It has bronze pulls on the drawer and the drawer is dovetailed. There are scratches and wear consistent with age and gentle use, and some minor blemishes. Lovely Antique Oak Barley Twist English Table
Lovely Antique English Barley Twist Table. This table could be used as a night stand. End table or a plant stand. It measures 30" tall by 19" wide by 17" deep. There are VERY small nails on the top of the table that attach the top of the table to bottom. There is also a leg that has been fixed(a long time ago) that can be seen in one of the pictures. I have owned this table for at least 25 years and I had compet ely forgotten about the leg being repaired. I had it to face the wall. I am happy to answer any questio ns you may have. I bought it from a sweet older couple from New York who now live in Palm Harbor, FL. The husband explained that it was his Grandmother's first then his mother had it. He said his Grandmother got it around the time she was married and he couldn't remember if it was 1897 or 1898. The condition is superior. It has been well cared for for 115 years by the same family. ... moreThe oak grain is beautiful and the only flaws are: on the bottom of one of the round feet. Someone cut off a section of the very bottom so that it would fit closely next to something.however, it still is level because they cut off only a section, not the entire tip(please see the last pic) The other flaw is that there is a hair line split on the top where the wood has a miniscule separation. I had to inspect closely to find this. This table requires no restoration whatsoever. Has beautiful detail in the grain. Measurements are as follows: Oval Top is 32.75" long x 18" wide 27" tall from floor to top middle decorative shelf is 7.25" wide x 16" long with scrolling lower 2 round shelves are 10.5" in diameter. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE OAK TABLE SET IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
This is a beautiful well cared for table that has been refinished with a durable surface. It has four carved claw feet at each corner and a center leg for support. The dimensions are 42" X 42" The table opens and has 2 leaves that extends its length to 66" The legs are all fluted and 4 have carved claw feet. The center leg does not have a claw foot. Their are 4 chairs and they have spindle backs and have a leaf motif that embellish the top portion of the back. They have rec ent ly been recovered with a c ush ion ed seat. These cushions can be removed which will reveal the o rig inal caning sea ts that were there. However the caning will ha ve to be r eplaced. I think 2 of them are s till in tack but are prob ably on the i r way out. T he option is there if that's the look you' re after. Tel: 01432 357753 Description: This is a very attractive late 17th Century antique English oak baluster turned leg. Single frieze drawer side/ centre/ hall table. The table stands on turned bun feet, rising over this are the plain stretchers and lovely rich coloured baluster turned legs, having a moulded frieze and the drawer having a very decorative punched and chip carved decoration either side of the moulding and a matched punched decoration in the moulding of dog tooth designs. The drawer has pine linings and oak side rails, with the drawer runners cut into the side of the drawer frame. The table is surmounted by a solid oak top with cleated ends(which are a later repair) The table has a beautiful rich antique patination. A ... morelovely original antique country oak table suitable as a hall, side, centre, writing table or desk, of classic joined construction with mortise and tennon joints with dowels. Date: The table dates circa 1650- 1750- 17th- 18th Century. Condition: The table is in good condition for its age. There is some gnarling in one of the feet with minor distress marks to leading edges. There are some old woodworm holes and a little filler has been used in the side rail of the drawer. Nothing structural but worth a mention. The table is around 200- 300 years old therefore has character to reflect its age. There is a little lifting to one of the cleats in the timbers and the top is pegged in the corners, where the top meets the legs. The drawer front has a couple of pieces of wood'let in' over time. Again this all adding to character and authenticity. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this model of a tiger sawn oversized library table. ... moreYou can call it a conference table or a library table, but I call it one gorgeous table. It is so heavy. It comes apart in four pieces, the top is actually tiger sawn oak veneer over a laminated ash top that is 1-7/8 inches thick. There’s a seam down the middle where someone must have cut it and then re-glued it to put it into a home because it’s so heavy, without realizing that it’s manageable if you take it apart first. We brought it back from the estate from which we purchased it, stripped it, sanded and stained it, made sure that the seam in the middle was perfectly sound, reinforced the base and the top to make sure it was all good, then refinished it in a beautiful medium amber oak stain. The table dates from probably the 1890s– 1910s, and has a wicked thick round-cornered top, a double column pedestal platform shoe base that is 4 inches thick, big turned spindles in the center, and is joined together with a big cross member. The size of the table is 86 inches long, and it goes across 48 inches across, and is 31 inches high. I am a spread-out type person, myself, and I have a similar table in my office. Locks and key, standing on turned baluster tapered legs and brass castors survives from the late Victorian period. The condition is mainly good. C1880 ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FRENCH OAK HUNT TABLE SOLID CARVED FRUIT ACANTHUS LEAVES
Here is a really cool French 19th century Breton solid oak table with a slightly oval top with gadrooned carved edge over an inset apron and mounted on a superbly carved scroll leg quadrupled base. The base has various fruits and lots of acanthus leaves and C scrolls of the period which may be as early as 1860. Width = 45" Length = 41" closed) Length = 83 1/2" open) there are no leaves. However, leaves could be easily made) Height = 28 1/2" When pulled open. There are four solid turned legs which drop down to support the table ends. When the table is closed, these legs are just tucked up underneath the table along with the slide mechanism. The locking mechanism which holds the two sides o the table together is marked"BREVETE" and there is a mark of what looks like 2 crossed keys and two initials possibly VF in ... morethe center of the crossed"keys" This table is in overall good condition. Antique and vintage items by their very nature show normal wear to finish and miscellaneous scratches. Nicks, and dings due to age and use. As we define'good condition' relative to the stated age of the piece, we would expect to see'character marks' consistent with that age and could include nicks or dings on a piece of furniture, normal separation at joints in wood due to expansion and contraction over time. Antique Oak Metamorphic Monks Chair/Table w/Spindle Arms/Carved Lion Head w/Eyes
We are delighted to offer to the market this stunning Monk's chair/metamorphic chair table. This piece dates to the early 1900's. We do not know the maker and any tage were long ago removed. Made from solid oak. This chair is a piece of art as well as a functional conversation piece. The back of the chair slides upward and flat across the arms to transform this piece into a functional table. The diameter across the top of the table is 36" It has a height of 29" The back side of the table which serves as the chair back has finely detailed carving representing a gothic lion head. The face has finely detailed teeth and whiskers. The inset eyes are made from glass and they glow when the light hits them just right. Quite a fascinating design. The ornate carved and scrolled arms have spindles flanking a heavy center pieces. The ... morefront of the chair has turned columns leading down to the seat frame box. Below the frame there is a section section boasting turned legs and straight mission style stretchers. The legs sit on the original brass casters. The arms have a height of 28" to the top of the scrolled area. The chair has a width of 22 7/16" from the outside edges of the arms and 18.5" from the inside edges of the arms. The depth at the center front to the back at the table is 23.75" The seat height is 15" to the wood edge and 20" to the top of the cushion. The cushion is not original to this piece and it is clear that someone did a poor recovery on it. There is some light soiling to the fabric and it is overhanging in some areas. The chair base has some very light surface scratches that are age and use appropriate. The table top also has some light scratches and divets from age and use. Overall the piece is in great condition and is absolutely stunning to look at. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown.
