The main top actually lifts for the wings to slide in and out. The sliding mechanism for the wings works nicely. There are a couple of spots of wear in one corner of the table that I've shown in picture 7. One of the chairs is missing the two little top caps. The metal chairs have several layers of paint on them. The chairs have been recently recovered but it wasn't a professional job. This is a really elegant. Sturdy, and functional antique walnut drop leaf table with turned legs and beveling along the edges. It is 61" long when both leaves are extended and 40" wide and 28 3/4" high. Quite a heavy piece. There are leg stabilizers(see the last photo) that have been added underneath each leaf to keep the legs from shifting or leaning, though the table is very sturdy. My family has owned this table for at least sixty years and it has seen many family dinners. Discussions, laughter, and sorrows. But I MUST downsize, sadly enough. Very unusual table: This has"swing arms" to hold up the opened leaves; angle-mount. Turned legs; lower shelf& no manufacturing stamp underneath. This appears to have been custom shop made. The finish has typical minor scuffs and discoloration/patina. There are two small reddish marks from an unknown origin. Overall, very nice, receives lots of compliments in the office. The top measures 22"x29 3/4" opened. And 22"x14" closed and is 23" high. This can be well crated. Shipped, but pick-up is preferred.

Here is a pair of original. Antique, supports for the leaves on a drop leaf table. These have been salvaged from a table and are made of cast iron. Probably date from around the turn of the 19th-20th century. Complete except for screws. Light rust and remains of old paint but in great usable condition. The shaft is about 10" long. The two sides of the shaft are pinched together so the shaft can slide through the support bracket to lower the leaf.

Description: Cessna Aircraft Aluminum Drop Leaf Table Polished Chrome Danish Modern 1949 Wow! Post WWII Cessna produced furniture for the public from 1948-1951. When we acquired this table the legs were painted a Pho finish wood grain. Being that we knew how beautiful aluminum looks polished we stripped the baked on paint away to expose perfect aircraft aluminum legs. The legs were completely disassembled and polished to a high chrome finish. The legs have a few dings from over the last 65 years of use(but they are difficult to find) The top is a walnut veneer which was refinished with 6 coats of polyurethane and hand rubbed and polished to a exquisite sheen. A very interesting and industrial feature is that Cessna bolted the table to the legs straight through the top. The bolts are original. We polished the heads to make them pop. This exceptional table was the personal property of Frank Finley Merriam. 28th Governor of California from 1934-1939. He famously defeated the writer Upton Sinclair in the 1934 governor's race. This beautiful Pembroke table graced the Governor's private home in Long Beach Calif. for many decades before being handed down to family members.

This is an Antique Domestic Treadle Sewing Machine Drop Leaf Table Extension Cast Iron Support Arm. This mounts to the bottom of the drop leaf. It is used to hold the extension leaf table in the up position. The end fits a groove on the drawer frame to maintain stability when in the support position. I have pictured it the support and folded positions. This would typically be found with a models No. 3. 4 and"New Domestic" tables from the 1890's. Those styles tables had machine heads were mounted on top with a bonnet(coffin) to cover it. The heads did not tuck into the cabinets like all newer styles. It has an ornate design with copper ends. The original paint is good with some minor nicks and scuffs. It is in good working order. The arm measures 4-1/2" across the top. Not including the copper pivots. Antique Imperial Walnut 2 Tiered Drop Leaf Tea/ Dessert Serving Table/ Cart
Welcome To My Auction Description This tea cart is from an estate sale. It is a beautiful wood grain walnut with two tiers. The top is a drop leaf/ expandable serving area. When folded down it has a walnut and glass serving tray that fits on it. The tray has wood edges and brass handles with clear glass center. The legs of the cart are"turned" It has caster wheels for easy rolling. The wheels are original and I think made of a hard rubber. They do have a bit of flatness on one side for sitting for a long period of time. These wheels could easily be replaced. There is a fold-down handle on one end of the cart for serving.
