This offering is for an amazing heavily flame mahogany grain two drawer drop leaf on convexed eight sided tapered column leading to a four sided base standing on graceful Ogee Elephant feet. This fine work table is in wonderful condition only having some typical veneer loses around some of the Ogee feet's side profiles from crotched veneer flaking with almost 200 years of New England climate changes(an issue our woodworker will expertly address prior to this piece leaving ... moreour shop) and a slight warping to its top. This is another issue not terribly uncommon to this particular fashion of early 1830's Empire work tables due to the secondary woods used by period cabinet makers under the heavily grained flame mahogany veneer. I found an ad that was dated 1931 in the book"Hoosier Cabinets" By Philip Kennedy that is very similar. This is a genuine Hoosier brand. See picture with label on bottom of chair. The dimensions of the table are: 23" x 37" with the leaves down. And 42" x 37" with the leaves extended. The chairs are complete with no missing rungs or stretchers. However. American Chippendale Antique Drop Leaf Dining Table, Pennsylvania or Delaware
American Chippendale Walnut Drop Leaf Dining Table. Pennsylvania or Delaware c. 1760-80 Probably Delaware River Valley. Originally One of a Pair Straight Marlborough Legs Item# 130002IWT18 The drop leaf dining table was a very prominent form in homes of the higher classes during the Chippendale and Federal periods. A working solution to the problem of balancing space with flexibility in a home that entertained company regularly. It allowed for tables to be posed as pier or serving tables against the wall, making the room large and inviting during a social engagement, these being brought out as needed to recreate a dining room. This table was almost certainly part of a pair originally. Two sets of bracket holes on one leaf evidence of clasps that would have attached to the leaves of the other table to create a solid surface. A pair of tables ... morevery similar in form, though crafted with solid board leaves, was offered at Christies in 2003( Lot 322. Sale 1189, sold as a pair for $13,145) Intact pairs of this form are rather uncommon as these were regularly broken up as they were passed down in families. The top is crafted of five boards butt-jointed with tongue-in-groove joinery assisting in all but one leaf. This probably a later solution to the uneven shrinking of the boards, secured from the underside with butterfly dovetails. The leaves hang over ruled joints, lifting on two swinging gate legs, the frame and knuckle crafted of solid oak double pinned to the square Marlborough leg. The oak rails are affixed with scattered rosehead nails to the poplar frame rails coupled with one original hand filed screw set in wells into the top on both sides, these boards joined to the mahogany front and back rails with exposed dovetails behind the gate legs. Three dovetailed walnut braces join the frame to the top, these absent several screws, the top likewise secured with three hand filed screws set evenly in wells through the mahogany front and back rails. The stand is solid mahogany and features dove-tailed drawers with rounded drawer faces and wooden knobs. This is not a reproduction piece as is evidenced by the alligatoring of the 19th century varnish. The stand shows no signs of having been repaired and no cracks or splits in the wood. There are some faint marks/scratches and dinks here and there- all commensurate with the age of the piece. Please see super sized images to appreciate the full condition of the stand. This auction is for a pretty solid mahogany Double Drop Leaf Pembroke Table from Scotland. These are also referred to as"farm style" tables. It's a nice older table that is in good overall conndtion for it's age& travels. It has brass casters. So it can be rolled around. It has a useful drawer in one end of the table. It has pretty Victorian Turned Post legs. It would look good in any breakfast nook or faamily room. It would also go great in a small cabin, condo, apartment or lake house due to it's size and it's ability to lower the leaves. It probaly was made around the turn of the century if not before. Antique Vintage Maple Drop Leaf Dining Table.
Pick up only. Much to heavy and large to ship. Antique maple wood drop leaf dining table. The wood is very pretty. There is a leg underneath the table that swings out on both sides to make this a very large table. The table does show some wear and is not new or perfect but is very usable the way it is. On top of the table on one side a small area of the wood seems to be a little seperated. Not bad at all in my opinion, but I wanted to mention. I prefer cash at the time of pickup but will accept paypal too.

Georgian Victorian country oak drop leaf gate leg table
Charming solid oak drop leaf gate leg table in a country style. Probably dates to around the turn of the 19th Century but hard to be sure with a table of this type. The table includes a useful drawer that looks to be original. Although it may have had a new handle added at some point in its life. Table is structurally sound for its age but has two areas of damage to the top(see pictures) and could do with a little wax here and there- i have tried to show these rather than cover them up so you know what you are getting. But they could be remedied by a decent French polisher, covered or just ignored and taken as part of the history of the piece. Typically for a piece of this age there is some evidence of woodworm but looks very old. This makes a great kitchen or occasional table. Fits neatly in an alcove or at the end of a sofa, and of course ... morethe flaps give full flexibility. Dimensions are(fully extended) 42.5 inch/108 cm x 33.75 inch/86 cm top x 27.5 inch/ 70 cm high. Fully closed it is 14 inches deep. Collection in person or a man/van from London E5(I've had to put a postage cost but it's far too big to post! Alternatively i can recommend a courier. Miniature Country Birch Drop Leaf Table in Original Finish Primitive
Very nice miniature or child's size drop leaf table with turned legs. The table is made of birch and has the original finish. The top and leaves are all single boards with rule joint edges. The table is constructed just like a full size table. It has a mortised apron with glue blocks in the corners(1 missing) and 2 pull out slides to support the leaves. The table has cast iron hinges and wonderful color on the bottom side. There is an old glued crack at the top of one leg as seen in the photograph and a small chip on the bottom ring turning of another leg. If you like country furniture in great condition that has not been refinished this is it in miniature form. It proportionally matches a full size table. The opening bid is what we paid for it 8 years ago. The table top is 12" long x 5 3/8" wide. The leaves are 3 1/4" ... morewide each. With the leaves up the table is basically 12" x 12" It is 10" tall. With leaves down the table is 6 1/2" wide.

I'm not great at identifying wood, but I'm pretty darn sure that this is all maple. 1898 Antique Oval Maple Drop-Leaf Table and 6 Chairs
This versatile and graceful maple drop-leaf table and 6 chairs was purchased at Paine Furniture Company in Boston MA in 1898. I am only the second owner. Having purchased it in 1976 from the original owner. I had the table and chairs professionally refinished and the cane seats replaced in 1979. The cane is still in perfect condition with no breaks or sagging. The table has 5 carved legs and solid brass hardware to secure the table opening. The table top finish has a faint difference in the tone where a table runner had been. The chairs have normal wear but no serious damage. Two chairs have water spots on the wood edge of the seats, which should be easy to fix with a wood tint and polish. The 3 table leaves come with their original upright wood storage crate. Drop-leaf Duncan Phyfe table + 6 rose back chairs. I do not know whether it's an authentic Duncan Phyfe or just Duncan Phyfe style table. I have read that very few of his tables were marked and it's nearly impossible to tell. The antique dealer that we purchased the table from felt the quality and craftsmanship were consistent with Duncan Phyfe. It is very sturdy for a drop-leaf table. Table has 3 leaves& complete set of felt pads. The felt pads are in great condition. Table is 40 inches wide and extends to 94.5 inches long. The table is in original form& as not been refinished. There are some scratches on top but it still looks fabulous. Chairs all recently upholstered. 2 chairs have a slightly different rose pattern- see picture. The upholstery was done within the past two years& is in great condition. The backs of the ... morechairs could use a little gluing but are still useable in their current form.
