It is truly a nice period untouched table. It has a ribbon mahogany top, round corner drop leaves, heavy bold column four legged base, solid cast brass Duncan Phyfe claw foot and built in castors. I normally don’t buy period furniture like this, but I was very impressed by how untouched this piece was. The overall size is 40.5 inches long, 24 inches wide when the leaves are closed, 15 inches wide on each leaf, 52 inches long when the leaves are flipped up. The finish is very nice for being 180 years old. It does show normal nicks, dings and scratches, but I believe it would rub out nicely to make a good presentation.

The ... morestyle is from the 1830- 1840 period and that's when I believe this was made. There is a signature written in ink on the underside of the top. But it is very difficult to decipher(see photo below) I think the small circular inset in the table top might be a deliberate example of the maker's skill rather than a later repair, but it could be to"mend" a flaw in the wood I guess. There are several closed age related cracks to the top surface and some light scratches commensurate with its age, also a small black indentation, but they are not disfiguring and show in the photographs. With table tilted height is approx 8.70 inches, with table top flat, height is approx 5 inches and diameter is approx 7 inches. Overseas buyers are welcome with postage at cost but please wait for an invoice as the postage quoted in the listing is for UK delivery. Sorry but I am not willing to post to Italy at this time. Charming antique Federal style side or end table. Wood looks like mahogany. Small raised gallery around the two-piece rectangular top. Tappered square legs with embellished spade feet. Two striking geometric brass pulls on drawer. Nice. Broad drawer is well made with dovetail joints. The finish has alligatored, especially on the table top, giving the piece a wonderful aged patina. Looking at a very rare(especially to find in the States) William 1V Mahogany English Writing Table circa 1835* Fitted with the what appears to be the original maroon leather hide writing surface with decorative gold gilt tooling edges. The hide is surrounded by a border of figured mahogany with bull nose moulded edge and rounded corners. There are total of 4 drawers(2 on each side) fitted beneath the writing surface which are mahogany lined and of dovetail construction with turned wooded knob pulls. The table measures approximately 29.25" high by 48" wide by 108" long(with the 2 leaves) and 72" long(without the 2 leaves) It is accompanied by 2 leaves that each measures 18" wide. The table is solid mahogany with cross-banded inlay and features Duncan Phyfe pedestal bases with solid brass capped feet and brass castors. $275 Antique Candle Plant Primitive Family Table Walnut or Mahogany Wood Stand
This auction is for a very old candle/plant stand. It is from the 1800's. It has been in my family for many generations. I am not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. I was told it was walnut but just not sure how to tell. The photos show the condition of the stand. You can see on the top and the bottom of the top piece. It does come off and you can glue it permantly if you like. When I ship it I will wrap the round piece off of the stand and that will protect it better. I just left it as is. The top piece has some seperation in the wood and you can see on the bottom where it has been held together with old clips. It has a little area where the wood is chipped on the bottom rim. This auction is for 1 table and 2 benches as pictured I have a love for the old cast iron bases made from the late 1800s to the 1940s. So I designed and built the A Frame to emulate them. The table base is made out of heavy gauge steel and aged to perfection. It has two connecting rods with large nuts that support and join the bases. The top is made of solid 2" mahogany and is trimmed with a metal riveted edge. The benches are made from the same 2" mahogany and have matching connecting rods. HANDSOME MID-19th CENTURY ENGLISH MAHOGANY READING& WRITING TABLE. C. 1860, ADJUSTABLE LETTER INLAID CENTER& SIDE COMPARTMENTS This is a handsome early Victorian English mahogany reading and writing table dating to approximately 1860. The rectangular top has rounded corners and an adjustable center section inlaid with a brown leather panel decorated with gilt tooling. Flanking the center section are two hinged panels which open outward to reveal compartments. One open and the other with dividers. The front of the piece has a frieze center drawer with its original brass lock. Flanking this center drawer are two keyholes and locks which secure the compartments above. The side opposite the drawer has a slide which pulls out to provide a second writing surface. The table stands on beautiful leaf carved trestle feet with concealed brass ... morecasters. The piece measures 36"w X 18"d x 30"h. Condition: Overall. The piece is in very good condition considering the piece's age and use. As can be seen in the photographs, the piece has minor wear, rubbing and scratches commensurate with age. There are a few places on the top outer edge where the veneer loss has been repaired. This is a beautiful. Antique dresser chest and mirror. It dates from the early 20th century. It is lavishly carved from mahogany and richly painted and gilded. Features a sliding mirror mounted between two carved pillars. There is a panel composed of three sections right below the mirror. The top of the dresser is mahogany. Then two small and one large drawer leading down to a scrolled and gilded base. The drawers have pineapple brass pulls. The sides are as beautiful as the front with rich carving on the mirror supports and gilded rosettes. The drawers feature a hand-carved dovetail. The back of the mirror has had a piece of masonite added at some later point(the nails used don't match the earlier nails used in construction of the chest) The colors are rich and vibrant. The piece is solid. Stable and sturdy- free of any major issues. ... moreMinor issues include some loss of silver in the mirror. There is a small crack on the left pillar just above the bracket. On the back. The lower panel has one long expansion crack running from side to side with a chip in the wood just below it. There is another expansion crack on one of the side panels.
