This is the finest Regency table of this type we have had in over 15 years of selling fine antiques. This is an incredible example of fine craftsmanship from the era. Solid mahogany tilt top is wavy from the age which is very typical. There is some minor wear in center of the top that takes away nothing. Fabulous carved acanthus leaf on pedestal terminating in extravagant paw feet in gold gilt paint. You will love this piece. Prince George(Prince of Wales) was Regent from 1811– 1820 but Regency became a convenient name for the first 30 years of the 19th Century. Regency furniture was the neoclassical antique style mixed with empire style and the later Georgian style of furniture. Elaborate and ornate. Antiques from Greece, Rome and Egypt were a source of inspiration for furniture designers, attempts were made to make actual copies of ancient furniture and there was even a vogue to copy some of the stone furniture, producing them in mahogany. The regency style of furniture carried on through the William IVs reign, but introduced a few more curves and some elegant decoration. Antique Regency furniture was plain. Slender and elegant. Brass was used for decoration, rosewood and zebrawood veneers were used for a striking look. Mahogany was still the wood of choice for most furniture makers. French polishing came into vogue around 1810 and allowed for smoother shinier finishes which suited the new elegant pieces. This is a gorgeous solid mahogany Victorian-age ball and claw 54-inch round top dining table that dates from the 1890s. We've ... moreadded one more 11-inch leaf to it. So it leafs out with four leaves at 44 inches, 11 inches each leaf, and we also skirted the leaves so it wouldn't have that ugly space that you see on many tables. We only had to refinish the top to match the leaves; the rest of the table was in excellent clean condition and just needed a polish. It has a beautiful ogee beveled edge along the solid mahogany top, and a split pedestal base that opens up and pulls apart as you extend the table. When opened, it is 54 inches round and 29 inches high. The height to the skirt is 25 inches high. When the 11-inch leaves are inserted, the table becomes 98 inches long, a little over 8 feet. It's finished in a lovely dark reddish-brown stain finish with many coats of medium rub satin sheen lacquer, and is all set to go in the home. It's in overall great condition, with only minor nicks and dings here and there. I have a Letter from George Huffnagle to Pendleton describing the articles which he purchased from him detailing the account of George Washingtons stay at the Franks Home ... morewhere this table originated. I have a transcript to that letter below. The house was built in 1772 by merchant David Deshler. And a mere five years later it was in the middle of the raging Battle of Germantown. British General Sir William Howe occupied the house after the Battle. In 1793 the Yellow Fever epidemic swept through the capital of Philadelphia. And people from all over the city sought refuge in the country. President George Washington and his cabinet escaped the Fever in Germantown. Washington lived and conducted business from the Deshler-Morris house. At the time it was the Franks House. As it had passed to its second owner, Colonel Isaac Franks. During November. 1793, Washington lived in the house and met with his cabinet: Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Edmund Randolph and Henry Knox. Mahogany Drop Leaf Dining Table By Conway Co. Baltimore
Vintage mahogany dining room drop leaf table with 6 legs. Made in Baltimore by the Conway Co. Measures about 76 inches long and 42 inches wide when fully opened. Rests on 4 legs when in the drop leaf position. 2 legs on each end swing open to hold the leafs in place. Piece is small enough to put away until that extra company comes. When table is not opened fully it measures just about 42 inches L by about 28 inches wide. There is a slight unevenness I noticed in picture on end of 1 leaf. My driveway tilts down and I think I did not make the leg straight. If this is not the reason for slight tilt it is an easy fix to remedy. There are a few scuffs here and there on a table expected of an older piece. Still a very great extra table to have.

1930's Antique Mahogany dining set, handmade table and 8 chairs
This one-of-a-kind set of a gorgeous mahogany dining table and 8 chairs that my great-grandfather had commissioned in the early 1930's. The table stands on 2 pedestals. Each with w/3 brass clawed feet. With the help of 2 leaves(included) the table expands to 12 feet in length! It is in EXCELLENT condition. The chairs are as follows: There are 8 chairs total. 6 regular and 2 for the head/foot of the table and they have arms. They are 100% hand made from the strongest mahogany, I've been sitting on these chairs for as long as I can remember(about 35 years) and they don't even creak! Notice the intricate carving on the tops of all the chair backs, it's unbelievable! This set should not be passed on. It's a beautiful, original design and you will not find anything like it, anywhere!

This is a fabulous antique Victorian mahogany dining table. Originating in England. The top is oval in shape, with a double moulded edge, and the carved and turned legs have castors. The table comes with two extension leaves- the photographs show it with one of the leaves inserted- and it has a wind-out mechanism. There is no handle for this, but it can be easily wound out with a wrench. This table has been well used by our family over the years. Antique 1940's Drexel Mahogany Dining Room Set New Travis Court Collection This set has been in my family since its original purchase around 1949. The style is referred to as Duncan Phyfe. Each of the sturdy chairs has a beautiful lyre back; there are 2 chairs with arms and 4 matching chairs without arms. Seat covers show some minor stains; seats may be easily reupholstered. The table is expandable with leaves. Table pads for the entire length of the table will be included if desired; pads have some staining but can be used under a tablecloth. Table leg supports are beautiful large wood lyres. The china cabinet has a wonderful curved glass door in the middle. The matching buffet has a serpentine front; lots of storage. There is also a serving cabinet. Antique mahogany dining table, drop leaf, gate legs, with pads 4'x6' full size
Antique mahogany dining table with drop leafs and gate legs. There is no maker's mark. But I believe it is from the 1940s. Two standard size side chairs can slide underneath on the ends with leafs down. With both leafs up it can seat 8 comfortably, 10 possible. There is one watermark on a leaf(see pic 4) And the top of one leg has some splitting that needs repairing(see last pic) Other than that there are some light scuffs and scratches, normal for a table of this age. I have a full set of custom table pads that will be included. DUNCAN PHYFE STYLE MAHOGANY DINING ROOM TABLE WITH 5 MATCHING CHAIRS-CIRCA 1945
This fine set belonged to my maternal grandfather. The"Warfield" patent refers to the sliding mechanism which allows removal/addition of leaves. Patent date is 1937. Grampy bought the set in the Philadelphia. Pa.Camden, N.J. area where he worked. Upon his death in 1951 my mother and my Pop inherited it and Ma kept it until her death in 1988. She had all 5 chairs reupholstered a few years before her death. The table has been in my dining room since 1989. The set has had very little use as it is used for meals perhaps 5-6 times a year. Table has been covered at all times. A light application of canola oil has rendered the few surface scratches virtually invisible. Compare the 1st photo after the oil with photo# 2 taken before the oil. Dimensions- Table is 55" long with the four leaves. No 5th leaf but I do include the half-inch ... morepaddings which can be placed under a tablecloth. Two photos of the green topped pads are now posted. Some discoloration on center pad which is long dry and does not mar table surface. With two leaves down the table is 24.5" long. Width is 38" and height is 28" The four regular chairs are 36" high. legs are 16" long. The armchair is 37" high and the arms are 10" up from seat and are 15" long. The cushioned seats are 18" back to front and 23" wide at the front. One of the four chairs has a broken slat. It has been repaired once but broke again. I am not sure if another"repair" would work. Nonetheless. With armchair and 3 intact chairs, the set provides comfortable seating for four people. The photos of the leg bottoms show scratching on two chairs and minimal scratching on the other three. The curved, double clawed feet table legs are in very good condition with negligible nicks/scratches. I don't know the manufacturer but this set has been in the family since right after WW II and it has held up well. Up for auction is a great vintage mahogany dining room set with table and 6 chairs. They were purchased in the 40's and I'm not sure of the brand-Duncan Phyfe style? I am listing this for a family member who needs it moved and I am in another state. The pictures don't do it justice. I couldn't be there to take them and someone else took them and sent to me as they are not computer literate when it comes to pictures. That being said. The pictures are a bit light and have some flash spots. I believe the wood is quite a bit darker as well as the chair covering. Large mahogany oval-shaped dining table with four side chairs and four arm chairs. Comfortably seats eight and comes with two leaf extensions. Bow-shaped, break-front China cabinet with glass doors, four storage drawers below and two shelves on each side for plenty of extra storage for linens, etc. The China cabinet holds a full set of China. Large Elegant Victorian adjustable table has gadrooned edge + Carved Double Pedestal base + 2 wide leaves(18" It is 70" long(106" opened) x 44" wide x 29 1/2" tall. Good original used condition. Top has some usage marks but not bad, the pedestals have been stabilized at joints with metal straps. The solid mahogany shield-back chairs have carved Fleur-de-Lis design. Two arm-chairs are 26 1/2" wide x 19" deep x 38" tall with 18 1/2" seat height. This is a Fabulous Antique. Handmade, 1700s/1800s*ALL HAND Carved/Sculpted WOOD Table/Nightstand/Book Case* Not only a fabulous table from days gone by. That will fit just about anywhere, but very functional in any room or entryway, as it has the top and lower shelf that can hold books, pictures, dishes, food, towels, linens, lamp, photos, whatever you would want. On both ends. It has wood slots, that you can push in or out, and is perfect for holding magazines, books, letters, remotes, table linens, bath linens, or other things. They also slide up and down, and have a lovely hand-cut out pattern in the centers. see photos) A super sturdy table. No wobble whatsoever. Will last for many more generations! You are viewing an unusual Mahogany + Laminate Extension Dining Table. With a design attributed to Paul McCobb for Calvin c1950s. This great-looking design features a top finished in faux walnut laminate, two 12" leaves that drop in near the ends and a base of bleached mahogany with horizontal strut supports on the underside. Believed to be Paul McCobb(but unmarked)the credenza out of the same house(which has the same struts underneath) was McCobb. In very good vintage condition.faux walnut finish was added in the early 1960s.the leaves have some wear to the edges where the metal dowels connect(not visable when closed)some scuffing to legs.
