Vintage John Boos & Co Butcher Chopping Block Table - Tons of Character Antique
This is a John Boos Vintage Butchers Block table. It came from Owens Store in New Harmony. Indiana. New Harmony is a historic small town in southern Indiana. The town was purchased by Robert Owen, a Welsh Utopian Socialist in 1825. He established a Utopian Socialist Community. This table is well over 150 years old. It had the full original John Boos& Co tag when I purchased it. But it was somewhat damaged in transportation. The last picture is the label before damage. Trust me. I am beyond sick over it. Antique Butcher Block Old Vintage Maple Wood Carved Dovetail Joints Very Nice
Antique. Vintage amazingly well built butcher block in super nice condition, notice all the dovetail glue joints on the entire top(last 2 pix below) and the dent free metal caps. If you have been patient and waiting for a good useable butcher block. Your wait is over. I have sold several of these over the years. but never one in this good of condition, notice all the nice clean beveled edges and corners. As you will see in the pix below the top is not perfect but it is not all chewed up and there are plenty or level spots for placing objects. The glue joints on the legs have opened a little with age but they are still good and solid and should not be a problem. The legs are little shiny because I just got done putting a bit of tung oil on them. I did the same to the top the day before so it is dry for the pix. The block is 30"x30"x ... more29.5" tall. Antique Butcher Block Cutting Bench: 30"W x 65" L x 36.5" H
My father was a butcher and used this maple bench in his store for over 50 years. When I was scrubbing it down one night I asked him when he got it. He said he got it used in 1932. So I would estimate that this is about 100 years old. I mounted some casters and wooden pegs. But all the patina of age remains and the deep valley he carved in it from years of use. I have never seen one like it.

Very unique looking industrial cast iron base with a butcher block style wood top. The base is very heavy cast iron and is the bottom section of an 1880's Victor Scroll Saw. This is a true antique piece that at one point was foot powered. The raised lettering has been painted an antique red and then the entire base has been clear coated so it can stand up to everyday use. The whole table is just about 40" tall so it makes a great bar or bistro table. The but her block oak top is 42" wide and was recently clear coated as well. This butcher block is double the size of average ones and measures 60" X 30" The average height on this is 29" to the top of the block and average block thickness is 9" Previous owner estimated this to weigh over 300# This has seen much use over the years as can be seen in the uneven top. The block is in as found condition and is very solid. Would make a great kitchen island. The top is missing one round plug and part of another one. Local Pickup Only* My wife's mother purchased this from a butcher shop in a small rural Ohio town. In the 1970s. The butcher shop was updating to steel cutting tables, and this rare item went up for sale. It has graced our kitchen for decades, and we have reluctantly decided to sell it, as we need the space. It measures 40 inches long by 30 inches wide by 31 inches tall. The solid maple dovetailed top is 12 inches thick. And the top is reinforced with steel rods. It is very unusual to find one this large and in this condition. We have oiled it regularly, with mineral oil, and have never cut directly on the surface. There are a few knife marks from the original owner, but as you can see, the top is almost perfectly flat and level. It is not pitted and carved out, as are many that you will see for sale these days. It is very heavy. And ... morethe buyer will need to be able to move it out of our house, with a heavy duty dolly. The turned legs fit into the bottom of the block, and the weight of the unit holds them solidly in place. Once it is turned on end, the legs can be removed for transporting.

This Steam Punk coffee table/display bench is created by re-purposing a large piece of what must have been the work counter from an old fabric store as there is part of a yardstick embedded in the front edge of the table. The table is 19" wide by 45.5" long and has an adjustable(by several inches) antique cast iron base that is currently set at a height of 25" Due to the prior use of the butcher block. Apparently as an industrial-type sewing machine table, there were a number of drilled holes, which I have left as part of the piece's history. I decided to use one of the existing holes to wire in a vintage light globe at one end of the table. The fixture can be easily disconnected and removed. Antique. Amazingly well built butcher block in super nice condition, notice all the dovetail glue joints on the entire top(last 2 pix below) and the dent free metal caps. If you have been patient and waiting for a good useable butcher block. Your wait is over. I have sold several of these over the years. but never one in this good of condition, notice all the nice clean beveled edges and corners. As you will see in the pix below the top is not perfect but it is not all chewed up and there are plenty or level spots for placing objects. The glue joints on the legs have opened a little with age but they are still good and solid and should not be a problem. The legs are little shiny because I just got done putting a bit of tung oil on them. I did the same to the top the day before so it is dry for the pix. The block is 30"x30"x 29.5" ... moretall. Solid maple top with all original rods and covers. Turned legs. A basic oil finish with a beautiful patina. Very nice condition. Probably never saw much use commercially because the top is nice and flat. So this table is a useable piece. Really cool rustic looking table. Antique Maple Butcher Block America 1900-1950
I bought this Butcher block approximately 30 years ago at an Antique Country auction. This is a number of solid slabs of Maple wood joined together to create a butcher block. It weighs an estimated 150+ pounds! There are numerous dings and gouges(some deep on the legs) This is to be expected because of the age and the weight of the wood. Please note the pictures to see the imperfections. This is going to be a stunning piece of furniture once it is cleaned up. Tightened up and polished. Measurements are 24”x24” square. Antique French Medium Wood Tone Maple Butcher Block Table 1800 to 1899
A French Butcher Block Table. 19th Century. I quote from an appraisal I had done in 2007: With original labels concours interdepartmental Montlocun, ovins 1re section 2nd prix, the rear splashboard with iron[magnetic] strip above the pieced top, over a front façade with drawer and castellated skirt, all on reed round legs with vase feet, iron strapwork. Condition: With some indentation to the top from use. Provenance: Acquisitions, Charleston, SC. 47" high, 48"wide and 21 1/2" deep. Note: The"indentation at the top" is a charming reminder of the French butchers pounding away on the table for many, many years. The appraised value was $5.600. The skirt became unglued when I last moved it. Caulking is needed between some of the surface maple blocks. The table weighs between 150 pounds. Antique Authentic Butcher Block with Copper Leg Sleeves
For sale. Solid Maple Meat Block, used by my dad for meat processing, measures 36 ½" wide x 24 ¼" deep x 34 ½" high. This meat block has copper plated protector leg sleeves. Asking $650. Good Condition, would make a great kitchen island. The top of this meat block is 90% level, one corner of the block is wore more than the rest, not overly noticable, just from the block being used from one side, and that being the corner used mostly when meat was trimmed out. Recently applied two bottles of Meat Block oil as needed for proper care. The block was dry and the oil enhanced the color and should minus some the cracks shown.
