Antique Empire Drop Leaf Dining Room Table 1800's
You are bidding on a beautiful antique dining room table from the mid-late 1800's. I believe this is a mahogany dropleaf table from the Empire period(circa 1860) Measures 29" high by 40" long. There is a leaf that hangs on each side each measuring 15 1/4" Each leaf is held up by a wooden swing arm that folds out from the center of the table. Table is on a 20 x 22" pedestal base with metal wheels. When leaves are closed. The top measures 40" x 22 1/4" actually 23 3/4" with the edges of the leaves) or 40" x 52 3/4" when open. The table is in excellent condition with only a small chip on the base near the floor and a small crack underneath the bottom of the pedestal base. for sale is a wonderful antique solid quartersawn oak dining table with a hexagon shape split pedestal. the locking mechanism on the table and pedestal works to perfection. the table opens easily and is perfectly level. this table is of the highest quality construction made with the best material available at the time. this table dates to 1904( the date on the back of the mirror of the buffet) and is part of a set that i have. i tried the set on ebay and had no luck in selling it. you would think that a set would bring more than individual pieces. But that is not the case on ebay. i had the set listed at about 1000 less that i will wind up listing the table, buffet, and chairs for. the set was made by abernathe furniture co. of kansas city, mo. and if you google them you will find they were noted for high quality furniture. the table i would ... moresay is in mint condition with no issues to report of missing pieces, damage, failure to function etc. this table is 54 inches in diameter and opens to 80 inches before the pedestal needs to be opened. at 80 inches it will accept two of the 11 inch leaves, making the table 76 inches in length or 6 feet and 4 inches. if desired the pedestal may be released and it will then open to 107 inches and of course will then accept the remaining two 11 inch leaves making the table 98 inches of 8 feet 2 inches. there are glide stop pins on the table runners. if they were removed it appears the table would open to at least 10 feet or more. this is a great table, solid quartersawn oak with the best flake to be found. the quartersaw flake is not only abundant in the solid top but in the pedestal, feet, stretcher, skirt, etc. it also features twisted columns which add a special appeal to the table, these twisted columns are also found on the buffet and chairs. did i mention it has 4- 11 inch oak leaves original to the table. it is supported by turned bun type feet which retain their original metal casters which work to perfection. the table rolls like a wagon on carpet as well as a hard su

Oscar Wilde A Wonderful 17thC English Oak Refectory Table Period: Charles II/Stuart Provenance: Unknown Date: c.1680-1700 Length: 62.5 inches Width: 27.5 inches Height: 29 inches Leg Room: 23.5 inches The seventeenth century oak refectory table having a richly coloured rectangular boarded top with pegged ends on turned baluster legs joined by a low level'H' stretcher. Survives from late seventeenth century Stuart period England. The condition is hugely evocative of its life thus far and as such is not for those who favour perfection but large doses of Stuart period character. There may be later additions and there is a triangular shaped repair to the top which also has bowing. Splits and losses. ... moreThese include a corner section of loss, and two or three cracks running through the top that have widened with temperature changes throughout its years. The underside of the top is a fabulous grey oak colour, expected with oak of this age. LIGHTING AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE WALNUT DROP LEAF DINING TABLE Philadelphia or the Delaware River Valley. C. 1750-70 Item# 130002IWT18 The drop leaf dining table was a prominent form in homes of the higher classes during the Chippendale and Federal periods. A working solution to the problem of balancing space with flexibility in a home that entertained company regularly. It allowed for tables to be posed as pier or serving tables against the wall, making the room large and inviting during a social engagement, these being brought out as needed to recreate a dining room. This table was almost certainly part of a pair originally. Two sets of bracket holes on one leaf evidence of clasps that would have attached to the leaves of the other table ... moreto create a solid surface. A pair of tables very similar in form, though crafted with solid board leaves, was offered at Christies in 2003( Lot 322. Sale 1189, sold as a pair for $13,145) Intact pairs of this form are rather uncommon as these were regularly broken up as they were passed down in families. The top is crafted of five boards butt-jointed with tongue-in-groove joinery assisting in all but one leaf. This probably a later solution to the uneven shrinking of the boards, secured from the underside with butterfly dovetails. The leaves hang over ruled joints, lifting on two swinging gate legs, the frame and knuckle crafted of solid oak double pinned to the square Marlborough leg. The oak rails are affixed with scattered rosehead nails to the poplar frame rails coupled with one original hand filed screw set in wells into the top on both sides, these boards joined to the mahogany front and back rails with exposed dovetails behind the gate legs. Three dovetailed walnut braces join the frame to the top, these absent several screws, the top likewise secured with three hand filed screws set evenly in wells through the mahogany front and back rails. Antique Mahogany Dining Room Table Pineapple Legs w Extra Leaves
This is a nice antique dining room table with extra leaves. Made of solid mahogany wood. It's very heavy. The legs are connected at each end and then down the center for stability and wonderful looks. Large pineapple style carvings on each leg. The corners of the table are cut diagonally for an attractive hexagon shape. Edges are slightly beveled. Lower edges have some inlaid wood. It measures 45 inches across x 60 inches long. There are 2 12 inch leaves to make it measure approximately 84 inches. Table has gears underneath that make it slide easily to open for adding leaves. It is in good condition. Refinishing is an option but not necessary.

This is a beautiful set of 6 antique French damask linen table napkins that dates from the late 1800s/ early 1900s. They were packed away in a bag all starched and cleaned and have been that way for so many years! They were packed away in a bag all starched and cleaned and have been that way for so many years! This is a wonderful quality set perfect for a little Paris fine dining! The set has been worked with beautiful hand embroidered trousseau monograms CJ Each letter is a work of art with the letters embellished with flower blooms and sprigs. Each monogram display measures 2.5" x 2" The damask design has a central cartouche embellished with scrolls and curls around very fine drawn thread work scrolled panels. This is fabulous hand working and very intricately produced. The edges of each napkin echo this work with more drawn thread work scrolls and scrolls and each corner has a small flowers. Any blank spots have a very very fine dotted pattern. Each napkin measures 31" x 27" All are good and strong. This must have been a cherished dining set to have been stored away so well. Antique Solid Cherry Pedastal Dining Table w/Built-in Fold-up Leaf
Refinished in 1982 by my father who was an antique dealer/restoration specialist. This is in very good condition. It has been used as a family dining room table since that time, and thus has a few very small nicks on the edges, and a few very tiny, shallow use indentations on the top. Custom pads(included but very worn because of age) have been used so it has been very well protected. The pedestal has vacuum marks that can be removed, and the pedestal bottom has a few minor shallow nicks, again from daily use. Very well cared for over all and presents well for its age, late 1800's- early 1900's. It is Solid Cherry, thus a very heavy piece. The top has a built-in fold-up mechanical extension that is manually released with a pull-pin on one end and rotates up to be opened out,the two halves of the table top slide to open and close for ... morethe process. The finish is natural cherry wood that has aged. It is NOT stained mahogany like so many of today's pieces. This is a true natural cherry finish. The top is 58.5 inches long x 40.5 inches wide without the extension open. Height of table is 30 inches The pedestal base overall footprint is 35.5 x 31 inches. Diameter of turned legs on base: 12 inches at widest turn. Side drop of table top: 3.25 inches Antique Pedestal dining tables in good condition do not come on the market that often! This is priced to sell because we are moving long distance, need to downsize and lighten the load. If you know anything about solid cherry furniture, you will know this is a great find.

Must sell- NO RESERVE This is a beautiful walnut table with graceful legs and intricate nut carvings on the legs and the skirting. It has quite a few stretchers. So I think it could expand considerably, though we have no leaves for it. We do still have the extra support legs. The casters are solid brass with wood rollers. The top is in good condition given it's age. it does have some water marks and a few black stains- see photos for detail on condition. One of the support legs has cracks due to the wood used, not from age. Note that the leg support mechanism is dovetailed, probably by hand. The table top measures 55 X 41 inches.
