They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. So I'm not sure where to start with this absolutely splendid mid-century modern streamlined tanker desk. ... moreIt has a tag on the lower right drawer that identifies the manufacturer as ASE(All-Steel Equipment) of Aurora, Illinois. It seems to be all steel apart from the desktop itself, which is tan formica or something similar. So let's give you some measurements. First. From the floor to the desktop is about 30" Second, it is about 60" wide and 30" deep, and the knee space between the two banks of drawers is about 25" It has two pullout keyboard shelves, one on each side, three undivded drawers on the left, a shallow center drawe with four small compartments at the front, and two divided drawers on the right. The top one is fitted with a metal business form organizer, and the deeper one below has a single vertical divider that can be adjusted by sliding it forward or back. As the pictures show. It has some overal surface scuffing and scratching, with rust just beginning to show through, indicating it might be time to strip it and upcycle it into something a but brighter or more colorful. Or leave it just the way it is is if you're oging for the used and worn look. We are also including the chair we found it with. Although it is more like a dining chair than a desk chair. It is all metal. I know, don't those legs legs look like turned wood? Because we don't want to get involved in crating this item for shipping. This Mid Century Desk and Swivel Chair combination has been carefully restored. Every part was bead-blasted and cleaned and powder-coated in baby blue. The Desk top is brand new snow white Formica. The chair was professionally reupholstered in brown leather. Stainless steel accent pieces where buff polished back into nearly brand new condition. The Desk features pull-outs on either side. A deep file drawer on the right side, plus four other drawers, All drawers lock! This is a uniquely functional piece of art. The only noticeable dings are that it has are a couple of surface scratches about ¾” to 1” long on the top surface and scuff marks to the interior of the knee space area. Well. This isn't coming to South America with us.so we'll try it again at a new, reduced price! This no-reserve auction offers a vintage ASE tanker executive tanker desk. Manufactured by All-Steel Equipment, Aurora, IL, USA. This is the rare“executive” version of this desk. The executive version can be identified by the double pedestals and the oversized top that extends past the base on the sides and the back. The desk features the oversized executive top. Two large file drawers, two small drawers, and a flat center drawer. We have a total of five removable dividers for the upper drawers. The desk is in very good shape. The formica top is nice and the rubber bumper edge is in good all the way around. The front is in really good condition. There are a couple of small dents on one side. And the other side has what looks like some splashed ... moreon varnish. This should come off with a little bit of goo gone and some elbow grease. You could paint this. We don't list a lot of furniture on eBay. So I'm not sure where to start with this absolutely splendid mid-century modern streamlined tanker desk. It has a tag on the lower right drawer that identifies the manufacturer as ASE(All-Steel Equipment) of Aurora, Illinois. It seems to be all steel apart from the desktop itself, which is tan formica or something similar. So let's give you some measurements. First. From the floor to the desktop is about 30" Second, it is about 60" wide and 30" deep, and the knee space between the two banks of drawers is about 25" It has two pullout keyboard shelves, one on each side, three undivded drawers on the left, a shallow center drawe with four small compartments at the front, and two divided drawers on the right. The top one is fitted with a metal business form organizer, and ... morethe deeper one below has a single vertical divider that can be adjusted by sliding it forward or back. As the pictures show. It has some overal surface scuffing and scratching, with rust just beginning to show through, indicating it might be time to strip it and upcycle it into something a but brighter or more colorful. Here's a very cool metal desk purchased from its original owner. Who tells me its a 1961 Hobart. This model was made in Troy Ohio, and is known for its unique smooth"waterfall" style pressed metal handles. The legs are a wide, trapezoidal shape, and the edge features a bright brushed stainless molding. The work surface is covered in grey"battleship linoleum" a durable yet flexible mat. There are 6 side drawers. A locking center drawer and 2 pull out side tables. Color is a medium metallic silver. This particular desk is well preserved but does show signs of use. The linoleum top has scratches and stains. And the adhesive is loose in one corner. there are a number of sources who still sell the replacement material) Desk drawers work smoothly and close evenly. Vintage Invincible Industrial Metal Steel Executive Red Desk w/Oversize Top
For sale is one original Invincible brand executive metal desk. It is painted its original bright carmine red color and is in excellent condition. While an unusual color. It appears to be original due to it being present underneath the Invincible knight in armor decal on the inside of the center drawer. There are a few scratches here and there, but no dents or rust. There is an aberration in the paint job where the paint is slightly thinner on the two lower drawers on the left side, so they appear slightly darker. It has an interior locking mechanism that lock all of the drawers in place when the center drawer is closed and locked, though you will need to get a key made for the center drawer(should cost about $10 at a locksmith) The oversized top is a blond woodgrain laminate in excellent shape. Beautiful metal pulls, adjustable glides. The ... morered color is slightly more"pink" in real life than it appears in the photos. There are no dividers in the drawers. I have a 1950's Steelcase tanker desk for sale. It has some slight cosmetic issues. A few love dings and a minor amount of rusting around the table top but otherwise this desk is good to go as is or for a complete restoration. All drawers work well/smooth and I have the original key, middle locking drawer works(lock one drawer, they all lock) It is a light to medium grey in color. I purchased this desk earlier in the year thinking I would have time to do a complete restoration but I can't do it now and it's a bit to big for my current office area. Item Description: A very rare Hans J Wegner Oak and Steel executive desk Made in Denmark by Johannes Hansen. This spacious and very modern desk has an incredible sophisticated look and will be an important addition to any mid century modern home or office. This desk was refinished and stained in a reddish tone by the previous owner. This shows nicely as-is though some buyers may choose to refinish it to its original color. The desk is incredibly crafted and is very heavy. The sleek X shaped stretchers and bold metal legs set this desk apart from the rest. The desk features 6 drawers with metal handles as pictured. ... moreThis piece is fully finished and shows very nicely from all angles as pictured. The desk does have some minor wear from use/restoration as shown- there is small area on the left side where the previous refinisher passed the oak veneer(see picture 9) This is not very distracting but should be noted. The desk has some minor light spots and light scratches from use as pictured. The drawers all open and close smoothly. The file drawers do not have bottoms which i believe is by design, the top left drawer does not have a bottom on the front section- I am not sure if this is original, if not this should be quite easy to replace. The second drawer on the left side has a partially cut bottom perhaps to house the lock? both of these can be seen in picture 12. The 2 top drawers go slightly too far in when pushed(see image 11) i am guessing there is a small stopper or something that normally stopped these so they close flush which should be easy to remedy. Salvaged out of a 1950's Manufacturing Laboratory are this pair of VINTAGE RETRO STEEL LAB FLOOR CABINETS. They measure 18w x 22d x 30h. One has 2 drawers& a large cabinet; the other has 8 drawers. Aluminum handles& hinges. Smooth precision drawer gliders. Very heavy duty construction. Leg levelers on bottom for uneven floors. A bit of surface rust in a few spots. Need tops. You are looking at a very cool Vintage Atomic Steel Tanker Desk Mid Century Modern Formica Top 3 Drawer. This item has been painted by a previous owner. It used to be a teal color and they changed it to white with a dark copper accent. The white parts could stand to be repainted because of some scratches and it wasn't done properly. It doesn't look terrible but would be a great and easy restore piece. Change it to whatever color you want in your house! Steel desk/ table/ computer desk/ workstation 42-1/2 Width 18 inches deep 29 Inches to top of desk I believe there is a mirror that goes between the tall steel bars as you can see in the pictures. I don't have the mirror. It's a cool piece. I just don't have room anymore for it and have a different desk now. The wood desk top piece comes out and can be replaced with glass or whatever type of top you'd like to place in the desk. It has some wear. Very lite oxidation, otherwise it's a great piece and great desk.
