It is in original finish.that appears to be almost a faux tortoise shell with hand etched and gilded ribbons over it.The painting is done over a gesso.and there are cracks and some missing piece of the finish.it is ALL original and OLD. This is the real deal. It does NOT have it's original marble top.and is being sold without a top. The actual top of the pieces could be waxed up and used as it is.it has a wonderful OLD patina.and you can see the mortised construction in the top. This is a beautifully made. Solid wood vanity table with 2 small storage drawers. Intricate carved wood. It has a very heavy marble top. The marble is a pale green celedon color. The marble is in good condition, no stains. The picture that looks like there is an oval stain is actually the light reflected from the mirror. The right drawer pull is a little loose but attached securely. Not noticable except when you open the drawer. it comes with a Matching carved wood mirror. Mirror has some marks near the top bottom. This cabinet is in very good antique condition with no damage of any significance but with the usual small nicks and scratches one sees in 100+ year old furniture. In addition. We did ... morenot plug it in so we didn't do any further damage, the inside looks untouched, definitely no damage by an amateur, all the original components appear intact, it may be a simple fuse or tube, the power cord was replaced at one time, great project radio as only minor issues with the cabinet, the white stripe on the side is the remnants of masking tape, look at the center bottom,this knob controls the loop antenna and works fine, I believe this cabinet was built pre depression as it is insanely heavy and well built,look at all the pics and only bid on what you see, assume nothing, all this being said this radio sold as is to the highest local bidder, no shipping LOCAL BIDDERS: MAY PICK UP ANY ITEMS WON WITH NO FEE. We are offering a hard to find Philco console radio This is a beautiful radio and would compliment any style of house. The radio warms up quickly and has great reception that offer many channels. All lights and tubes are working and chassis is in excellent condition. The cabinet is in excellent original condition. Has one small surface scratch on top.
