Being presented for sale is this fabulous 19th century French Empire Mahogany Marble top Dressing Table Vanity with gilt ormolu. The details on this piece are truly beautiful! Brass accents adorn the mirror supports with brass acorn knobs securing the oval mirror to the supports. The original white& grey marble is inserted into the vanity top. A storage drawers below with a gorgeous angel type ormolu key escutcheon. The lock is present in the drawer but we do not have the key. Flanking the drawer are Roman Goddess type faces with plumage ormolu below.just splendid! This piece measures 55 inches to the top of the mirror. Height to the marble base measures 31 inches, with a width of 22 inches and a depth at the base of 15 1/2 inches and this piece weighs approximately 60 lbs. English Edwardian Mahogany Drop Leaf Writing Table Antique Architect Desk
Edwardian Mahogany Writing Table with Drop Leaves England. First half of the 20th Century, Brass Mounted with lifting Architect-style writing surface Item# 120012QIP07B This is a beautiful antique writing table. Probably crafted in England of the Edwardian influence, though later than the period. The solid boards of mahogany have brilliant grains, the mid-most center of the table lifting to create an angled writing surface. The interior has an interesting mechanism design, using a button on the back of the table to depress a little wooden catch, allowing the table top to lift and remain propped until the button is depressed again. At the back, a small compartment can be opened when the top is in lifted position, revealing several compartments and an old glass inkwell. On either side, the mahogany leaves lift on brass hinges, lifted on mahogany ... morewings that swing outward. The front of the table has a little hand dovetailed drawer with original round ring hardware. The table rests over tapered legs terminating in spade feet of the Hepplewhite influence. This is a precious little decorative piece, bringing great visual interest to any study or office setting, also being an excellent side table in a formal sitting area as it is quite unique and versatile. In overall outstanding condition with only the most minor of blemishes, sturdy and strong for regular functional use, this is a great find for any interior decorator or anyone looking to improve the variety of a room in their home. Measurements: 40 5/8" wide when opened. 26 1/2" wide when closed. 22 1/2" deep x 29" high Condition Report: Visually Outstanding Condition Minor scratches. Dings and abrasions as associated with any functional antique. Interior seems to have some possible adjustments. Probably crafted after the Period, but during the first half of the 20th Century. English Regency Period Mahogany Breakfast Dining Table, Antique circa 1800-25

Description: This listing is for an English Regency Period Tilting Mahogany Breakfast Table. C. 1800-25. It features an incredible dark mahogany top of extremely wide proportions, using two boards to span the total depth of 36 1/4" the first board is 31 1/4" wide, the second 5" To simply imagine how large the tree used to make this board would have been is astounding, and to capture the most beautiful compact grains as found in this board is admirable. The surface is heavily polished over an early finish, both with a wonderful original patina throughout. The edge of the table top is reeded, completing the design of the top with clean lines. It is a tilting top, allowing it to be stored easily, usually in the corner ... moreof a room in a way that is visually delightful, the third leg pointing into the corner with the board facing the room. A stretched frame beneath the table forms a box of the crossbars, locking together using through-tenon joinery. Original screws lock this undisturbed frame to the underside of the table, holding the wooden dowels from the pedestal inside for a smooth rotation. Original undisturbed brass catch hardware remains functional beneath the table to lock the table in a rested position. The base of the pedestal is oak over pine, with the pedestal tenoned through both, the front with a pair of original brass receivers with what appear to be original screws. A wonderful turned pedestal of solid mahogany is designed with a short shaft over three tight turned rings over baluster turnings before flowing into sabre-legs. Each leg is capped with brass hardware, each with original screws over large original caster wheels. The legs of the table are locked in place with a Y bracket, flowing along each leg and into the center to give a high pressure joint flawless strength even 200 years after introduction. Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer you this super fine quality Nine Foot Long solid mahogany 19th Century Federal styled Banquet table. This wonderful formal dining table is constructed with two four leg double pedestal leg systems appointed with very high quality brass leg caps and pivoting caster wheels on each of its eight legs. It is 46" wide and 29 3/4" tall. It collapses to 64 1/4" long without its two 21 1/2" long leaves installed and becomes 108" long with them installed. Each of these huge leaves are supported by thick mahogany support beams the clip into frame of the table. The leaves actually rest on top of these supports and each side of the leaves have carved male and female ... moreslots the lock the leaves into place and prevent them from sliding out of place. The entire table has a carved edge including each side matched on the leaves. This table just received a dark Briwax application before the pictures were taken. It was given a good buffing and will receive several more before it is shipped. The table is in overall excellent structual condition. The tables' top is the original surface. There are a few small surface marks on its leaves but well within acceptable limits and not a big issue. No huge gouges or deep digs with stains. We are only trying to demonstrate this is over a 100 year old table with its original top surface. A comperable quality nine foot long formal solid mahogany dining table anything remotely close to this table's quality would cost you upwards to $10.000 or more new. Take a look at Stickley, Baker, Kittenger, Hendredon, etc. We are more than qualified(with years of experetise) to take this top down, re-stain and apply several new coats of sprayed and hand rubbed lacquer for an additional cost. The table features Santo Domingan mahogany and mahogany veneers, with fine inlay, and a central frieze of rosewood, with stringing, and a border of birch. The table is a rather complicated shape, popular in New England) with the'cookie corners' particularly associated with the Boston area. The legs are ring-turned on top and then tapered and reeded. Proportions are very good. The tablle is 36" wide by 18" deep by 29 1/2" high(closed) With the table open it is 36" by 36 1/2" by 28 3/4" high. Condition is very good. for auction a wonderful antique empire mahogany huge library table or partner's desk. it is 60 inches wide. 36 inches deep, and 30 inches tall. it has a full length drawers on both sides but they are of course on opposite sides. this is just a great piece. the double pedestal is so well carved and the feet are magnificent. it also has great carved corners. i took these pictures about dark so they lack a good bit quality wise, but maybe you can ascertain the quality and beauty of this table. it could have been made by thomas day, i am not sure who the maker, but whoever it was, the table is great. the feet are just the best i have ever seen. as you can see, there is a carved bundle of leaves and other items that come over the top of the stretcher and rest there. great piece. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's ... moreexpense. i can help arrange shipping should that be beneficial to anyone. good luck. ps. i paid a bundle for it some time ago and am just trying to get the investment back. i just took a look at the pictures, they are a bit dark and i pulled it out of the basement as i have room in the house for it and proceeded to dust it off with liquid gold. i see that i forgot to dust the stretcher. anyway, a good cleaning would do it good.

The table looks like it has been refinished by the previous owner within the last 10 to 15 years. But it does show normal wear and tear and some nicks and dings. It comes with a skirted single leaf and two unskirted leaves, all 11 inches wide. The table has been finished in a dark reddish-brown rich luxurious mahogany stain with a satin sheen lacquer, and it’s a pretty nice quality job, as the pictures will show. The only flaw I can see is that where the table closes, the table leaf doesn’t close up completely on the seam. This happens quite a bit on split pedestal tables, and it just needs a latch put underneath to tighten it when the table is closed. The overall size is 54 inches wide when closed, and 29.5 inches tall. When the three table leaves are inserted, it is 87 inches long. This gorgeous table has a lovely ogee beveled edge around it on the top, with a three-inch mahogany skirt, and it sits upon a split pedestal bulbous turned center column, with four finely detailed ball and claw talon feet. This is a gorgeous antique dining room table. It is made of mahogany in the"Duncan Phyfe" neo-classical style with a double(dog. Lion, deer? It was made in the 1930's, I believe. It is 60 inches long by 48 inches wide and includes a metal ring style pullout for a 12 inch leaf which brings it to 72 inches. Very Good condition and Sturdy. Some scratches but nothing significant- Restore-a-Finish will quickly bring the luster back. I hate to sell it. But it doesn't fit in my new place and I've got nowhere to store it.
