastic condition, some very superficial scratches on legs which are barely noticeable. Legs screw off so I can ship but this table is extremely heavy so shipping will reflect that. One of the pottery tiles is signed'Ox Art' and dated'1974. There are 49 tiles total and this is quite heavy as a consequence. This measures about 49 1/4 in. across by 16 in. high with a 1 3/4 in. wide wood skirt. This was made in Denmark, but is no longer marked. This has light wear overall: light dustiness/light scratches and smudges to the finish. Mid Century Coffee Table & End Tables ( Burbank, CA )
Here I have available a 3 piece mid century set: coffee table and two end tables. Items are not in the most pristine condition from previous owners but I have tried taking the best care of them as I could. Sadly one of the legs on the coffee table has been improvised by previous owners to keep the leg in. All 3 pieces have small bumps and nicks on them but nothing too noticeable unless staring at them up close.
