The base measures approx. 5" x 4 3/4" with drilled mounting holes that measure 3 5/8" and 4" center to center. The wheels move freely and are covered in surface rust. I have left them exactly as found not knowing if someone wants the aged patina. They need a good cleaning and grease. The only defect I can find is a small chip in one of the wheels.see the photo) I'm not sure if it's an old chip or defect in the casting. Two of the wheels appear as though the holes weren't drilled through after the casting. The wheels are the largest I've seen and with a weight of almost 11 lbs. each. Vintage Barrel Platform Mfg. Industrial Factory Mill Rolling Carts Coffee Table
This is a great 2 wheel barrel carrier. It is in very solid condition. The arms can be taken off so that it can be used as a piece of furniture(coffee table) The arms do not look original to me but are quite old. The advertising is in great condition. There is a heavy duty pin at one end of the cart that is meant to be adjustable. There is a set screw that holds it is place. The screw is very rusty and will need a bit of TLC to loosen it. That pin would allow the cart to sit flat and be used as a table base. I propped up the cart with a round block of wood that is not included in the sale. The advertising on the cart reads Barrel Platform Mfg. Co Lynn Mass USA. The cart measures 16" wide x 14 1/2" tall x 33" long with the handles off and 54" long with them on.

I love this trunk! There are a few on line for sale in the UK and on 1 st Dibs but you don't see these available for sale very often on eBay. It is currently being used as a coffee table and is packed full of the owners photographs so it makes very useful storage too. I have done some research and it looks as though it may have been made back in England late 40's early 50's. The interior has a faded red fabric lining and a top tray also lined in the same fabric. I looked behind the lining and the trunk is thin wood under the aluminum. It measures 40" long by 20" deep by 21" tall. Leather handles on both sides. One is a little dry. The center latch won't stay up on its own and there isn't a lock. The 2 side latches work. It is covered in scratches on the top and has a water stain. Incredible antique industrial cart. This would make a wonderful coffee table. This is not like the ones you typically see on Ebay or Craigslist or Antique stores. This one is larger and much more impressive. It measures 6 feet long by 3 feet wide. Plus it sits 15 inches tall. It has four rubber and metal tires, and even though it weighs around three hundred pounds, it basically glides on it’s wheels. The color is a rusty olive drab green. It was built by WELD-BILT and was used by some company called MWCO Oakland. This is all completely original with the exception of one 6 inch axle bolt and nut which I replaced because it was missing. These carts were routinely used by Factories and railroads for moving large heavy items. What an awesome coffee table or display table this would be. Townsley Industrial Factory Railroad Cart Coffee Table Vintage Antique Restored
The cart was found in a former furniture factory located in western North Carolina and acquired for restoration utilizing methods to preserve its original character. This cart sanded. Hardware cleaned and painted with original bolts and nuts used as much as possible. This is the only Townsley I have currently. Top is reclaimed white oak(matches original wood rails as all original wood was white oak) from old fence rails Similar smaller Lineberry carts sell for $995 at Restoration Hardware.
