Pick up only. Much to heavy and large to ship. Antique maple wood drop leaf dining table. The wood is very pretty. There is a leg underneath the table that swings out on both sides to make this a very large table. The table does show some wear and is not new or perfect but is very usable the way it is. On top of the table on one side a small area of the wood seems to be a little seperated. Not bad at all in my opinion, but I wanted to mention. This versatile and graceful maple drop-leaf table and 6 chairs was purchased at Paine Furniture Company in Boston MA in 1898. I am only the second owner. Having purchased it in 1976 from the original owner. I had the table and chairs professionally refinished and the cane seats replaced in 1979. The cane is still in perfect condition with no breaks or sagging. The table has 5 carved legs and solid brass hardware to secure the table opening. The table top finish has a faint difference in the tone where a table runner had been. The chairs have normal wear but no serious damage. Two chairs have water spots on the wood edge of the seats, which should be easy to fix with a wood tint and polish. The 3 table leaves come with their original upright wood storage crate. Duncan Phyfe style antique drop-leaf dining table and 4 chairs set
For consideration is a solid mahogany antique drop-leaf dining room set in the Duncan Phyfe style. Has 2 pedestals and four chairs. The table has the original Watertown slide mechanism. And was made by Extensole out of Sparta, Michigan. Entirely original, including the brass claw cap feet on pedestals. There are two leaves for this table, making it a 77 inch by 40 inch at its largest(w/the leaves) and 24 x 40 when the leaves are out and sides are dropped. 53 inches with just the 2 sides up. I have easily had 8 place settings when the leaves are in. The four chairs are also solid mahogany. And the pads have a red and green herringbone fabric on them, but they could be popped out and updated with whatever fabric is more appealing to you. Antique Light Oak Drop Leaf Farm Table
Beautiful old Oak drop leaf farm table with legs that are turned spindles and the top is a typical two piece construction that is a tell tell sign of its vintage origin. The leafs are held up by a swinging gate arm(visible in one of the pictures) on both sides. Arms are solid and swing easily. With the leafs down it is a compact size allowing it to fit in any kitchen or small area. There is a slight imperfection on one of the inside of one of the edges and there are some minor scratches on the top. This table is still in better condition than most tables of it's age. If you like restoring antique furniture then this would make a great project. Some of the work is already done because it is somewhat dismantled. The only things missing are the two pieces that hold up the leaves when they are in position but that should be relatively easy to make. It looks as though there is one coat of paint on this. The multi-colored top must have been used for a work bench at one time. There are no drill holes or saw cut marks on the top. For easier and less cost on shipping I will leave it the way it is. I may try and remove the leaves which are attached with 3 hinges each. The measurments are 41" with the leaves extended and 36" wide. Without the leaves extended it is 20" x 36" The height will be 30 1/4" when the legs are attached. Local pickup is available. This is an oversized walnut or possibly mahogany solid wood gate-leg drop-leaf oval table. Which is most unusually oversized, that probably ... moredates from the Victorian era, 1870s to 1890s or so. It has hand-cut dovetails on both lipped drawers on both ends. We brought it in and had to replace a couple of broken spindles on the bottom frame. It had been refinished previously, and our cabinet man Norm put a coat of satin sheen lacquer on top of the existing finish. It measures 54 inches long, and when the 22-inch leaves are flipped up, it becomes 65 inches wide, 54 inches deep, and 30 inches tall. When the leaves and gate-leg braces are down, it becomes a sofa table measuring 23 inches wide. Look at the many turned spindles on the base, hand-cut dovetail drawers, raised panel, with the original period hardware. The gate leg table was designed with 4 stationary legs connected by stretchers and two swing-out or"gate" legs to support the drop leaves on either side of the stationary(middle) panel.The table is 42" wide and 23.5" long with leaves down. Up for auction is an antique Old Hickory drop leaf.Gate leg table with 6 Old Hickory chairs. The table measures with sides down- 24" X 42" each leaf is 21" by 42" and the height is 30" The overall measurement with the sides up is 66" X 42" This is a great set I have had it for over 20 years and have never really had a place for so it was in a closet along with all the chairs. There are a couple little marks on the table top but otherwise it is fantastic shape. The chairs are also in great shape, but there are some weave breaks, nothing major and they have been there since I bought the chairs. It's a beautiful set. I always thought that someday when the seats got really bad I would have them all redone, but never got to do that, because I never used it.
