It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

It has a solid mahogany folding top with its original brass hinges and it sits on a mahogany veneered pedestal with casters. Beneath the top is a storage area. It stands 29-3/4” high with the top folded closed or 29” high with the top folded open. The top measures 36” x 36-1/2” opened or 18” x 36-1/2” stored folded. The storage area is 15” x 32-1/2” x 2-3/4” deep. Condition: As you can see in the pictures there are several veneer chips. Mostly small, the largest pointed out in one of the pictures below. English Chippendale George III Mahogany Writing Table One Drawer Desk c. 1760-80
English Chippendale Mahogany One Drawer Writing Desk England. C. 1760-80 Item# 100004RUP24 Circa the last quarter of the 18th century. Probably 1760-80, this is a fine and simple one drawer English Chippendale writing desk. It is crafted of mahogany primary woods over golden oak secondary woods, with a single solid golden mahogany plank making up the top– carefully affixed with a combination of screws set in wells and a single remaining glue block, the top has survived in outstanding condition with no cracking from shrinkage and expansion over the years. It is surrounded by quarter molding and projects over a single drawer with two bail style pulls, both pulls being period and probably original to the piece, though the pins are replaced(see more below in the condition statement) The drawer is framed with a scratched bead. Simulating cockbead ... moremolding, with hand dovetailing of the front and backs fo the drawer. The frame terminates on four chamfered legs. The frame is dovetail construction over tenon mortise joinery, locking the entire structure with perfection. The interior of the frame has areas of nearly black oxidization, with unfinished hand cuts and carvings throughout the underside, a testament of the tools used by the craftsman. Hand craftsmanship is written all over this piece. With original hand made screws still holding the top to the frame– three of the seven screws are entirely hand made. Rosehead nails are visible underneath on the rear leg blocking. This is an outstanding piece for any collector of the Chippendale Period. Particularly Georgian collections, but also is a wonderful strike point for any fine home. It’s subdued size allows it to comfortably function in a variety of spaces, bringing a strong sense of refined beauty balanced with simple austerity. Measurements: 38” wide by 21” deep by 28 ½” high Condition Report: Refinished. Sunbleached with some color variation between the top and frame. As well as between the sides, front and back. Top with minor dings, scratches and a burn scar.

Very Old Mahogany Ball& Claw Coffee Table is nicely carved and is an original and not a reproduction. Measures 17 1/2 inches high 38 1/2 inches long.21 inches wide. Purchased black in color about 35 years ago and it was refinished using Formbys varnish removal and tung oil. Needs to be refinshed again for surface scratches and redone for more of a darker mahogany color. If desired. The 50 years old man it was purchased from 35 years ago said it was his grandmothers. Antique Mahogany Sofa Table made in England
This is a very nice antique sofa table made in England. It has satinwood inlay to the front, back and top with flamed mahogany to the top. The drawers are solid wood with dovetail joints. The base has extra under carrage for support, and sits on regency style legs with the original brass castors to the feet. I would say it has had some small repairs but nothing major to to the table. The back is finished so it could go into a center of a room if needed. Measurements are 41 wide.20 deep,28 high and the two drop leafs are 11 each, so in total the table is 63 long. 11

This table is very clean and is made from solid mahogany. The legs are completely hand carved and the top of the table is hand cut. The craftsmanship that went into this piece is outstanding. It is from about 1760 and over time has developed pleasing wear. The condition is good overall. But there is a crack in one of the legs, but it does not affect the integrity and stability of the table. The tilt top works, and the lock is original, but has one of the screws replaced.
