Each table corner has" Bamboo Style Outline" in each of the 4 corners. When I purchased these tables in 1977. They were supposedly more than 125 years old at that time. They are all hand finished and rubbed until they had a mirror like finish which still exists today. I used only the top, larger table, with the smaller table inset and protruding about 1" for effect. I used them to display Penjing, Miniature and Dwarf Imported Bonsai Trees until I moved to Winnipeg from Montreal in 1987. I sold my entire collection before leaving, but, kept these tables. This is another chance of a lifetime to own some great pieces of history. These are from the 1950’s. The party I bought them from nine years ago were stationed in the Philippines. She was a lover of fine pieces of furniture. When they moved back into the states in the 70's they were brought back to the USA in a crate system. They are all pictured without the glass. But each has a piece of glass made to fit the tops. There are secure tabs to keep them in place. They are made of Teak Wood…beautifully carved! They can be set up or when you put the legs down you can enjoy the beauty of the carved wood. Absolutely gorgeous! I took both inside/outside pics so you get the whole feel of the tables. Fashioned in the Louis XVIth style. They have reeded legs, with the original castors, soft rounded reeded sides and rounded edges. The drawer fronts are embellished with lovely hand carved florals and rondels. Detailed florals figure on the metal knobs of both the drawers and doors. The drawers are very nicely dovetailed- a sign of quality craftmanship. Hand carved florals also figure on the four corners ... moreof the 2 doors. They retain the original bevelled marble tops which are a soft tannish/dessert sand( color with dramatic veining- would compliment many color palettes. These nightstands are in very good antique condition. The marble tops have no cracks or stains. There are a few tiny chips along the edges of both- barely discernible. There is some fading on the sides of the stands. The interiors of the cabinets retain the original white glass/enamel. There is cracking to the glass/enamel lining inside one cabinet and a line crack on the shelf of one cabinet(refer to photos) All that being said. These cabinets really are in wonderful condition, especially considering the age. They are very sturdy. The doors and drawers function easily. They were very well taken care of. Rare Pair of American Federal Mahogany Card Tables Possibly Philadelphia or New England States c. 1790-1800 Item# 130108USB12 This is a fantastic and rare acquisition- a fully original Pair of American Federal Mahogany Card Tables. They probably originate from Philadelphia. Though this form is also found in New York and the New England States. The tops are simply above reproach, each a single solid plank of mahogany with stringer inlay along the outer edges; the curved ovolu corners are sharp and precise, the boards each displaying magnificent dense grains and lifting over original untouched hinges. Brilliant mahogany veneers are edged with cockbead molding applied along the lower edge. All four legs have great form, these a distinctive evolution of the Marlboro leg with a well developed taper. Beneath the mahogany veneers. The sides of the ... moretables are crafted mostly of white pine with some solid mahogany; the back gate leg is oak and the back of the frame is white pine. The gate leg is affixed to the back of the frame with eight wrought nails on one table, seven wrought nails on the other. Original blocking is retained on one table, the other crafted without this blocking- interior structure shows no evidence of the table ever having been crafted with the blocking, which was probably deemed superfluous in light of the remarkable strength of the structure. Another minor variation between the tables is the gate leg: one table has a double pinned tenon joint, the other table crafted with the same tenon joint but only using glue. For any serious collector of fine American Federal antiques. This is an exceptional pair of card tables. 3 piece Antique Nesting Tables in Rosewood
Set of 3 Antique Nesting tables made of Rose Wood. These are in fair condition but original beautiful hand carved designs on tops of each table. The legs have the tongue and grove method to attach them and then straight edge screws were used to mount the legs to the top. Some glue has been used. Not sure if that is original. There are a few small finishing nails used as well to secure the legs. All seem original accept one nail was used on the largest table top to secure the leg. Photo is above. Table tops show some wear from the years and have a few scratches as the photos show. Not sure if they have been restained or if it is original. The legs all seem to be in great condition, a little loose at the joints. One leg on the largest table has a crack and I have a photo above. It does not appear to be all the way through the board. The original finish is in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain their warm patina. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of antique(early 20th century) petite. French styled tables. These beautiful tables are mahogany and have a crackled and chipping, painted finish. The tables have tiered tops with turned wood supports. The tables have turned wood columns and Duncan Phyfe legs. The tops are in the original wood finish with no paint. The pair is quite lovely. They are in very good, antique condition. The tops have some evidence of use, i.e. water marks, and some scratches. These are not distracting and blend quite nicely with the character of the tables. One of the table tops shows the seam where the wood was connected. It is not cracked or loose, and the top is quite sturdy. The tops have a good coat of polyurethane. A unique/rare SET. I have 3 nesting tables that MATCH the Tea Cart. You can usually find one or the other but not both! Marquetry inlay with high gloss varnish. Great set in excellent condition. Supposedly from Germany but I think probably Italian from my research. 3 nesting tables all match and the smallest table has a music box that plays when opened(It has a lock that I don't have a key for) The tea cart brass has some tarnish-i have not tried to clean it as I'm not an expert and don't want to ruin it. 2 Mahogany side tables. Leather tool top with 2 separate curved front drawers with original pulls. Inside has the Mahogany Association Sticker attached. Both pieces are numbered#144. If you have a piece of Mahogany furniture made prior to 1969. It probably has a Mahogany Association sticker on it certifying that it’s genuine Mahogany and not a lesser wood dyed to resemble Mahogany.
