Antique Tall Stool Primitive Oak Wood 23" Round Seat 4-Leg Bench
ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE OAK WOOD 23-1/2" HIGH STOOL This primitive round seat four-leg solid oak wood stool was recently found in a Prince George County. Virginia estate. It measures 23-1/2" tall with a top diameter of 14-1/2" At the base. The four splayed legs span 15" It features four turned splayed wood legs. 8 original stretchers, and the original varnish now very dark from age. This very nice stool shows its age with lots of wear on the bottom stretchers and the old original finish being worn and crackled. The finish is completely worn away on the top side of all lower stretchers and the top of the seat. It remains in very good condition. The legs are secure to the top. Old Medium-Sized Cherokee Indian Splint Oak Gathering Basket w/ Walnut Stripes
Up for auction is a beautifully crafted medium-sized vintage Cherokee Indian berry or egg gathering basket. It has beautiful detailing. Its most distinctive feature is wrapped oak pedestal base on the underside for the basket to rest on- it was probably made this way to hold the basket up off the ground. The basket also features a whittled bentwood oak handle. And a bentwood oak frame. The basket also has three of the unique Cherokee locking splints- one on the base. One on the rim, and one on the pedestal foot. The weaver also added dyes of walnut and butternut as accents. This beautifully woven vintage Cherokee Indian splint oak basket will make a terrific addition to someone's collection. The basket. As noted, is a nice medium size for one of these Cherokee oak baskets. It measures 7" across at the rim, 5" deep, and 9" ... moretall to the top of the handle. The basket is in really nice condition, with no breaks, holes, or missing splints, including on the rim or the pedestal base. Its only possible flaw is that if you look carefully at the inside of the basket you can see some faint water marks, but this doesn't detract at all from the basket's awesome display quality. See photos, as they give a true picture of the basket's features and condition. It's a very nice old Cherokee Indian splint oak basket, and it makes a beautiful piece for display. The cage-like device had a protruding metal plate to hold the tongue down. And was often used as a punishment on women that were deemed to be gossips, or just plain old argumentative. The local magistrate would usually be the one who ordered the bridle to be worn, and the woman would be sentenced to wear it anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Most bridles had a chain which meant the woman could be led through the streets and subsequently shamed into correcting her behaviour. She could also be chained to a post, or wall, in a popular area of the town so she could be humiliated by the passers- by and it wasn't uncommon for the woman to be verbally abused, and even beaten, whilst she was wearing the bridle. They were also purchased for use in the workhouses for the women who disobeyed orders, and in other cases it would be the husband that handed out the punishment to a nagging wife. This is not a common washboard. If you search the internet. Only a few Enamel King Washboards are out there. This was made in 1915. It does show signs of use. The blue enamel is still in tact but does show some spots of rust. The opposite side also shows spots of rust. There is some water staining on the wood which is to be excepted. The approximate measurements are 24" tall by 12 3/8" wide. The top board is 2" wide and the sides of the wash area are 1 1/4" wide. It measures 10-1/2" tall including the lid. With a diameter of 6-1/8" at the base and 4-3/8" at the top. The pail remains in good condition. It shows dents. But the bail handle is firmly attached, the interior is clean, and the lift lid with its pull fits snugly and is easily removed. It has darkened some with age. Antique 19th Century Green Four Legged Stool
This was the type of construction where the legs were inserted into the top. This top board was scooped out in the middle of the upper side and tapered at the ends of the back side. Nail holes around the perimeter indicated that this stool was upholstered at some time in its history. The dark green was painted over yellow. It measures 12 3/4 inches in length. 5 3/4 inches wide, and 7 1/2 inches high The condition is very sturdy but has chipped paint as can be seen in the photos If you are into footstools you may want to consider this 19th century example.

Antique Painted Pine Footstool
This was the"five board" type stool. The legs. Which made up two of the boards,are attached to the top by wedged tenons. see photo 9 and photo 10) At a later date, the two boards both split into at least two pieces and had to have the small braces attached to the inside of the legs. see photo 8) The apron was an extension of the sides to act as a bracket under the top. Origionally there was a double reverse curve in the middle of the apron but there was only one curved section left. see photo 1) And that could be used as a pattern if needed) The dark green paint is old but not origional. It has the dry look that some collectors like. Check out photo 6-The bottom of the apron on one side is painted green meaning both curved section were already broken off. While the opposite side has one of the curved sections broken off after it ... morewas painted. This piece is 7 1/2 inches high. 14 1/2 inches long, and 7 inches wide. Besides the above mentioned flaws there was damage from use to the paint-worn and chipped. If you are into stools this is an old one-early 19th century.

Colorful Folk Art Wall-Hung Shelf From a farm sale we attended several years ago. We were told that this had been made in the late 19th century by a settler to Central Nebraska. Total height is 12" tall. The finely-cut back is from one piece of 5/8" thick veneered wood; the front shelf and support are matching wood. But 1/2" thick. This is something we bought for ourselves. We decided to make a chalkboard out of it. The back of the frame has 2 holes cut out for hinges which does not harm the frame in any way. This listing is for an air variable tuning condensor for the aforementioned 1927 model Neutrawound"Super Power" battery set. Comes complete with original hardware. Capacitance range has been measured at 13pf to 250pf. ± 2pf. I have three available. All in basically identical condition. I will take photos of the other two upon request. Capacitor has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. It is solid brass aside from steel 1/4" shaft and some hardware.
