This is an old slavery era field tool; a field hand's machete. Sharpened on the inside of the curve. With a thinned blade tip for ease of handling. Rusted but sturdy condition. Still had its original urine tanned horse hair stuffed leather handle when I got it, but that has been lost in the course of several precipitous moves. All forged to shape, with hot-punched rivet holes in tang. Great memento of the brutal past, or good springy forged project blade. civil war era or earlier. Not a military fascine(facine) knife but could be hilted as one now that it has no handle.

It stands 10” tall to the top of the cover. 9-1/2” diameter on the cover and 10-1/2” diameter at the base. The cover is inscribed"E. F. Lane& Son Marlboro. Depot N.H. part of which has faded and is illegible. It has pine staves. Top and bottom boards, maple fingered bands and an ash handle with mushroom maple pivots. It has a nice old make-do string repair on the handle and traces of original red paint. The fingered bands are copper nailed with a copper staple on the end. The cover band is attached to the band with wooden pegs. Very nice condition. Solid and ready to display in a country décor. Rustic Barn Wood 4 foot Ladder Primitive Antique Quantity of ONE
This is for one primitive ladder made from old tobacco lath wood. It is 11.5 inches wide and 48 inches in height. It has six rungs and willl feature well worn edges and staining from years of use. It may have knots. Knot holes, well worn splits, I do the best to use good quality wood. One end may have a leg or both cut, the other will be worn. This is done to ensure that it will stand straight. This is our starting point for the ladders. And you can start here too. Absolutely gorgeous solid pine postmaster desk top mail sorter This would have been on a stand/base and been used by a Postmaster/clerk to sort mail in the Horse& Buggy days The gorgeous top nearly 1 inch thick I restored this piece with many. Many coats of a beautiful hand rubbed varnish, it showcases the gorgeous pine grains and many imperfections and character marks such as chipped/rough edges, nicks, screw holes, worn areas etc. They all give it an outstanding naturally aged patina and unique look There are several ink stains which I finished over. Very cool and very old. These were used for advertising during funeral processions and to denote special parking for the funeral directors. Had some sort of adhesive to attach to the vehicle or hearse. Not many of these left around I would guess. About 22 x 10 or so with dark green enamel and made of heavy cast metal.

~( Estate Find) Your buying a very old Antique Wooden Box with it's original hardware and patina. The leather handles are gone but I do still have some of the end pieces of the leather handle so that you can match the design of the leather handles. other then that everything else is Original and could use a good cleaning which I leave up to you. I did a mild cleaning just to get the dirt and dust off the box so I could get the true look/ photos of the wooden box. I'm not sure on what the box was used for it's kind of unusual Design. I think it could of been for a Musical Instrument or a wood worker Tool Box. The Approx. size of the outside of the box is 33"1/4 x 11"1/2 x 7"1/2 and The Approx. WT. is 20 LBS and does show it's Appropriate Cosmetic wear& Patina. The total size of the inside is approx. 32"x ... more10"1/2 x 6"1/2 This is not counting the shelf on the inside. This is over looking the self. Now if you count the shelf in the Dimensions, This will be below the shelf which will be the Available space below the shelf is approx. 32" x 6"1/2 x 6"1/2. There is scuffs/scratches. Nicks, dings, surface rust on metal parts, appropriate cracks for it's age, wear Marks, paint specs, age staining or water, pitting, missing a few tiny screw on the bottom and I do not have the key to lock or unlock the wooden box& I do not have a key for either lock. This wooden box is in it's Original Condition Other then a very mild cleaning I have not did a deep cleaning or altered the wooden box at all it looks the same way other then the light dust/dirt when I found it. This wooden box looks great the way it is or would look very Beautiful if it was Restored. From the little bit of Research that I did the box look to be made some where around 1850 to 1899, Thats the best that I can figure out. Antique Milk Can and Lid Refurbished ( Patriotic)
Antique/Vintage Milk Can and Lid with the flavor of patriotism(red/white/blue) that has been power washed. Sanded, rust jell remover applied, primed, and double painted with RUST-OLEUM SAIL BLUE 77248. SUNRISE RED 77628 AND VALSPAR SATIN WHITE 85001 which can be purchased at Lowe's. T his is a ten(10) gallon can that weighs appx. 28 lbs. with lid and total height appx. 27 inches. The Antique Dealer said the can was probably in the 1920/1930 era because of the drop down handles(a rarity) and an oval lid which is also a rarity. The milk can and lid is in very good condition as you can see in the photos and if you have any questions. Please ask prior to making an offer. There may appear to be some imperfections on this old can but was probably caused by the annealing process(cool down) after being removed from the furnace and is very common ... moreon some cans however this does not take away any sturdiness, texture, or construction of the can, only makes it more antiquish. The can is very sturdy. Would make a nice display for any area of the home, deck, garden, etc. and is something that could be enjoyed for a lifetime and always displayed on July 4 th. Flag Day, etc. and yes the flags are part of this deal. This old can shows its age and was lots of fun refurbishing. The oval lid actually has five(5) small holes where one can attach to the can is so desired so actually the lid just sits on top of the can unattached and appears to be the original lid for this old can. Th is Pair of Charming Folk Art Dolls of a woman holding a sack with a parsol at her feet and the man playing a bass are in very good condition for their age and for lasting as long as for being fragil e but still in remarkable condition in my opinion. The dolls hav e walnut painted heads with a wire frame with the man hav ing a handmade outfit and bass with feet of peanut shells. The woman has the same basic make-u p except her feet are of some nut s hell t hat has been blackened. She is missing some object she held in her left hand and has a paper mache parasol at her feet. Both dolls are on a wood base. I found faded newsprint in her bag written in German I believe these dolls were made in Germany or Austria. I am sending the bits of newsprint with the dolls. Neck& top piece hand applied. Oft times when cork was removed. Some chips were left around the mouth of the bottle- as in this case. Olive black color when held to light. UNIQUE PRIMITIVE nail keg.this nicely aged keg is in good condition. It stands about 17" tall and 10 3/4" in diameter. Bottom is intact. Metal bands also present in rusty condition but there! Up for auction is this fabulous antique Fruit or Vegetable Peeler/ Parer or Madonline. This old heavy cast iron kitchen tool has a beautiful ornate C Clamp used to clamp it onto a counter edge. With a top blade made from a sharpened piece of metal to use for peeling or to julienne vegetables or fruit. It measures about 4 1/2" tall, and 3 1/2" wide. This amazing peeler was recently discovered in an early home that was originally built for a Sea Captain. Initially I thought this piece was a wood working tool, but was told by the family that it was a peeler. It looks like it could have also been used to thinly slice(julienne) This wonderful antique kitchen tool is in excellent condition. It is complete and has no cracks or chips.
