Authentic Eero Saarinen for Knoll Tulip Coffee/Cocktail table. 3ft in diameter, 15" tall. Purchased at a high end estate with the Safari chair I have listed and a Ed Wormely dining set for Dunbar and Le Corbusier LC1 Pony Hide Sling chair that I still have yet to list. This was bought overseas, and like most items from Europe, it is not signed: no label. But, it is Knoll; the weight and concrete like fill in, in the bottom, are signs of authenticity. It weighs over 36 Lbs. It has, as you can see, yellowing from the years, on the upper part of the stem, as well as yellowing underneath, along with slight cracking/crazing on the surface and fingerprints, shown in pics 7& 8. The base is 16 3/4" in diameter. This will ship freight or Greyhound Express. The cost for freight will probably be cheaper and safer than having it packed ... moreprofessionally and shipped GE. I have used shippers such as Plycon and TSC and 7 day shipment auction to get the best cost for my buyers. Feel free to ask me for an approximate shipping quote. One of the few pieces of furniture by Jeorg Jensen this striking table is at once both organic and geometric. Made of solid teak and with it's original glass top it is a wonderful example of mid century modernism. Dimensions: Height of base: 41cm Width of base: 46cm Diameter of top: 75cm Condition: Fabulous original condition. The frame is sturdy and not faded. There are a couple of minor scratches to the glass. The mounts between the base and the top are original. One of the bakelite inserts(for where the screw fastens the frame together) had cracked and was replaced with a rubber equivalent of almost identical size but in completely unnoticeable. The edges are cut and polished on all of the edges except for the edges of the red lid that are cut but not polished smooth. There are some surface blemishes on the rolled edges of the lid that were caused when the lucite was heated and bent to roll over so it would fit and stay on the box. Some very minor wear scratches. But no chips, cracks, stains, film, burns, or repairs. The box does rock very very slightly when sitting and the lid also rocks a tiny bit. This is a very nice circa 1950's mahogany coffee or low side table base only. It is being sold without the glass top. It measures 33" long. 17" wide and 15" high. It is in very good condition with some moderate edge wear. There is a gouge out of the wood along the cross member beneath the glass. This may be a custom piece made by a cabinet maker rather than manufactured, since it is not marked and I have never seen one like it.This is being sold without the glass, it is a regular glass panel and you can have your own cut. This is a great mid century long bench or coffee table. The sides and the legs are ebonized and the top is solid rosewood. We have seen this attributed to Milo Baughman. But this is unmarked. It measures approximately 54" long x 16" wide x 14 1/2" tall. This is vintage and has been used, it needs some TLC. The top has a large stain which you can see in the pictures and it does have some bumps and bruises appropriate to age and use. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Vtg Mid Century Modern Wood Tapered Pencil Coffee Table Legs Mounting Brackets
I found th ese table legs at an estate sale(I removed them f rom a table I purchased that was from the 1950s) They had a couple layers of paint on them(not original) s o I stripped them to the wood(they could use a little more sanding before staining) The metal end caps were al so painted so I sanded them down. T he tip ends still s how a little rust. Two of these sl ip off easily and the other two will come off with a tug. I didn't want to glue or tack these on so that the new owner can slip them off to stain the legs and repaint the tips too. The top ends have the mounting screws( a litt le rust. But very st urdy) and the mo unting brackets are also included. The brackets had some paint and rust which I attemp ted to sand off some to show they are still solid and sturdy. There is still quite a bit of rust on the back. But that will ... morebe underneath and wont show. These are the brackets that will give an outward tilt to the legs. Not just straight up and down mount. These are definately vintage legs, not reproductions, and are solid wood! There are a few dents and still a little paint do wn in the grain in some are as. Not perfect. But good solid legs! these measure about 13.25" end to end not including the mounting screw. The bracket will add another 3/8-1/2" the y are about 1 3/8" wide at the top and taper to about 5/8" these will cost me at least $10-12 to ship. I a m offering f ree shipping. But just so you know. But no round tables(one, the asking price is $5200.00) We believe that this table is from the fifties and possibly designed by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings. It looks to be a cross-over piece within the different"lines" of furniture being made in the fifties. I say that because the center lazy Susan is made of Burled Fruitwood, which comes from the"Wellington Group" of furniture, yet the legs are from a different line. The sun-burst main portion is a beautiful walnut veneer. The legs are solid walnut. Size: 42" across. 17.25" high(outer edge) The Lazy Susan is 26" diameter. Condition: The table is in very nice condition and I believe the main top section(the walnut part) has been refinished. The burled center is in almost perfect condition and the legs have the age appropriate nicks. I have pictured the two issues in the walnut. We found this at an local estate sale and the owner said that her father had made this table. The coffee table has the hard to find hairpin metal legs. The top is made with a heavy.thick piece of wood that has been covered with a blonde champagne/wheat color formica. There is some normal nicks and slight oxidation on the metal legs.but the legs are in great shape for their age and use. The formica table top also has scratches and chips to the surface top. Some minor markings and a few larger scratches to the table top. The wood weaving on the under shelf is nearly pristine, save for one tiny spot of breakage. Nice curvature to the ends of the legs.
