French gothic marble top serving piece Pan server
This serving cabinet is 89 inches high to the top of the carving. It is 79 inches to the top rail. It is 49 inches across and 19 inches deep. The piece is heavily carved throughout. The top portion lifts off from the bottom above the marble which makes for easier moving. The top has a sloped back with carving on it. It has gothic style decoration below the top rail. There are posts on each side of the top. The top rail has a carved figure which we believe is a pan. It is a horned creature that looks a little like a devil. There is brown marble on the center of the piece that would be used for serving. Above the marble is a plate rail or it could also be used for glasses. There are drawers on each side under the marble. On the side of the drawers is a carved head that looks like sometime of a cat. There is an escutcheon in between the two ... moredoors that is hand carved. Under the drawers are two doors. The doors have a panel construction and each one has carved dragons on them. The detail and the quality is exceptional. There is a shelf on the very bottom. It has flat bun feet. We date this to the late 19th century. We were told this came out of a house in Normandy France. There is a little bit of damage as can be expected of a piece this age. There is a chip to the left ear of the figure on the top. The nose of the left cat like figure has some damage. There is a split on the right side of the piece where it has split due to age. There has been a repair to the marble of approximately one and one-half inches square. There are two splits on the bottom shelve. None of the damage mentioned is noticeable other than the split on the right side. Please contact us if you would like to see more pictures. Absolutely stunning American made credenza in the style of Herter or Pottier and Stymus of NY. It's just a great looking. Very well constructed piece of American furniture that is on the open market. Serpentine sides and abundant bronze work adorn this one. The plaques on the door are very heavy and the castings are well done in solid Bronze. Very cool being rosewood and super clean, we have cleaned it from top to bottom to restore it's original finiks without damaging any value. Original white statuary marble and the acanthus leaves retain their original gold leaf finish. A very nice three-drawer 1880-1885 Eastlake chest with a beautiful pink and gray marble top. Which can be lifted off for moving. Note the interesting cove-and-pin construction of the drawers. All drawers will lock. But there is no key. It takes a barrel key, and have found that keys of friends will easily work the locks. Spoon-carved type of decorations along side each end of the top drawer. Note the construction details and condition in the photos. Size: 44"l. x 22"w. x 30"h. Chest has not been refinished and the marble top has not been polished(probably not ever) Though it would enhance the piece to have it polished. Due to its age, there has been some shrinkage of the wood, which is normal. This piece is a perfect size for storing rolls of gift wrap. Marble Top Coffee Table - Louis XV style - reproduction
This table is a reproduction of a provincial Louis XV style coffee table produced in the mid 20th century. The table has a carved apron and cabriole legs which are used to support the marble top. After the second world war there was a resurgence of French style in the United States that lasted into the 1970's. The resurgence went away for a while. But is back today making this table very stylish again. It has been in my family since the 1950's when it was new. I have enjoyed having marble for a coffee table because it seems so indestructible. I raised a family and entertained quite a bit. It never circles due to drinks that are set down on it and doesn't get scratched. ANTIQUE Asian Carved Hardwood Plant Stand with Marble Top and intricate carving
This is an unusual rare find. Antique Asian Carved Plant Stand/Table appraised to be from the very late 1800's possible early early 1900's. Carved dark hardwood with very detail and intricate design as you can see from the dragon like image on legs. Marble top but the possibility it could be some kind of stone? Two separate pieces that fit together. There is some looseness/slight wobble to it in places but still remains sturdy enough. I've put many pics in so you can see where the age is that creates this looseness. It is most likely just the glue at the time and the small nails used that have aged. I have not repaired it in any way. You can see what appears to be a bit of rust formation on the top of the marble most likely from time of putting a brass bucket or something that had water to it on top.
