Up for no reserve auction is a set of 3 Antique slag glass panel lamp shades. The round shade has no cracked panels. It is approximately 9.5" tall. ... more8" diameter at the top and 3.25" at the bottom fitter. The square overlay shade with flowers has 4 panels which are all in good condition. It looks like 2 were replaced at some time. It measures 7" tall, 6" across the top and 5.25" across the bottom. The tall square shade is guaranteed to be Bradley& Hubbard. It is signed on one of the bottom clips holding the glass"Pat'd Oct 20 08" It has 4 amber panels and 4 green panels. My guess is that the glass was replaced in this. Also, as you can see in the last picture, there is some damage to the filigree. I posted nice, large pictures of all the shades. They are certainly not in great condition but could be restored and used in some capacity. All are from the early 1900's. Offered with no reserve. Thanks& Good Luck.

STICKLEY STYLE ARTS AND CRAFTS HOMES IN THE CRAFTSMAN TRADITION by David Cathers and Alexander Vertikoff. Simon& Schuster, NY, 1999. Beautifully illustrated ... morein color. This fascinating book presents a scholarly survey of Stickley Arts& Crafts design. This book“captures the excitement and revolutionary zeal of these ideas and this era, a time when Victorian fussiness was being abandoned in the search for a modern way to live. This book opens with a vivid description of the Craftsman ideas and describes Stickley’s vision of ways to make a house conducive to a life of beauty and contentment. The author then goes on to show us the collections in a series of stunning Arts and Crafts homes, including Stickley’s own family home in New Jersey. Finally, for those who want to furnish their own homes with appropriate reproductions, an extensive catalogue presents everything from Stickley tables and sideboards to tall case clocks and metal door latches. Throughout, specially commissioned photographs show the overall harmony that will make the Stickley style as much a favorite for the new century as it was for the last. 9.4” x 11.3” hardback with dust cover in very good condition. 224 pages. This is a lot of 4 old broken down metal die cast model cars in rough shape. They measure approx. 8" long. They are dusty. Broken and missing pieces, and have been in a box for many years. They are marked Hubley Toys Lancaster PA on the bottom. My Dad was avid collector of model cars and kits. I found a bunch of old models that he had marked for parts. And before sending them to the recycle bin I thought I would see if anyone had any use for them, maybe an art project or something. I have them grouped into lots that will fit into a medium flat rate shipping box. Depending on where you live there may be a cheaper rate and I will be happy to check that for you. Victorian Hand Painted Tulip Arts& Crafts Gas Kerosene Oil Paraffin Lamp Shade# Please scroll down for photographs# Please read to see exactly what is included. International bidders please ask postage costs BEFORE placing a bid unless costs are stated in the listing as prices can be expensive. Here we have a n attractive original Victorian'Comet' fitting open- flame gas shade. The shade is made from opal glass and hand painted with Autumnal looking leaves and berries. I often see these opal painted shades on Arts& Crafts fittings in the past. Th ese shades were made for gas lamps with Comet shade holders which featured a usually well made tripod holder that you would set it on and then a set screw would push a small clasp against the inner surface of the s hade to secure it in place. These shades seem to have out-lived their ... moreoriginal brackets much to the con stern ation of Duplex oil lamp collectors as they have a fitterless opening that is 1/4" larger than regu lar Duplex shades be ing 4" These shades can be made to balance on the edge of a Duplex gallery but really need something to secure them such as a few bendable metal tabs on the inside of the shade galler y's ri m. The other common way is to find a shade gallery with three securing screws. These shades sit nicely on those adjustable screws. Perhaps you have the correct gas brackets and can ignore the above info! Dimensions; 4 1/ 4" base opening, 9" across frill. A round 5 3/8" tall. Condition; shade is in good condition. There are a few small nibbles to the opening. T op frill without damage. See images. Overall a beautiful shade. Good luck and happy bidd ing! UK. Packing, Handling& Signature- £8.00, Europe. Fresh From A North Texas Estate. Please view all enlarged photos for details. For your consideration. A lovely piece that could be used as a Runner or a Wall Hanging. The cotton is white and textured sort of like a'waffle weave' There are three(3) tiny holes across the top. One on each corner and one in the middle.right at the top edge. They were made with a purpose. They are all three finished with a'button hole stitch' Maybe so this piece could be hung as a wall hanging, or perhaps to secure it to a mantle or table? The fifth photo shows the back embroidery. I find a few small faint faint spots.some are simply too faint to show in a photos. The 8th photo with the dime coin is placed between(1 above and 1 below) 2 faint roundish spots.very faint. Marked"YORK" 6" and"Made in England" I believe these were made by the Ranleigh Pottery during the 1920's. Measuring 6.5" tall and 4.75" wide, they feature cold painted fruit decoration on both sides. I think this type of pottery was called"chalkware" and this"chalkiness" can be seen on these vases. The cold paint remains mostly intact but any little nick, scratch or rub produces the chalk. I did little more than dust this pair. There are no chips or cracks and they are good English Arts and Crafts Era pieces. International bidders are welcome with the understanding that these will likely have to fly via Priority Mail at a cost of nearly $50.
Rare is the piece where the bottom is nearly as cool as the top. But the underside of this Fulper bowl has an amazing matte blue glaze. The top ain't too shabby either. Measuring just over 2" tall and 10" wide, it is fully marked. There is a repaired flake to the underside of the rim(see photos) This affected a tiny portion of the edge of the rim. Some minor crazing has developed on the bottom of the interior and there is a bit of wear to the glaze. The way the blue flows into the white and then back again makes this hard to see but it is duly noted. Dating to the 1920's, it's a nice period Arts and Crafts piece. I combine shipping so please keep shopping.

This is a wonderful mission style arts& crafts hammered copper vase from around the 1900's. The craftsmanship of this piece is excellent. It is hand hammered and has a kick-up bottom. Although it has a very nice patina I can old polish stuck in the seam around the bottom. It must have been polished a long time ago because it still has a nice mellow patina. It is heavy for its size and is not thin copper but a heavy gauge or thickness. It stand 8 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" wide at the base and 3 1/2" at the lip. We purchased this at an estate sale so years back with a collection of Elbert Hubbard books. It is nice heavy quality piece and is the quality of Roycroft and Stickley. Good luck and have fun bidding!

This one-off piece has been made by someone who is skillful in the art of copper beating! The lid portrays a chicken(in raised relief) All four sides of the box depict a sunrise. I have found it a very difficult item to date. But it has a very'Arts and Crafts' look and feel to it, although there is'something' about it which makes me think it was possibly made some decades later! It is uncleaned. With a very nice aged patina to it. The box is lined in a dark red felt which looks to be of some age. It is hand stamped on the copper base with the name KATE LULU or KATE KULU. A very nice quality unique vintage piece. Size approx 11cms x 8cms x 4cms deep. On 11-Feb-13 at 15:28:20 GMT. Seller added the following information: Check out my other listings.
~~ Arts& Crafts Table Lamp base ~~ no shade What a great estate find! Have you ever seen a Arts& Crafts Oak base with slag glass in this design? there are plenty of the all oak bases with out slag glass& also the metal arts& crafts Lamps this design have the slag glass base. So if your after the special one, this is for you. everything on this lamp base is Org. except I replaced the wiring& cord. Look at the great metal work on the shade supports& the Original multiple color swirl Slag glass surround by the Org. finish Oak base. This lamp base proudly stands 15" tall& a wing span of 11" for your shade.the arched feet of the base spread across 7 1/2" side to side. This base has not been messed with or taken apart. So I would say It has the Org glass. One side has the similar one on the opposite side ... moreit almost looks light colored(faded)but the wood is not faded& is still dark. So that's why I put a picture of the inside. For viewing all 4 pieces.the only way to change the glass is to completely take apart the base, which if you look at all the bottom corners it shows that it hasn't been taken apart. 2 out of the 4 metal shade holders have a little piece of wood they mount on& are loose. Came loose from age& just need a little glue to secure them. There are pictures of all 4 side& 1 picture of the little loose piece the has the shade screwed to it added to the very end of the picture slideshow. I will wrap your base extra carefully with lots of bubble wrap for a safe& secure long trip to you. Thank you!
A wonderful tray with a porcelain base and wicker covering. the design can be either Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau. About 13" x 10" Nice blue and white and silver colors.
This is a beautiful. Hand-crafted copper plaque from the Newlyn Workshops in Cornwall, UK, made during the Arts& Crafts period. From Wikkipedia: Late in the 19th century the fishing industry in Cornwall was becoming unreliable as a source of income: bad weather and seasonal fluctuations brought enforced periods of inactivity. It was decided that an alternative means of employment could be gained by training the unemployed fishermen to produce items in copper. After some early experiments. The Class specialised in copper work and produced a wide range of domestic and decorative items. The school remained active for about thirty years after its establishment in 1890. An artist who settled at Newlyn was a key figure in setting up the Newlyn Industrial Class, assisted by the benefactor and local. And artists. And. Other known artists who ... moreproduced work in the Newlyn style included: And. The range of objects produced by the class including trays. Mirror and photograph frames, chambersticks, plates and chargers, boxes, bowls and coffee pots: designs typically featured fish, ships and other nautical themes. A permanent collection. Representing much of the work of the original Newlyn School, is on view at the in. Newlyn Copper is now highly valued by collectors. My plaque. As much of the Newlyn output does, shows stylized marine life, in this case fanciful dolphins surrounding a pair of sea monsters. I have owned this piece for over 20 years, and originally bought it from Kurland-Zabar gallery out of their groundbreaking Arts& Crafts metalware show back in the'80's. It is in perfect, unrestored condition, with its original patina and no dents, dings or repairs. It is marked"NEWLYN" as is usual for this work. I believe it was shown in their catalog, but I couldn't swear to it. The plaque measures 17" in diameter. And has its original loop on the back for hanging on the wall, as shown. This will be hard for me to sell, so if you are the successful bidder, I may ask to visit it from tim
I am pleased to offer this antique Roycroft modeled leather wastebasket. I think this is a rare Roycroft accessory. I have seen pictures in a catalog and in magazine ads. But could not find another that sold at auction, while searching the net. This piece is circa 1910. I found a copy of an ad for what I believe is this exact basket, which was in a FRA magazine from 1913. This is fresh from a Maine Estate, and measures about 15" tall, and 9" in diameter. I would consider the condition to be in good condition, but with a little work could certainly be improved. The leather is very presentable. It has some scuffs, chaffing, with minor staining, lifting and chipping at the seam. When I got this I noticed that at some point the basket had been switched upside down, and the bottom had been nailed to the top. I was able to remove the ... morewooden piece with little damage. What you are left with is 2 small nails that need to be punched through. There are 3 other tiny holes where the nails were removed. The bottom piece is now only friction fit, and will need to be properly secured. Nearly all the leather is gone from the inside edge, so you may wish to replace that. Other than that a good cleaning and conditioning is all that is needed. Please view all pictures in my description, as there are more than the 12 provided by ebay. Great potential! I have up for sale a wonderful vintage Arts& Crafts style Zanesville Matte Green Art Pottery Umbrella stand. It has a very nice deep cucumber green glaze. Stands approx 22-1/2" and approx 10" diameter. It is unmarked but documented and authenticated as Zanesville Pottery. It would make for a perfect addition to any Mission or Arts& Crafts decor. It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition- I see no damages but there are a fair amount of glaze miss spots through out the piece. The past owner must have tried to cover a couple of these spots with some sort of dark green coloring- I cleaned most of the spots off as much as possible. This is fairly minor but noted. I see no actual damages- no cracks.Chips,etc. There is one spot that I am unsure if its damage or just another glaze miss spot, that was covered. It is shown in my last ... morepic. Wear is light- over all this is a very nice piece. I will box with lots of padding and send fully insured. 1936 folk art. Hand-etched pewter dish commemorating the Springfield, Massachusetts Tercentenary(1636-1936. On the back it's marked"Elvin Studios- Hand-etched Pewter- Mária Izsák" I could find nothing on Elvin Studios. But did find a Joseph Elvin in Springfield at the time who was a teacher at a trade school and perhaps the studio was part of that? And I found Mária Izsák in the 1940 census, living in Springfield, but nothing much about her, unfortunately. The dish is in very good condition and measures 5" in diameter. Tiffany Studios Style Spider Lamp Shade- This is a real nice copy of a leaded glass Tiffany Style Spider Lamp Shade. It is 15 3/4" wide at the botton and 6/34" high. It has great color and lights up beautifully. This Auction does not include the base or the top cap. It has two cracked pieces which are clealy shown in the photo's. I have no idea who made this. But it looks great. The glass lines up very nicely so you can tell it was cut out of larger sheets and not a mix of many different types or shades of glass. I have had it for 10 years and bought it at the Brimfield Antique Mart. Top ring is 1 7/8" and fits on typical 1 7/8" Tiffany wheel. o`7.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2B6mwimiu%3Eo%607-13cce95c666-0xf3-

This is a beautiful and highly sought after Arts& Crafts Sterling Silver tray made by the famous FRALICK NOVICK. He came to Chicago in 1907 and opened his own shop. He became one of the main designers for the for the respected KALO shop. He became known as the"tray man" and his work in silver has always been greatly valued. This beautiful tray was a wedding present to my parents in 1928. Note that it has a family monogram applied to it which makes it even more special. More often. Initials were simply engraved into the silver. This tray has a 10-1/4" diameter and weighs 322.2 DWT(16.ll ounces) I got this information from a gold/silver store. Designing Utopia. The Art of William Morris and His Circle" By Stephen F. Eisenman. Published by the Katonah Museum of Art in 1992. DISCUSSION: An exquisite catalogue with many illustrations as well as period photographs documents this important exhibition. William Morris(1834-1896) wished to change the political and social values of Victorian society through design. Inspired by Gothic and Medieval art. His work countered the mass-produced patterns of the period. The exhibition included wall papers, textiles, carpets, furniture, tiles, tapestries, stained glass, and illustrated books. Dr. Stephen F. Eisenman, Professor of Art History at Occidental College, Los Angeles, has written an informative essay dealing with Morris’s art and politics. Catalog of Roycroft Furniture and other things” A facsimile reprint of the 1906 Roycroft Furniture catalog. Issued by Turn of the Century Editions in 1981. DISCUSSION: Roycroft furniture was not manufactured in large quantities. Nevertheless. It contributed significantly towards the growth of Arts and Crafts design in America. Furniture and other artifacts made by the Roycrofters at their community in East Aurora, New York, are easily identified by the incised orb and cross and/or“Roycroft” name. The 1906 catalog reprinted here depicts a substantial portion of the furniture designs produced under the forceful direction of Elbert Hubbard. The catalog also features some copper and wrought iron accessories. DESCRIPTION: Softcover. 6”x8.5” 47 pages, black& white illustrations. CONDITION NOTES: In fine. New condition. Arts and Crafts Furniture. Shop of the Crafters” Published by Turn of the Century Editions in 1983. DISCUSSION: Cincinnati was an important center of the American Arts and Crafts Movement. Reproduced here is the entire 1906 catalog of the Oscar Onken Company showing sophisticated furniture in the“mission” style. Some pieces featuring inlay. Shop of the Crafters furniture was promoted vigorously and consequently was widely distributed throughout the United States. A central European influence can be detected in some of the pieces, particularly when viewed in the context of the catalog’s illustrated Viennese room settings of the period. This book shows a rich variety of designs as an alternative to the pure rectilinear forms often seen in other Arts and Crafts mission furniture. The Mission Furniture of L. J. G. Stickley” Edited by Stephen Gray. Published by Turn of the Century Editions in 1989. Revised edition. DISCUSSION: A revised edition of the original compilation of the L. J.G. Stickley Company’s work during the American Arts and Crafts period. Sixteen pages of additional Onondaga Shops drawings and some photos of pieces in private collections have been added. The book brings together a virtually complete record of this company’s work from 1902 to 1920. The L. J.G. Stickley Company produced“mission” furniture of a consistently high quality. While many of Leopold Stickley’s designs are similar to Gustav Stickley’s designs. There are variations that show much originality, especially the later prairie-style pieces. The International Dictionary of Women Workers in the Decorative Arts. A Historical Survey from the Distant Past to the Early Decades of the Twentieth Century” By Alice Irma Prather-Moses. Published by The Scarecrow Press in 1981. DISCUSSION: My first thought about women workers in the decorative arts goes to the Arts& Crafts Movement. Where they were so important, and those figures, both major and minor, are certainly all here. But this study delves much further, back to the middle ages, and into silver, textiles, ceramics and others crafts. An important, unique reference. DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 5.5”x8.5” 200 pages. This is for an Antique/Vintage Hammered Aluminum Mission/Gothic/Tudor/Arts&Crafts Chandelier. Just as found at a local estate. Overall, it is in very good condition without any cracks, chips or repairs. The patina is very nice.but a shade darker than the flash pictures display. Each socket has a glass"hobnail" base. All glass hobnail trim is solid and unbroken. The chandelier weighs between 6 and 7 lbs. There is a flat black ceiling cover that does not appear to be original to the chandelier. The wiring is fairly good, however the hardwires were taped to a plug, so the lamp could be moved from place to place. I would probably rewire this unit, but it does work as is. The unit has not been cleaned. It may have had some type of chimneys or candles at some time in the past. Please use the photos as part of the description. This is a superb Cotswold School oak and coromandel wood book trough. The quality of this piece is so easy to see. It is so lavish and over the top with exposed construction. The additional use of contrasting luxury woods is further evidence that this was a top quality piece when it was made. The through tenons and contrasting foxwedges act as a real decorative feature. As do the stylish canted edges. The quality of this piece can be further seen with the fine mitre joint in the coromandel edging. I imagine that this piece was made around 1950. It very much looks like the work produced by Alan Peters when he was working and training at the Barnsley workshop. I cannot definitely attribute it to him though. It measures 15.75" long, 12" wide and 7.5" tall. It would be a great place to store CD's. It is in very good condition. ... moreThe only fault being a slithernick to an edge as seen in the images.
PLEASE READ SHIPPING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU EMAIL OR PLACE A BID. I have treasured this piece of furniture for many years. First in my grandma's house while growing up and then in my own home for about the past 30 years. I was told that it was custom-made and that it is one-of-a-kind. I would describe the style as subtle art deco. I have used it as a sideboard/credenza/buffet/chest as well as storage in an office, where it received constant compliments. It is wonderfully well-made in a very subtle art deco/craftsman/eclectic design that will actually work well with and complement many styles of furniture, including mid-century modern, arts& crafts, Eames era, and craftsman. I have been told by a carpenter with knowledge of wood, that it is a fine grade of teak, with beautiful dovetailing and separations between the drawer compartments ... moreand cabinet sections. One of the two side drawers is lined with green felt and partitioned to accommodate serving pieces or silverware. On each side, under the small top drawers, is a door behind which is open storage with two levels. In the center are three drawers, one shallower drawer at the top and two deeper drawers below. It is designed so that the center section with the drawers is gracefully indented between a slightly wider section on each end, with the drawers and open storage. The corners solid wood top are gracefully rounded, as is the place where the center section curves out to meet the wider sides. The hardware is beautifully simple and well designed. It is in very good to excellent vintage/antique condition. With smoothly sliding drawers and very little in the way of surface cosmetic concerns. All the joints are. Dimensions: Width is 62-1/2 inches. The two outer sections are 21 inches deep. The center section is 19-1/2 inches deep. Height is 33-3/4 inches. Inside the doors.
