It came in with some surface scratches on the solid top which we have sanded out, stained and re-sprayed it so that it is all ready to go into the home or office scratch free. It is in the dark reddish brown mahogany stain finish that is really nice. It has notch carved molding all the way around the skirt. The brass hardware is intact on the dove tail drawer. It has a round corner top that is solid mahogany, carved cabriole legs, carved elbows and a bottom shelf support. The table is 42 inches wide, 26 inches deep and 29 inches tall. It has a great look. American Federal Mahogany Tilt Side Tea Table 1790-1810

Description: This listing is for a Late Federal Turned Mahogany Tilt Top Candlestand circa 1780-1810. It is an amazing solid piece. With some of the most beautiful golden mahogany selected for each part of the table. The top is a solid single board with wonderful grain variation swirling throughout. The underside is heavily oxidized, with what appears to be original hardware allowing the piece to remain locked in place. The small piece that it clips into is also original, and entirely hand forged. Both rails along the underside of the table are original, with variations in oxidization along areas with oxygen exposure and low oxidization where the pedestal locks in. All six of the screws locking the rails into the table top appear ... moreto be hand forged and original as well. Incredible tight swirl turnings wrap around the pedestal in perfect parallels before terminating on three legs. Each of these legs is locked into the pedestal using an original hand forged iron tri-bracket. The entire table is glowing in it's long developed patina. The legs. Pedestal and top quite literally shine. The piece is in outstanding condition, structurally and visually with only very minor flaws noted in the condition below. This is an amazing find for anyone serious about obtaining only the highest levels of craftsmanship and design for their home. Measurements: Table position- 28" high x 27 1/4" long x 19" deep Tilted position- 39" high x 27 1/4" long x 18" deep Condition: Visually Outstanding Condition- Review images of top- swirls on table top that have long oxidized over. Possibly refinished at some point a long time ago. One scratch to surface slightly more visible having not yet oxidized. As well as minor light scratches here and there. The table features a nice inlaid patera on the front and wide stringing on the top edges. All over square, tapered, and fluted legs. The two back legs fold out to support the top. Secondary woods look are pine and oak. There has been some repair to the apron and the top has a slight warp. It has a nice old finish. Please view all photos carefully. Late 18th to early 19th Century original antique George II/ George III Georgian period dish top bird-cage snap top parlour/ breakfast/ dining table. The table is a single plank dish topped table, standing on cabriole legs with shaped pad feet having a gun-barrel tapering column rising over, with a classic turned bird-cage rising over which is the swivel top having a later fitted mahogany toggle which has replaced the banjo catch that has been removed at some period during its history. Rising over this is a single piece mahogany top with beautiful figuring. The base revolves on the bird-cage axis. A good original antique rustic piece of furniture, very ... moreattractive with good colour and patination. Date: The table dates circa 1750- 1820. Condition: The table is in very nice near original condition. There are one or two distress marks. Consistent with age and authenticity, the top having been re-finished revealing a lovely antique patination matching the base beautifully, the base appearing to retain its original finish. The table has one or two restorations, the top having been re-finished, the banjo catch having been replaced with a wooden toggle. There is an old metal plate on the bird-cage top where the banjo catch would have snaped into. There are a couple of repairs to cracks in the bird-cage plates but this is all consistent with wear, age and use again adding to character and authenticity. Warm and beautiful- no stains on the tray. Stand with tray measures 30 in. high. The tray is 30 in. across the front and 20 in. deep. At its highest. The gallery on tray is 4 in. New green straps; make the tray higher by shortening the straps. Condition is very good. The feet of the stand show about a quarter inch of wear that may be old water damage. The table is mahogany with birch inlay and mahogany veneers. It has a fifth leg that swings open to support the top and is probably from New England. The table is 36" wide by 18" deep by 30" high closed. Opened it is 36" across by 29" high. It was once a gorgeous table but has some significant problems as follows: the top is warped and there have been some rather sloppy repairs. Mostly done with a shellac stick. To the base it has a knee hole or some times in England years ago they used to let the dog sleep in there.They called it a dog kennel, it has the original cut glass handle.
