Here is an Antique or Vintage PAIR of Chinese Inlaid Nesting Tables made with Mother-of-Pearl. And Jade or Semi-Precious Stone. These beautiful tables are made of black lacquer with gold painted trim and have scenes of beautiful Asian Woman inlaid in each one. They have Mother-of-Pearl fans and semi-precious stone throughout. These tables have clear glass on top to protect the carvings. This type of Chinese lacquer table with raised hard stone inlay along with mother of pearl and colored lacquers is a very old craft in China. In the late 16th century this type of work was known as"the work of Zhou" After the(attributed) inventor of the technique-Zhou Zhi. Vintage antique Chinese wooden carved nested nesting tables asian
A friend of my grandmother gave these tables to me. her husband apparently got them from overseas a long time ago but i have no idea where they are actually from. my home is the last place these table fit in. And with two cats and two kids, i've decided they should really go somewhere where someone might better appreciate them. I've seen several sets here and other online places with the exact same trim, but usually have slightly different scenes in them. one thing that stands out is the very cool fighting scene on the top table, it's cooler than most i've seen. the 4 tables are in structurally good condition. And mostly show some sun damage from sitting in a window too long(this is mostly on the back legs and rear trim) there are a bit of superficial scratches here and there, the worst of which is on one conrer of the top ... moretable where somehow my cat decided to bite on it a few times. there is one spot on the inside of one leg that looks like it may have split. But it is not visible from the outer two surfaces and is very solid(it never went through apparently) there is a bit of dust, alot of which will wipe off as seen in the last photo. i wiped one corner with my finger for comparison) i'm listing these for pickup only. Almost certainly from England or Ireland c. 1790-1815. They were used functionally in the home as a lighting device, elevating candles to allow the entire room to enjoy their minuscule illumination. The top is surrounded by a raised lip, turned from the solid and edged with a scalloped rim. Raised over a long and only subtly swelled pillar, the pair are embellished with finely carved waterleaf decorations around the base of the pillar; the waterleaf, sometimes mistaken for an acanthus carving, has a long undulating profile with wavy edges and a thin stem along the center. ... moreIt's form is inspired by an ancient aquatic foliage that is currently unknown. It is perhaps most associated with carved furniture of Salem, Massachusetts, employed extensively by carvers in that region for it's distinct Neoclassical appeal- a development over the Rococo preference for acanthus and other swirling foliage. The ogival legs are carved along the knee, each terminating in a hairy paw with tiny nailed toes peeking out along the edges. These legs are affixed to the base with broad dovetails, negating the need for an iron bracket in their sheer girth. Quite attractive and easily incorporated into Chippendale/Rococo and Neoclassical decor. They are a delightful pair with presence and of skilled craftsmanship. Here's a Nice Antique 1920s Art Deco Pair of Tubular Chrome Tables offered at NO RESERVE! The tables are constructed of tubular chrome and a masonite/linoleum or something similar shelves. Each table measures approximately 26 and 1/4" tall by about 18"by 16" They will need a bunch of cleanup as I did not clean them in any way. The chrome has areas of pitting and rust(one of the worst spots shown in picture 8) there is some black paint on the chrome. Which does come off with a fingernail(picture 7) also some schmutz on the top of one which again came off with my fingernail. And of course normal wear and tear like the scratch pictured in the 9th photo. Each table has a numbered label(picture 5) indicating they were in a library or school or what have you. Pair Antique Continental Regency Side Tables or Nightstands w/Drawers and Shelf
Nicely formed. Elegant pair of continental Regency era end tables(or nightstands) with drawers and shelves. The bottom shelves are ringed to support art pottery or vases. These tables have been repaired long ago as can be seen in the pictures. The finish looks to be partially original and partially re-done in the first half of the 20th century. The overall patina is rich and warm. I believe the one drawer has a repaired facing and drawer pull. The drawer pull that is smaller and not circular shaped appears to be older and original. I called Drexel Heritage and was told that this collection(pre Drexel Heritage) was produced by Drexel in the late 1940s. This collection predates their very popular, Mid Century, Touraine collection. The two collections are somewhat similar but the Reveria collection definitely has a more elegant and authentic French design. These tables/nightstands are quite striking. They are in very good condition with only minor signs of age/use. The finish has some surface scuffs and minor chips which add the aged character of the pieces. This could be resolved easily if you so desired. The tables are quite sturdy and are structurally excellent. The pair measures 28.25" tall. The are 20" wide and 13.5" front to back. The opened shelf area is 8.7/8" tall. 14.5" wide and 12" front to back. The drawers have an interior measurement of 11.25" wide, 1" tall and 12" front to back. Antique Cherry Wood Tables Hand Carved in the late 1700's
These two hand-carved Cherry Wood tables have been in my family since George Washington was President. They have been handed down from generation to generation and I have 2 of the 3 table set. Approximately 60-70 years ago. The third table was given to a distant relative and we have since lost contact with. The photo display both tables pushed together to make a larger banquet table. These two drop leaf tables have the additional swing leg making for a more stable. Larger table. Also note that the rope twist(or spiral turnings) are very tight and masterfully done. This table has large drop leaves, and the cherry leaves, which, of course are solid, are quite thick and heavy.

Antique Oriental Nesting Tables Offering an antique set of Oriental Nesting Tables. The outer stain is a dark brown while the recessed interior on top is a much lighter butterscotch stain. Each table's top interior has a hand carved scene and is covered by a glass top. All four tables are intact and in good shape. Although there some scratches here and there but nothing extremely large or deep just likely wear and tear. I do however take the account of scratches into account for the price since they are not in mint condition although certainly antique. Each table, starting with largest to smallest has the following dimensions: The largest table is 20" across x 14" wide x 24" high; the next size down is 16 3/8" across x 12 1/2" wide x 20" high; the third table is 13" across x 10 7/8" wide x 16" ... morehigh; and the smallest table is 9 3/8" across x 9 3/8" wide x 12" high. They all fit within each other accurately stacking under each other to perfectly overlap. We are pleased to offer this very unique pair of antique tables or nightstands. The pair are hand made/crafted from old. Very ornate sewing machine cabinets and drawers. They are constructed of quarter sawn oak with some"Tiger Oak" patterns. The pair have 7 functioning drawers per table. There are 6 beautiful and very elaborate drawers. The drawers are solid wood and a Neoclassical laurel leaf, lyre shaped design. The original wooden knobs are all present and are recessed in the laurel leaf design. The cabinets retain the original, large and ornate appliques on each side, which are also Neoclassical in design. The tables also have a single, large(wide) upper drawer just under the table tops. There is extensive use of beaded oak trim on the front face of the cabinets as well. The beading is seen on the upper, wide drawer and is vertically ... moreapplied as a border for the 6 smaller drawers. It appears that someone salvaged the sewing cabinets and then attached oak tops to create the tables. I don't know how long ago. The hand made nature of the pieces is evidenced by the fact that the table tops are slightly different in size. Other than that, the tables are identical. The tables have metal casters and roll easily from place to place. This is a very interesting and beautiful pair of side tables or nightstands. They have tremendous character. The are OLD but in good condition. There are a few worn areas to the finish and some very minor bumps and bruises. But in general, their condition is very nice. There is nothing that distracts from their beautiful, aged character. The tables measure as follows: TABLE ONE is 20.5" tall. The base is 15.5" wide and 17" front to back. The top is 17.5" wide and 19.1/8" front to back. The drawer faces are 4.5" wide and 4.25" tall. The interior drawer space is 11.25" front to back. 3.5" wide and 3.25" tall.
