Antique Oak Spool/Thread Cabinet Goff's Best Braid 3 Drawer Case/Chest
Size is 17" wide by 18" deep at the base. 17 5/8" wide by 18 1/8" deep at the top. 11" tall. It is missing 1 small decorative block on the front left side top and a narrow 3/16" wide strip at the right rear edge. That strip would be an easy to find replacement as they used the same strips to hold in backs of mirrors and glass in doors of cabinets. I don't know if the dropped drawer pulls are original or not but were on it when I bought the cabinet out of an estate 20 years ago. Drawers are sound and solid and finger jointed all around. The lettering on the front drawers is on tin. Finish,lettering and advertising on the rear look all original to me. It is solid oak-not veneer. Not perfect but a nice chest. OMG. This little chest is so HEAVY for its' size! The solid wood construction really does make a difference in weight. Lovely. Well made 4 drawer nightstand or end table chest made by American Drew. It is constructed of heavy. Solid cherry or mahogany. Pretty batwing Chippendale brass pulls and brass escutchen keyholes(they are just decorative) There is a single brass bail handle on each side of the nightstand. There are 4 drawers that slide out for storage and all have dovetailed construction. There is a little metal tree on the right side that is a branding of American Drew. Drawers are nice and clean too. The piece is in very nice condition. Any wear is commensurate with age, it was well taken care of, not abused in any manner. It looks like a new piece of furniture except for two correctable problemss that you can find in the photos and I will do my best to describe. There is a mar on the top surface of the nightstand. Likely from a wet glass or cup. There is some slight roughness over the area of the mark but the wood itself is not raised and does not feel swollen or waterlogged. It could be covered by a table scarf or likely repaired fairly easily. On the front of the bottom drawer, there are two small chips of brown paint missing inside the metal drawer pull. This can be corrected with matching oil paint. Other than these two problems, it is like a new piece of furniture. ... moreThe insides of the drawers and the drawer housings are clean and in perfect condition. They look, feel, and smell as if they have never been used. All joints are tight. There is no wobbliness or unsteadiness. Please take a look at the photos and email with any questions. This is a wonderful seven-drawer chest. Which is really a butler’s desk on the third drawer down, in gorgeous flame mahogany and originating ... morein Denmark. It’s a beautifully made period piece dating from the 1840s-50s. I’m sure it’s been redone at some point because it’s in really unbelievable condition because the finish is so beautiful in person and the grains are very vibrant. The only flaw I can see on this piece is that someone has replaced the backboard or inserted a new backboard cover for some reason on the back of the chest. Other than that, this chest is immaculate. It has its original carved knuckle front feet, the original carved block foot in the back that looks like someone has replaced the feet, but it is all original. It has the seven drawers going down the front with no handles, which is the way Denmark makes them, and the only thing on the drawer fronts is either celluloid or ivory escutcheons, which are all intact. When the third drawer cover is flipped down. It exposes a six-drawer cubbyhole interior that is called a butler’s desk. The butler’s desk is all intact and offers plenty of writing space. This is a mid century Federal style two over two drawer chest. The maker of this piece is unknown. It appears to be a good quality piece that is well made. This is made from mahogany and has a banded. Inlaid design framing the faces of the drawers and on the top of the chest. There is string inlay down the front legs. The drawers are jointed and tight. The handles on this have been replaced. The original handles were an oval brass design and there are signs on the drawers where they sat originally. The piece measures 32.5" in height. 42" in length and 20 3/8" in depth. This has the original porcelain casters with brass caps. The top two drawers have an inside depth of 3.25" The middle is 4.25" deep and the bottom drawer is 5.25" deep. This is a great mid century modern buffet/ sideboard. We think it's swiss as it has a button that says"produit suisse schweizerfabrikat" It is all one piece and measures approximately 46 1/2" l x 18 1/2" w x 56" tall. The top is approximately 36 1/4" l x 9 3/4" w x 29 1/2" tall. The bottom is approximately 43" l x 17" w x 24 1/2" tall. One of the glass doors is broken where the handle was attached and will need to be replaced. We still have the handle so you could still use it and they would match. We're not sure of the wood. But we believe the interior of the bottom section is satin wood. It is in overall nice condition, it does have some marks appropriate to age and use. You could easily find or make taller legs if needed as they unscrew from the case. So far I know neither the maker or the designer. Probably the distinctive drawer pull detail will help identify. Primitive Old Wood Three Drawer Childs Chest / Apothecary Jewelry Box Old Paint
This is a very nice old wood three drawer childs chest. Apothecary or jewelry box. It has old white paint on it and scalloped edges on the bottom in the front and the sides as seen in the pictures. The box is in very good condition with no chips but the top does have a tight crack in the back. It also looks like the back of the box may have been replaced at one time. The chest or box measures 14 1/2" across the front, is 7 1/2" deep from the front to the back and stands 11 1/2" tall. The top of the box measures 15" long x 8" wide. All three drawers are all in very good condition and have old metal pulls. They are constructed by the corners being notched together and are ribbed in the front as seen in the pictures. They measure 13" x 6" and are 2 1/2" deep. This is very nice old piece that has many uses ... moreand would look great in any home. Check out my! a lot of 4 extremely vintage very old solid brass drawer knobs. These are original to the 1940s. Came of of a very old gossip desk. The desk was a nice cherrywood finished table but needed too much restoration so it was salvaged into a new folk art piece and these knobs didn't go with the new folk art piece that was made so I am selling them off so they find a good home. These are in great shape and will make a nice accent to a nice old piece of woodwork. They're nice and heavy. Very solid brass pieces. I am a very fast shipper. MAPLE WOOD SILVER FLATWARE CHEST WITH DRAWER VINTAGE BOX
Here is a lovely I believe"maple" silver flatware chest. This wood box with brass hardware will hold a 12 piece setting and a drawer for extras. The drawer has dovetailed joints. This chest measures 16 X 11 and 1/4 inches and it is 5 and 3/4 inches deep. It will weigh 10 pounds packed in a 12 X 12 X 16 inch box. This is in very nice vintage condition and the lid and drawer close tightly preventing your flatware set from tarnishing. It is lined with a tarnish resistent velvety cloth as well. It does have some divets making the wood look stressed. But overall very lovely. It does polish nicely with Howard's Bee's Wax. I do show all in the pictures. Please be sure to check out my! This is a fabulous vintage 1950's sewing box. The interior of this piece is in amazing condition! The drawer is super clean and appears to be unused. The plastic tray is also in great condition! The lower portion of the exterior of this box has faded. The flowers look purple rather than blue. Personally. I think this adds to its charm!
