For sale is a 1950s 2 arm industrial Jielde multi angle articulated machine ... morelamp. The aluminium elbows have been polished. The lamp is in working order and comes with 2.4 metres of new flex but not the plug as it is a French one. It is in very good used condition with some very minor signs of use to the reflector's surface. The reflector has its original high temperature painted surface and still has the bulb wattage/voltage sticker intact. The switch is in the base. I have included the lamp's weighted vehicle brake disc base in the sale. These lamps are very sort after and nice examples like this are becoming difficult to find. The photos don't do it justice! The lamp takes a Standard Bayonet cap bulb(B22) which are available at all DIY outlets. Bulb not included. The maximum wattage is 150w. Jielde lamps were designed by Jean-Louis Domecq for direct mounting on machine tools and for use in workshops. The lamps have now become particularly fashionable for use in loft style apartments and in homes generally as desk lamp/floor or wall lamps. So, hence I have fitted a trailing flexible lead to make the light more useable in the home. I have displayed this light using a vehicle brake disc which provides a solid base to show a typical method of mounting the light. Heavy sprockets. Hardwood- anything heavy will do the job. The light can also be fixed to a wall if required using its mounting base/bracket which has 3 holes in it. Although the light isn't heavy, it will require a solid wall and sturdy fixings to mount it as the movement required to adjust the lamp to the desired position will put stress on the mounting. If you do not want the brake disc included in the sale, then I will discount the postage by £10. Dimensions: Maximum extended height is 110cm( 44" The shade dia. is 16cm. The top is veneered over maple with a maple veneer underside. The seat is veneered over cherry with a beechwood underside. Mid Century Desk Very good original condition. The finish is excellent and the drawers work very well. It is also very sturdy. The brass feet have some tarnish on them and the bottom panel has a split in one joint You can see this from the side view and under shot. This is a beautiful piece of furniture and classic mid century style that is not easy to find. It has good quality finish on it. Some finishes are very brittle from this age. But this one is great. In the photos from the left side of the desk it looks like the corners have big white wood showing through the finish, that is a glare. This desk is solid in construction. Sturdy with all wood intact. The only flaw with this desk it could be refinished. Or not. I probably would leave as is, if I were to keep it. Steve told me the company was founded after World War II by a veteran who had an interest in mostly maple Colonial Revival furniture which was produced by the company until the 1960's when it was purchased by Steve's family. 1950's "Allsteel" desk
I'm selling an original late 40's early 50's General fireproofing Co. ALLSTEEL" model 1660 desk. It's in original condition with the exception off a repaint some years ago. Long before I aquired it. The orignal material top is showing its age and has no more then normal wear. All drawers function 100% and all hardware is original. It has 4 drawers. 1file drawer with functioning divider, left and right writing perches, and 1 center pen drawer. The original"self locking" drawers still function. You must open pen drawer to open remaining drawers. All brass is intact and all markings and tags are present. The key is no longer in my possession, but are still available I am told. This is a large sturdy, classic example of quality American made furniture. It has and will continue to stand the test of time. I believe this desk was made in the 1940's early 1950's. The desk is in good condition for it's age. but i believe it has been refinished. It is stamped Stickley Fayetteville Syracuse in the upper drawer but it is upside down. The desk has one drawer. It measures about 50" inches tall and about 29" wide. VINTAGE CARLTON HOUSE STYLE MAHOGANY WRITING DESK c. Mid 20th Century Item# 409UST06A This is a very attractive reproduction after the original Carlton House desk form. Probably executed during the middle of the 20th Century. The craftsmanship is quite fine, the drawers being solid oak with hand dovetailed framing and a chamfered bottom. The legs are solid mahogany with a thick reeded carving around the upper one-third, each terminating in fine brass castors. The desk features brilliant mahogany veneers over chipboard core edged along the top in a pierced brass gallery, the demiluned writing surface covered with a tooled gilt leather and a series of small drawers. The desk has mellowed rather nicely from sun exposure, the cognac and golden tones very attractive in our opinion, the whole remaining relatively untouched in the last half-century ... morewith it's original brasses and hardware throughout. An outstanding selection for anyone decorating in an English country style. This is an affordable alternative to an original and prohibitively expensive Carlton House writing desk. Measurements: 54 1/8" W x 30 1/16" D x 35 1/4" H; 30 3/8" H to writing surface; writing surface is 32 1/4" W x 20 3/16" D; 24" H to underside of desk(leg room) Condition Report: Light discolorations and sun bleaching to surfaces. Note the variation to the top where something protected a strip from the sun, the back of the desk more faded than the front. Nice 1950's solid pine aristo-bilt desk with 3 drawers and unique shelves that come out that might be for your arms(not sure)it's stamped inside the middle drawer aristo-bilt and on the bottom of desk stamped Jan 1958.could be used as a vanity desk or writing desk etc.aristo-bilt furniture was popular in the 1950's and hard to find now. The top measures 34 1/4 inches long x 18 inches at the widest point. Stands 30 inches high.has a few marks with it's original patina. Overall very nice piece.extra shipping charge to west coast.
