I am relisting my Imari Jar with cover. I withdrew it because the company listed below have just sold an identicall one only a lot smaller for $2,900, their one did not have a lid or a base. Their one was undamaged. But nowhere near as impressive as mine. So my new starting price has increased but is very low considering the piece. Also I had listed it as Chinese when in fact it is Japanese. If you look on jcollector. The internet name of Jtansu, you will see the jar. Mailing Address: Jtansu P.O. Box 879 Summerland. CA 93067 Toll Free Telephone: 888.991.9096 From Outside the US: 805.695.0334 Fax: 801.681.1179 Email: sales@jtansu.com Wonderfull Large Japanese Imari Jar with lid. On Antique wood and plaster scroll leg stand. It is obviously very old but I dont know the exact date, it is approx 1870. The approx size is. Height on stand: 2ft ... more5" or 73cms, height of stand: 9.5ins or 24.5cms. Width of vase at widest point is approx 1ft 1"or 34cm. The main Jar is lovely condition. The neck has been stapled with 6 staples and it appears a very clean repair which would restore I think quite easily. The lid has internal staple repair but they dont appear on the outside and look to be there for hairline repair. Overall a very Impresive Piece. I dont know if the base is for it but it looks very good on it. IT WILL HAVE TO BE FOR COLLECTION ONLY BECAUSE OF THE SIZE AND WEIGHT.

This is a late Meiji Era(c.1910) antique imari sakazuki(sake cup) It is made of a high fire pottery for strength and durability as it was used to drink hot sake. The outside is hand painted with a gourd design with vines extending out. Gourds symbolize sake in Japanese design because in the past they were used to hold sake(as a portable bottle) On the bottom inside you can see the faint imbossed signature stamp(inkan) of the maker(see picture 5) There is also a special logo of the maker on the outside bottom(see picture 3) It looks to me like a bird in flight. Possibly a phoenix or an eagle. It was fired at high temperature in a wood fired kiln making it very durable for everyday use. There are a few flecks of kiln ash and bubble formation typical of potery from this era baked in wood fired kilns(seen only in super closeup pictures) Despite ... moreits age. Having been in storage for over a century, this cup remains in excellent condition with no dings. Chips or hairlines. The small size makes it the perfect sake cup, but it would also make a great demi cup for tea. Measuring 2 1/8" 75.5cm) in diameter and 1 1/4" 3.5 cm) deep, this cup is the perfect size for sipping your morning tea or evening sake! You'll love it. I guarantee it.If you purchase this item and are not completely delighted with it, you may return it for a no questions asked refund within 14 days of receipt. I have been doing this as a business only a few months now and am still learning everyday. I really thought. That because an item is listed as"used" that it was understood that it was"used" I have come to find out recently that that might not always be the case, so I felt I needed/wanted to add this little disclaimer, which is also a little about myself and the items I try to sell. When it comes to all of the"used" and"vintage" items. Almost all of these come from estate auctions. We live in a city where there are some very well off older citizens that owned and used"top shelf" everyday items. When I/we(my husband does this with me) go to these auctions, we have usually done a preview and know what we are looking for or wanting. I do go after specific items, however, I do sometimes purchase"box lots" Now even with these, I am or try to be discriminating. There is usually one or two things in these boxes that really interest or intrigue me. I have seven children, with the youngest being five. Because of that, I do not usually keep finer things in my home nor have I ever tried collecting a

A rare and beautiful set of three Royal Crown Derby plates. Derby porcelains were highly prized for their superb sets of china which were done in the imari patterns of the 18th Century and brilliant colors of the imari palette. Rust red, cobalt blue, burnt orange and green. The plates are date marked with the Red Crown indicating they were made in the 1877 to 1890 period and bear the incised Derby on each of the plates.Given their age, they are in very good condition, with minor gilt loss on the edging of the plates.

A Pair of unmarked English Imari Plates. They date from Circa 1820. Plates of this period were often unmarked. The plates are done in the Japan style often emulated by the famous potters. Derby, Spode and Coalport, who produced beautiful porcelains in these Imari patterns and colors. The plates measure 8&1/4 inches in diameter and have a delicate Imari pattern, motifs that were fanciful and dramatic. This pattern contains a mythic lion like figure hiding in the edge of the plate, large gilded flowers, flowers and fauna done in rust red and cobalt blue and burnt orange and lavishly gilded. There has been some loss to the gilt on the plate and to the edges which is natural given the age of the plates.

SquareTrade © AP6.0 Vintage Japanese Imari Blue Porcelain Plate[c. 1950's] Estate item from a couple who traveled extensively and spent a great deal of time in the Orient. This absolutely stunning Japanese Imari blue floral plate is truly gorgeous. The eight-sided design sets off the rich, deep colors and enhances the delicate soft pink and lilac of the flowers which I think are chrysanthemums, a highly revered flower in Asian culture. What a fantastic display piece or a thoughtful gift for someone who collects Imari porcelain. I believe it's porcelain rather than ceramic by the way it looks and feels to me, but this is only my opinion as the piece is not marked. In perfect condition with no chips or cracks. There is no reserve on this old Imari bowl with multi color designs on the inside and the outside. It is 10 1/8 inches in diameter at the top and is 3 7/8 inches high. It is quite heavy. Weighing almost 4 pounds. It is decorated in the traditional blue, and orange-red, with gold overglaze accents. There are two gold rings around the top rim. There is some wear of the gold. There are no markings on the bottom. It is difficult to date Imari, but the quality of the decoration is one clue. The more detailed the work, the earlier the piece. At Gumps in San Fransico where I bought it in 1970 I was told it dated to the early 1800s. The bowl has several tiny chips on the inner ring of the bottom which do not show unless you turn it upside down(see picture) It is otherwise in excellent condition.
