French Louis XV Style Bureau Plat Ormolu Mounted Leather Top Writing Desk
This amazing French Louis XV Writing Table Desk was an estate find. It looks to be wood veneer with an intricate black leather inlay with gold guilt edging. The desk is lined with heavy brass embellishments along the edges and has ormolu mounts. The front has 3 locking drawers with the keys for each one and they work fine. The desk has faux drawers on the side and backside. So that it can be a centerpiece in the room. The finish and leather look to be in very good condition, some of the brass on the legs has come loose and may just need to be nailed in(one is slightly bent) I'm not sure of the age, it looks old, but I am not sure if it is an antique. please refer to photos on the underside of the desk and of the dove tail drawers. Vintage late 1960's Sligh Desk w/ Matching Chair leather top w/ glass
Vintage Sligh desk is from the late 1960's. Most of that time. It has been gently used in an adult only, non pet, non smoker house. Top measures roughly 23" x 46" There is minor surface damage on the wood from normal wear. The chair shows the most surface damage. It looks like maybe the legs were hitting something on one side(maybe a PC kept on the floor) Additionally, it looks like a belt or something kept in a pocket might have repeatedly rubbed against the back of the chair on the other side of the leg damage, above the seat. The chair has been owned as long as the desk, so I'm guessing they may be a matched pair- something I haven't seen much on ebay. There is no manufacturers label on the chair.
