The green caps on the legs are plastic and some are damaged(see pictures) most of the damage is on the inside of the leg so it really can't be seen unless you are looking under the table. I do think that the legs are easily removed so the caps can be changed if you like. The table comes with 2 excellent condition matching leaves. Victorian Gothic oak dining set with table, leaves, sideboard, and master chairs
This Gothic or Jacobean Revival dining room furniture has been in our family for around 100 years. It has been immaculately maintained and always used by the family. Never placed in storage. Gorgeously carved with ornate hardware, the set was professionally refinished around 1994 by a master craftsman. The two master chairs survive, along with one side chair. This is a massive set made of solid oak and suitable only for large dining rooms, which is the reason we are selling it. The table as pictured does not have the leaves attached. When the leaves are inserted at each end, the table nearly doubles in length and will easily seat 10 to 12 people. We no longer have the room to use the table as it was meant to be and are letting it go. Approximate measurements are given below. Please examine all pictures, I tried to photograph the issues. There are some marks, scratches, and puppy bites, but the set is well constructed from a premier company, so its solid, and sturdy. The table is versatile, 42" round with two 12" leaves to expand it out to 66" Includes 4 matching chairs, one has captains arms. The seats are currently green jacquard fabric covered with plastic, the plastic needs replaced. Also includes a full set of table cover pads. The bottom of the chairs are dated 7/60 and the bottom of the table is dated 2/61. Issues: There is a trim strip missing on one table leg. If you're good at wood working, you could probably borrow ... morea trim strip from the back side to replace it, so it's not noticeable. There wear to the chair arms and backs, which you will see in the photos. Also, one of the chair legs was chewed on by a little dog. One of the table pads has a hole on one of the edges. Thomasville Double Pedastal Dining Table with 8 Chairs and 2 Leaves and Pads
Elegant double pedestal table and 8 chairs with 2 leaves and a full set of heavy protective pads. Of the 8 chairs. 2 are Captain's Chairs with armrests. Double pedestal tables are particularly solidly constructed. The heavy protective pads have been on top of the table for its entire life except to add leaves and clean. Table and chairs and buffet(not included) cost about $5000 in 1969 when Thomasville quality was exceptional. Table without leaves is 68" x 44" x 30" with leaves it is 104" x 44" x 30" each leave is 18” wide) Condition of table and chairs is excellent except for a 2-3" scratch at the edge of one of the leaves. The table is quite stable and expands easily, although not terribly smoothly. I have two leaves that I purchased separately from the table. They fit fine, but their finish did not match the table when I purchased them and I have never gotten around to the simple job of refinishing them; in one of the photos, you can see that the two leaves are darker than the rest of the table. We often expanded the table using one or both of the leaves and covered the top with a tablecloth. The table is 27.5” high and measures 42” x 42” without the extra leaves. It has 4 leaves that each measure 10 1/2" The leaves are significantly darker than the table. They have been stored in a closet for many years. I'm not sure if the table has been refinished at some point. This table does not have the Quaint Stickley brothers label. But I'm told it is Quaint Stickley Bros. The chairs(that do have the Quaint Stickley label) are being listed separately. I would be happy to send additional photos upon request. Up for auction is a MCM dining table with four chairs. They are in in good vintage condition with the normal scuffs and wear. The chairs have been newly recovered in a leopard upholstery fabric. The table sides fold down and there are 3 additional leaves that measure 12" wide. The table measures 38" X 57" without any leaves. At 133.5″ long and 39″ wide it has a pleasant shape to it. The three leaves are each a different size which allows for plenty of choices for how long you have the table. They measure 23″ 16″ and 22.75″ respectively. With no leaves in, the table measures 71.75″ long. The leaves are supported by two wooden beams that run the length of the table. These beams are removed and stored elsewhere when all the leaves are removed. Two Duncan Phyfe style three leg pedestal bases support the entire table. They are sturdy, strong, and look great! At the end of each foot is a brass claw foot and caster. This long antique dining room table is in very good condition. Both the beams and one of the leaves(the 23″ one) appear to be newly made leading us to believe this piece was recently restored in England. The pedestals both exhibit dings and minor marks on the legs. The top is in extremely good looking condition. Another reason we believe the piece to have been restored. Beautiful high quality dining table with(2) leaves and(8) chairs. Originally purchased at Harrod's in London. The legs are over-sized Queen Anne style. Modern and hip with a nod to the past. The top of the table is distressed with patterned burl wood veneer panels. Cutlery drawers at each end are convenient to store napkins/napkin rings or whatever the host needs to have handy. The chairs are wide and sturdy. And uber comfortable- 2) arm chairs, and(6) side chairs. The chairs also have a nice curve at the top, reminiscent of a violin scroll. Vintage BERKEY & GAY Dining SET 6 Chairs TABLE 2 Leaves MEDITERRANEAN Style
Offered without reserve is a Vintage Berkey& Gay Dining Set manufactured in the U.S. sometime prior to 1940(the year that Berkey& Gay closed) Six chairs are included in the set- One Captain's Chair(with arms) and Five standard chairs. The table measures 60 inches long without the leaves. And 45 inches wide. The leaves are each 12 inches.bringing the installed length to 84 inches. The table has minor condition issues as follows: There is a stain from a hot serving tray on the table surface which is not offensive, but should probably be refinished.there are also a few thin slivers of veneer missing along the table edge and one area of lifting veneer that should be glued down. There is evidence of a split in the table's center leg(post) which does not effect the structural integrity of the piece. The chairs are in great condition- ... moresturdy and solid as the day they were fabricated.the upholstery is likewise in great condition(possibly replaced fabric) This is one of 3 pieces from this nearly antique set that I'll be listing this week. Baron's signature ebonized wood inlay stripe is a design element of this parsons style table. Modern. Minimalist, rich deep wood graining and color. metal hardware and rails. Square legs(do not detach) Table needs some restoration. CONDITION: Table has some deep impressions in wood as shown. One corner has noticeable damage and two other corners have minor chips. One leg is a bit loose. Table should be refinished if for resale. Other leg and edge abrasions. DIMENSIONS: Smallest dimensions are 41" wide x 66.5" long. Fully expanded with two leaves: 106" long x 41" wide.
