C3097. this is a very lovely old table and will serve well it's owner for many more decades. it measuress about 42 1/2" x 42" without leaves and stands about 29 inches tall. it will take castors and that would give it a few inches more in height. But it does not have castors on the legs for this listing. it measures about 71 inches when the three solid oak leaves are in place. the leaves are about 9 1/2" wide. the table and leaves are solid oak; no veneer. i think it dates from about 1900 to the 1940's but not sure of that. it has turned legs and is heavy for it's size. thank you for looking and please visit all my furniture in my store. Silversmiths, Liverpool' An solid oak table-top cutlery canteen with heavy brass carry handles. It has two arch panelled doors. With brass knobs and a sprung stud locking system(but no key, alas) which open to reveal 5 fitted drawers, also with brass handles. The doors reveal a brass inlay plate with the name Elkington& Co- as per the above markings. Cutlery people will be disappointed to learn that the drawers are empty and no longer fitted for cutlery. They are beatifully lined with velvet. And it is obvious that this has been used as a collectors cabinet, a function for which it is ideally suited. It has some problems. None of which detract from the overall appearance or function- but this is ... moretoo nice a piece for me to attempt repairs. A piece of wood, about an inch long has been lost from above the door hinge, on the top right hand side, and the solid oak back panels have shrunk, and have been carelessly glued back into place- and stand a little proud. I have a dilemma. In that the previous owner applied trim under the base of the cabinet to fit securely into an'ad hoc' stand. This is a more recent piece of oak, with a ply platform shelf, and was once probably a 1950s side table. It looks quite handsome on this'stand' the difference in colour and grain of wood is not too glaring, and could well suit those who want to use it as a collectors cabinet. I have decided to sell it with the'stand' included in the asking price. But if you do not want the'stand' I will deduct £10.00 from anty final agreed price, and you will likely save a substantial amount on postage- especially overseas buyers. Finally. It follows that those who want to return this to its original form, as a stand-alone table top cabinet, will have to remove the thin wood trims on the base, and(ideally) find some suitable feet- the holes in the base indicate that there w

I have never seen a physician's exam table quite like this before and I suspect that it may have originally been owned by a funeral director and used to display the deceased in their own homes. This was a common practice during the late 1800's but had fallen out of fashion by the 1920's. Most other doctor's exam tables I've seen are adjustable. Antique Wicker Table, Oak Table Top, Nice Condition - Sturdy
This is a beautiful wicker table. The table measures 36" W x 20" D x 29" H. The table weighs 23 pounds before packaging. The top is made of tongue and grove oak boards which are stained in a walnut stain with a coat of linseed oil. I know this because I refinished the top. I found this table at an estate sale. The top was shamefully covered with 1970's fake paneling. I removed the paneling. Sanded the glue and applied 2 coats of walnut(oil based) stain to it. I also applied one coat of linseed oil. There are many tiny finish nail holes on the top of the table from the paneling. The rim of the table and the feet were painted. Not sure if it is the original color or not. But I did not want to disturb the paint. The wicker apron, side legs and cross rail are in remarkable shape. ANTIQUE OAK WOOD COUNTER-TOP OR HANGING CUPBOARD This is an outstanding example of a primitive antique oak wood table/counter top or hanging cupboard. It was removed from a Hanover County Virginia estate. It measures 26-3/4" tall x 14-1/8" wide x 6" deep. Made in the early 20th century. It features a darkened and worn dovetailed case, a single door with a reverse beveled panel, the original brass hinges and knob/latch on the door, a clean interior with four shelves that have from 3-3/4" 9" clearance between them, and a back with two holes for easy hanging. This is a primitive cupboard. But aside from general wear remains in very good condition. The lock is missing, thus the hole just below the latch.
