What the heck is this? That's what the electrician said when he changed my light switch and found this hand-made box holding the wires. I live in a 200 year old farmhouse and sometimes we find things that are one-of-a-kind because of necessity. This primitive electric box looks like it was made from an old license plate and measures 2" by 1 3/4" by 1 1/4" This is a fun curiosity of the creativity and ingenuity of some people. Antique Vintage Primitive Rustic Handmade Country Farm Milking Bucket & Stool
This is a unique antique primitive and rustic Bucket& Stool. I am unsure of the age. But this is deifinitely antique and handmade. I believe this is a milking stool and bucket, but I could be wrong. This seems like something that would be found on an 1800s farmstead. The construction technique is very sturdy and basic, but crude. This is uneven and rustic and imperfect but has a lot of charm. The stool is stable, and very well made, and the bucket and handle are stable but it is not water tight. This is being sold as an antique collectible piece and should not be used. It is made out of wood which has a rich patina, and the slats of the bucket seem to have been sealed with resin or pitch/sap or something similar(to make it water tight? but it is mostly worn off. There are metal bands around the bucket holding it together, and they are ... morecrude and rusty. The handle is metal, and is connected with interesting hand made brackets. The"nails" also seem to be crude and handmade. The stool seems to be all wood, and is constructed with wooden blocks and dovetailing. This stool measures 9" high and it is 10" x5" at the top. It has not been washed. It is in very good condition. It can be restored, used for textile, or other purposes. This piece is signed Dean, Foster& Co. 14 Blackstone St. Boston, possibly made by E& LP Norton in Worchester, MA. This piece has a nice cobalt floral design, similar to ones produced by the Norton factory. The cobalt decoration is very thick& vibrant. The jug is in great condition, with a small chip on the rim& a couple on the base, possibly done in the making as they appear to be glazed over. There are no other chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. This early stoneware jug measures at 12" tall& 7 1/4" in diameter at the bottom. A wonderful piece of early American stoneware. Vntg Porcelain Enameled Steel Sap Bucket Spout Opening Dbles As Built-In Handle
Up for auction is a RARE Find! A Vintage SAP bucket that is porcelain enameled metal. It has a rise on one side that holds the bucket to the tree and has an opening for the spout. The opening for the spout is also a handle. The handle and the lip at the bottom of the bucket allow for pouring. The bucket is white with blue rims. It has roses painted on the sides. There is rust in a few places- please see pics! But it does not have any rust that goes thru the bucket. It has no breaks or cracks. It measures 9-1/8" Tall to the rim and an additional 6-1/4" for the handle piece. The top diameter is 9-1/2" The lip at the bottom is 1-1/2" The bottom has a marking of'Csepel' Which is a region in Budapest. Please look at the pictures well. Enlarge them and see the details. Stayed at a fabulous B&B in South Dakota- made even more heaven by the fact that they also had an antique store on the property. I shopped in several other locations in both states and brought home some great primitives. Advertising, pottery, and all in all interesting finds. Before I left, I went to a new farm auction, and an estate auction- so I have a BUNCH of new items this week- I’ll be posting every day, so be sure to check back! This rustic cutie patootie has character to spare! It's a hand made wood cowboy boot- just a little decorative piece of Western Americana that packs a punch of charm! It measures a petite 3" toe to heel. 1" deep and 3 7/8" tall. It's ... morelight, at under 1/4 lb. You can see decorative carved(or maybe more like pyrography burned? detail on the wood on both sides and the top of the boot- it's all very worn from age so you really have to look for it. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally but I'm calling it shabby in my title because of the almost worn off white paint that it used to have. You can see it on the top of the boot- a creamy white color that appears to have covered the whole boot at one point in time. You only see it in peeks on the body of the boot, and what's on top is chippy and worn. It's not signed by the maker, but does appear to have some numbers hand written on the bottom of the sole- I can't tell for sure because it's too worn to make out, but I think the numbers may reflect a former price? I thought it was just too cute to pass up- it's a sweet old Western Americana piece. Please ask if you have any questions.
