It is a magnificent work, using the most incredible solid mahogany boards available for the overall presentation. Each leaf is a very broad single plank of full grained glowing mahogany, the middle most board a full 21 1/4" across the grain; each was flawlessly planed by hand until the surface was perfectly smooth, at which point a french polish was applied. This is a labor intensive and difficult finish to apply, layer after countless layer of shellac being rubbed into the surface by hand, but when done properly the result is breathtaking. The surface absolutely shimmers, the deep reds of the mahogany glowing through with utter brilliance. The leaves are notched and rounded. Giving an overall"cloud" form to each hanging surface, these lifting over hand forged iron hinges with entirely original screws. The top projects just slightly over the front, lining up perfectly along the sides such that the leaves rest squarely against the frame when in dropped form. One side of the table has a faux drawer with cockbead molding around it. The other side has a very deep drawer without cockbead molding, both having bold original polished brass stamped handles. In the edge of the top and down the legs. none is missing as far as i can ascertain. the finish is original and shows a lot of crazing and cracking and some depressions, none of which are an issue, but if you are looking for the perfect finish, this one does not have it. actually the pictures don't show the finish well, it just looks kinda hazy, but anyway, it is old varnish and shows some minor loss in a few places, but again it is not enough for pictures to pick up. it has bronze or brass collars at the feet which are in good shape and the rivets are tight. this is the best hepplewhite table on the internet, but not ... morepriced anywhere close to those others. they start at like 8500 and go up. i have a federal and period furniture book and the hepplewhite card tables are prized in the book from 15,000 up to 541,000. in fact, my table is a dead ringer for the 541,000 dollar table. i don't want that much for mine, maybe half, or maybe 1 percent would be great. this table has hepplewhite inventory nos. on the bottom of the skirt which read 1579 A and i think 21. it also has written on the bottom of the table english mahogany. the structure and function of this piece is mint condition and perfect the finish is smooth and i just cleaned it with liquid gold, a furniture polish. there are two very tiny pieces of wood missing, about the size of a small finger nail clipping, if you can see them, they are in picture 2 and 4, but they are so small i don't think they can be seen. the right hind leg is a swing leg and supports the other half of the top when opened up, it works to perfection. the table is square, plumb, and level. it is 36 inches wide,36 inches deep when opened up or 17.75 inches deep when not in use. it is 30 inches tall. it has been in my aunt's deceased husbands family since i

This table measures 29 3/4 inches in height.35 1/2 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches deep and weighs approximately 35 lbs. VICTORIAN COFFEE TABLE OVAL GENUINE SOLID MAHOGANY ITALIAN MARBLE ANTIQUE 1875
For sale is an antique oval coffee table made between 1875 and 1885 by Victorian out of genuine solid mahogany and Italian marble. One side of the wood has a scratch on it. But the other side is in excellent shape(see pictures) Since it's the same design on both sides, just turn the scratch towards a wall and it will look amazing! The marble is also in amazing shape and is not chipped, cracked or dented. Dimensions are 34 inches(almost 3 feet) long by 18 inches(1.5 feet) high. This table has an incredible amount of history behind it. Imagine Little House on the Prairie days. This table would have been the centerpiece in a luxury house of someone wealthy. Mahogany Side Table in George III Style-Reproduction
An antique appraiser described this as"Mahogany side table in George III style. The oblong top with a blind-fretted back rail above a conforming frieze drawer on moulded, chamfered square legs with stretchers. Thought to be from early 1900s is is a reproduction of the mid-18th century type incorporating"Chinese Chippendale" features such as blind fretting. It has a stamp of 1391 on back. There are some scratches and chipped wood, as seen in the pictures. Sound and sturdy-we used it as a writing desk. Measures 30 1/2" high, 40" wide, and 19 1/2" deep.

for auction is a very very nice antique victorian. Mahogany turtle top table. this is quite a stunning piece, very well constructed, solid as a rock, no loose joints, does not wiggle or wobble, sits evenly on the floor, and has no issues to report. its condition is near mint. it has very nice grain in the wood and is solid mahogany, no veneers. it sits on 2 sets of legs that are wonderfully connected by an ornate stretcher. it has a special feature of 3 finials at each corner of the table. i cleaned the top, sorry about the bottom and legs, i didn't realize they were so dusty. pictures do a great job of showing up any dust. it is 39.5 inches wide, 26.5 inches deep, and 29.5 inches tall. it ay be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. thanks for looking and good luck.

The mahogany veneer on the top required replacement. I customized the top with the wonderful diamond inlay that features multiple woods.The curvaceous Queen Anne Cabriole legs with pad feet are superb.The graceful curves on the side, front and back make for a great look.This piece is restored and finished on all 4 sides. It dates from the William IV Period and was made from solid Mahogany and Lignum Vitae that was Hand-Carved by Slaves on the Plantation. C. 1835. Having a very fine carved large center pedstral and with very fine caved legs ending with carved claw feet. See photo's Having the very best quality of the mahogany single board solid top and leaves. I have ever seen. This table top was most certaining cut from a ancient old mahogany tree. The stenciling is original the design is the same pattern on each end of the table as will around the lower center drum where the legs attach.
