For sale is a 1950s 2 arm industrial Jielde multi angle articulated machine ... morelamp. The aluminium elbows have been polished. The lamp is in working order and comes with 2.4 metres of new flex but not the plug as it is a French one. It is in very good used condition with some very minor signs of use to the reflector's surface. The reflector has its original high temperature painted surface and still has the bulb wattage/voltage sticker intact. The switch is in the base. I have included the lamp's weighted vehicle brake disc base in the sale. These lamps are very sort after and nice examples like this are becoming difficult to find. The photos don't do it justice! The lamp takes a Standard Bayonet cap bulb(B22) which are available at all DIY outlets. Bulb not included. The maximum wattage is 150w. Jielde lamps were designed by Jean-Louis Domecq for direct mounting on machine tools and for use in workshops. The lamps have now become particularly fashionable for use in loft style apartments and in homes generally as desk lamp/floor or wall lamps. So, hence I have fitted a trailing flexible lead to make the light more useable in the home. I have displayed this light using a vehicle brake disc which provides a solid base to show a typical method of mounting the light. Heavy sprockets. Hardwood- anything heavy will do the job. The light can also be fixed to a wall if required using its mounting base/bracket which has 3 holes in it. Although the light isn't heavy, it will require a solid wall and sturdy fixings to mount it as the movement required to adjust the lamp to the desired position will put stress on the mounting. If you do not want the brake disc included in the sale, then I will discount the postage by £10. Dimensions: Maximum extended height is 110cm( 44" The shade dia. is 16cm. NO RESERVE Vintage 1950's School Desk W/ Custom Burl Top LOOK
For sale. I have a 1950's vintage American seating school desk. It's a one of a kind with a custom burled walnut top. The top has a figured maple border. The seat is"flamed" gum wood. The top is veneered over maple with a maple veneer underside. The seat is veneered over cherry with a beechwood underside. The whole frame was stripped and repainted with a hammered pewter paint and matte black accents. The desk top interior is a gloss white. This is an awesome piece of furniture or artwork, however you choose to utilize it. Due to its size I'm listing it for local pickup only. AGAIN. Mid Century Modern Desk Oak Vintage 1950's - 60's
Mid Century Desk Very good original condition. The finish is excellent and the drawers work very well. It is also very sturdy. The brass feet have some tarnish on them and the bottom panel has a split in one joint You can see this from the side view and under shot. This is a beautiful piece of furniture and classic mid century style that is not easy to find. It has good quality finish on it. Some finishes are very brittle from this age. But this one is great. In the photos from the left side of the desk it looks like the corners have big white wood showing through the finish, that is a glare. Dimensions: 36" x 20" surface. 30 1/2" height The drawers inside dimensions are 10 1/2" wide and 4 1/4" high except the top drawers in 3 1/4" high. I was told it was probably made for a lady or teenager as a writing or study desk. I was never clear on the age until I did a web-search and came across this article. The label in the drawer reads"Townshend" with an"h" Not Townsend. That opened up a whole new area of exploration since there is a town in Vermont named"Townshend" that was founded in the 1700's. While researching Townshend, Vermont I came across a reference to Townshend Furniture Company. A little further digging turned up an address and phone number for the company and within a few minutes I was talking to Steve Lott who, along with his wife Susie, currently owns Townshend Furniture Company on RT 30 in Townshend, Vermont. Steve told me the company was founded after World War II by a veteran who had an interest in mostly maple Colonial Revival furniture which was produced by the company until the 1960's when it was purchased by Steve's family. Steve confirmed that the paper label found in the drawer of the drop front desk was indeed from his company and was used by his predecessor in the 1950's and 1960's but is no longer in use. That pretty well puts a definite date on this particular piece. So according to this article. The desk is most probably from the 1950's or 1960's. It is a well made amazing reproduction of a Colonial Revival piece. It has been loved and well cared-for for a long time. It really does make a beautiful impression. It is thin and sleek. Yet such a sturdy piece of well made vintage furniture.

I believe this desk was made in the 1940's early 1950's. The desk is in good condition for it's age. but i believe it has been refinished. I know nothing about vintage furniture so please look closely at the pictures and ask any questions you may have. It is stamped Stickley Fayetteville Syracuse in the upper drawer but it is upside down. The desk has one drawer. It measures about 50" inches tall and about 29" wide. The wood is in nice condition a few scratches and ring marks. It has great character and looks nice. A nice piece of NY history and was an estate find in upstate NY. English Sheraton Carlton House Style Mahogany Vintage Writing Desk c. 1950
VINTAGE CARLTON HOUSE STYLE MAHOGANY WRITING DESK c. Mid 20th Century Item# 409UST06A This is a very attractive reproduction after the original Carlton House desk form. Probably executed during the middle of the 20th Century. The craftsmanship is quite fine, the drawers being solid oak with hand dovetailed framing and a chamfered bottom. The legs are solid mahogany with a thick reeded carving around the upper one-third, each terminating in fine brass castors. The desk features brilliant mahogany veneers over chipboard core edged along the top in a pierced brass gallery, the demiluned writing surface covered with a tooled gilt leather and a series of small drawers. The desk has mellowed rather nicely from sun exposure, the cognac and golden tones very attractive in our opinion, the whole remaining relatively untouched in the last half-century ... morewith it's original brasses and hardware throughout. An outstanding selection for anyone decorating in an English country style. This is an affordable alternative to an original and prohibitively expensive Carlton House writing desk. Measurements: 54 1/8" W x 30 1/16" D x 35 1/4" H; 30 3/8" H to writing surface; writing surface is 32 1/4" W x 20 3/16" D; 24" H to underside of desk(leg room) Condition Report: Light discolorations and sun bleaching to surfaces.
