This was bought overseas, and like most items from Europe, it is not signed: no label. But, it is Knoll; the weight and concrete like fill in, in the bottom, are signs of authenticity. It weighs over 36 Lbs. It has, as you can see, yellowing from the years, on the upper part of the stem, as well as yellowing underneath, along with slight cracking/crazing on the surface and fingerprints, shown in pics 7& 8. The base is 16 3/4" in diameter. This will ship freight or Greyhound Express. The cost for freight will probably be cheaper and safer than having it packed professionally and shipped GE. I have used shippers such as Plycon and TSC and 7 day shipment auction to get the best cost for my buyers. Feel free to ask me for an approximate shipping quote. I think this could get up the East Coast for $100 or so. Out west. Maybe slightly higher. I prefer freight because I have had UPS damage a couple of high end chairs lately and have found freight to be much more affordable and safer, if you can wait a little longer. Danish Modern Niels Moller Teak Dining table with two removable leaves
This is a gorgeous teak mid-century dining table. The table is a vintage 1970s teak Danish modern table designed by Niels O. Moller and was made by the E. Valentinsen Company. I have done some research on this table and have found that its original retail sales prices was around $8.500. The table has beautiful woodwork, brass fittings and hinges. Fitting neatly inside the table are two leaves(18.5" each) which expands the table up to 101 inches(over 8 feet) You can insert one leaf or both. In its compact state it is 63" long 40" wide. The trestle legs have a lovely angle to them and have beautifully rounded feet. The finish is a lovely honey color with alot of depth. Overall, the table is in good condition. There 2 wood slides on each side to hold up the drop leaves. There are only 2 matching chairs with this table. The cushions are ok in average condition. This is from the late 1950's or early 1960's. This is a gorgeous and very hard to find Gudme Mobelfabrik made in Denmark table. It is golden oak. Much less common than the standard teak danish modern tables he created, and it has traditional column legs instead of the more common curved legs. The table top needs refinishing due to some staining and wear, but the rest of the table including the pull out leaves on each end are in very good condition. Dimensions are 37" across, 29" tall, 5' 3" long, and 9 feet long with both self enclosed extending leaves pulled out. This would be quite a statement piece for any danish modern furniture collector. Mid century modern oak dining/conference table and chairs Danish/Eames
This is an unusual set of chairs and table that could be used as a conference table and chairs or a dining room set. The workmanship is outstanding; there is no maker's mark or company label- only what appears to be a customer's name(Borgia? written in pencil on one of the chairs. The table measures 39" wide x 60" long- 80" with leaf. It is a refractory type table which says dining to me- meaning the leaf pops up from the middle when the sides are spread open. On the other hand. All the chairs have a metal inset on the edges of the back and arms(see photo) that says conference set to me. My best guess is that it was custom made. Notice the way the back has a circular shaped inset to form the curve- a much sturdier design then other curved backs that I have seen. The upright arms give it a modern look. I also cannot ... moretell you it's country of origin- no makers mark or tell tale design. Age unknown too! Sorry I have so little info. There is wear and scratches to tabletop(It is over 60 years old) and the largest spot is about 5" wide- looks like maybe water glass damage. This damage is shown in the next to last picture. This is a fantastic teak/rosewood Danish modern butterfly leaf table. I have not been able to verify the maker. But. I bought it from the original owner and she said it was bought as a set with six Niels Koefoed Eva teak and rosewood chairs(seen in pics# 11-12) Very similar tables were manufactured by Skovby as well. The chairs will be sold in another of my listings and I will be happy to sell them as a set. This table has one of the easiest to extend mechanisms I've seen. One person can unlatch the table and easily separate the top, exposing the leaf that is stored underneath. With an easy lift, the butterfly leaf opens and falls into place adding another 20" to the table. The chairs had two sets of upholstery on them; an 80's reupholster that went over the original camel colored leather. The original camel colored leather was beyond repair. I also had 1" of cushion inserted, and even though the original straps were still okay underneath I went ahead and had them replaced, too. There are some slight scuffs on the chair legs. Vintage 60's Mid Century Modern Danish Modern gateleg dining table& chairs. Tambour door enclosed storage area with green felt lining that stores chairs away. Includes three chairs. I believe it to be a walnut veneer. Made in Romania- faint stamp mark to underside of one chair. Measures 28 1/2" H x 61 3/4" W x 34" D when fully opened up. Each fold up leaf is 25 1/2" W- the center area is 10 3/4" W& the full width with both leaves folded down is only 13" Perfect apartment size dining table that can be used with just one leaf up or also function as a console table when not in use. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Everything I sell is vintage. It has lived a former life. Wear is to be expected and consistent with decades of usage.
