I am pleased to offer for sale this fine Classic American Empire Walnut Marble Top Dresser/ Chest with Mirror circa 1890's. This marble top dresser/ chest is gorgeous Walnut. This splendid dresser/ chest measures a total height of 67.5 inches to the top of the mirror. Height to the top of the glove boxes is 41 inches, a total width of 41.5 inches wide and 21 inches deep and weighs approximately 160 lbs. The gorgeous mirror is framed in Walnut and rests in matching arm supports, the width of the mirror frame measures 27 1/2 inches and the old original mirror measures 27 1/2 inches high by 15 1/2 inches wide. The mirror rests is a turned walnut slot on top of the center storage drawer flanked by top glove box drawers and a drop marble top center.The base offers three large storage drawers each having gorgeous burled walnut fronts, brass ... morepulls. This 19th century piece is just gorgeous and would surely be a beautiful focal point in your home. This is a impressive sideboard with gorgeous spoon carvings. Finials, carved Lion heads,burl walnut panel accents and a fancy carved scroll and shell gallery as well as the original beautiful brown marble top and the original brass hardware and early dove-tailed ends on the drawers. This sideboard/ buffet measures a total height of 82 1/2 inches( 6 ft 10 1/2 in) to the top of the carvings on the very top center. Height from the floor to the top of the brown marble measures 36 1/2 inches,with a total width of 48 1/4 inches and a depth at the base of 21 1/2 inches and this pieces weighs approximately ... more250 lbs. This sideboard does dis-assemble into 4 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf above the marble measures 26 inches in height above the marble top and the shelf measures 43 inches wide by 11 inches deep.The larger mirror measures 19 inches high by 33 inches wide, and the three mirrors at the top each measure 10 inches wide by 6 inches high. This is a fabulous piece in wonderful antique condition and the original brown marble top is also just beautiful with no apologies we can find. All the locks are intact but the key provided just aids in opening the cabinet doors and does not work the locks. There is a small piece of carving missing on the left side of the pediment inside of one of the scrolls. I have shown a close-up of in the pictures and appears to have been missing for a long time.nothing major in my opinion and definitely doesn't distract from the beauty of this gorgeous 19th century piece. I't as good as it gets in antique furniture. There's no damage, no repairs. It's in wonderful original condition with a great patina. The marble is in great shape as well. Thereare 2 very minor super ficial nics on the edge. They can barely be fet to the touch. There shown in the pics and hardly visible. I don't sell suprises. So while they're minor issues, I mention them. I'll estimate this piece around the turn of the 20th century in age. The stand is 30" high. It's 12 1/2" at the widest bend in the legs. Own a piece of American Railroad History. Tennessee Central Memorabilia is extremely hard to locate. This Tennessee Central Logo came from the floor of the old Freight Depot building Vestibule that sat on 1st Avenue here in Nashville. It is made of Tennessee Marble. Which was mined in East Tennessee from the mid 1800's until the early 1900's. Two colors, Grey and' Cedar' it is called, more of a purple tint. It measures about 34 inches across, and is just under an inch thick. In 1972 as they were tearing down the Depot a gentleman went to retrieve some of the Architectural Glass Blocks and this was in the floor. He asked the workers if it was to be saved and they told him no it was" going to the dump" He convinced them to let him salvage it. 3 hours later with a screwdriver and a claw hammer he had it out in one piece. ... moreHe's owned it all these years. I purchased it from him a while ago. It's been in my Living Room since. The Marble is as smooth as glass, polished very well. Stunning Rams Head Marble Top Wood End Table - from the 1800's or earlier
This auction is for a magnificant antique wood table with hand carved wood rams head legs and a marble top. I do not know the age of the table but it is at least 3 generations old. It has to be at least from the 1800's and maybe the 1700's or earlier. It was my Great. Great, Great Grandmothers(3 greats) and I am not sure where she got it or how old it was when she got it. It has a nice marble top. The table is in very nice condition. The heads of the rams if you look at it very closely are ever so slightly different do to them being hand carved. The marble top being old mined marble is farly smooth but has soom slight roughness in places adding character to it. The table stands 31 1/4" tall and the top is about 14" in total diameter. As far as I can see, it does not have any markings indicating who made it. On very close ... moreinspection I see that at some point it looks like one rams head had broken but was securly and beautifully re-attached. In one of the pictures I point to that. The marble slides slightly in the frame when tiped. Certainly not a problem but wanted to mention it. It is however secure. This is a beautiful table and a beautiful piece. It deserves to be displayed in a high-end estate. This will be very well packaged when shipped and insured. I wil ship it through UPS.

Empire Burl Walnut Italian Bedroom Set 7 Pc Marble Top
This is one of two Italian sets we have from this period and this is the claw foot one and most desirable. The two single beds are already aligned to make a king or queen size bed by attaching the two singles at mid point as my Father did on these sets. Bed back is about 57 and 1/2 inches tall and foot 35 inches Tall width each 35 and 1/2 inches which makes them 71 + when put together. Highest point in set would be Armoir at about 7 feet 2 inches. The condition is very good for this time period and has the normal scuffs and wear of use and shines up like a jewel when polished regular. I would replace the older hardware with something more modern but traditional. Burl tends to cave in with age in the knot area which separates the wood. Most people do not touch this or fill it in but leave it with it's natural aging. This splendid chest is the perfect size to be placed next to a bed for a nightstand and features its original marble top with back-splash& candle stands. Incised carvings and burl walnut accents on the drawer fronts and the original casters intact on the base. This bachelors chest measures 40 3/4 inches in height from the floor to the top of the back.Height to the front from the floor measures 30 1/4 inches, with a width of 30 inches and a depth of 16 3/4 inches and this chest weighs approximately 100 lbs. LARGE WOOD BRASS AND MARBLE TOP APOTHECARY SCALE with several weights
UP for auction is a large apothecary scale. The trays are brass. Top is marble. Nice solid wood box with numerous weights- see pics. I dont believe the scale is calibrated. But can probably be fixed. This vintage scale is 18" in length, 6" high, and 7" wide approximately. There is only one weight missing as far as i can see, but there are weight chips and a tong included as well. I did not clean or polish it, though it would clean up quite nicely. The small weight box with lid has some scratches- see pics. I will ship insured and well packaged. VERY COOL old Apothecary Scale Please look at the photos CAREFULLY and read below Unsure of the exact make of this piece. It is heavy.made of wood and has a marble top. It needs a cleaning.but seems to be in very good shape for the age. Inside looks good.the scale seems to work(i have no weights for it) Photo 3 shows the inside of the scale. Its a nice green. There are some wee little numbers or letters and i can not really make them out. if you look at the photo you can see the bars closest to the edge there is some silver showing.thats where the marks are. they are on both sides and tiny tiny. Photo 4 is the underneath of the marble. Has some writing or numbers on it Photo 5 is the bottom of the wooden box. Looks like it had something on it at one point.
