Antique handpainted strawberry picture in excellent condition. I recently had the picture professionally reframed primitive style with museum glass and archival lined. The picture measures 5 inches x 5 inches with the frame measuring 6.50 inches wide x 6.50 inches high x 1 inch deep. The picture was originally in a book that was damaged and this was one of the exceptional pictures that could be salvaged. This is NOT a reproduction. Unique Antique Folk Tramp Art Americana Leather Brass Hardware Primitive Box #2
Offering for auction this very old tramp/folk art heavy recipe/index card box. It is composed of layers of leather fit together with stitching. Screws and rivets. It has brass(some copper also) metal accents of screws, hinges, trunk corners. The box measures approximately 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 3 3/8" and does show some age wear but is in overall good condition(please refer to images) for it's age. The leather top has cracks while the brass has oxidation(from moisture? My mom bought this for me from an estate sale over 20 years ago and was told at the time that this was circa 1900's to 1930's. It's a great primitive hand made depression era piece of folk art. I will also be listing it's companion box which is more of a letter/glove box size which you can see in the last photo. Mom and her babies are made from tea dyed muslin with mom's body being made from a calico print. The ears of mom are wired and her eyes painted and nose and mouth stitched with a felt muzzle and a spray of white yarn sparkle hair. Her wings are muslin and hand stitched around the outside edge. The hands and feet have been needle sculpted with black thread. She has a pink and white check bow under her chin. The babies faces have been painted on and a bow around their necks. A rusty wire is twisted and made so you can hand her up neatly. Her length is about `12" and top to bottom about 7" This was made using a pattern by Happy Heart patterns. I have up for auction an antique Dazey Bevel Edge Butter Churn 2 Qt. size. I understand these are hard to find with bevel edges. Dazey Mfg. made these butter churns between 1907 and 1912. It has the horseshoe style embossed lettering Dazey Churn& Mfg. Company St. Louis. MO. around the front of the glass, The handle looks to be original. There is a#20 stamped on the cast iron frame an a#40 stamped on the gear. The bottom of the glass shows a#20 embossed. There is a slight pinkish hue to the glass. The lid has the indented upper thread. and there are four wooden paddles which look good. There are small chips around the rim of the butter churn. There are no cracks on the glass. please look at photos) One cannot see them when the lid is on. The glass measures 8" tall and 4 3/4" wide without the lid. Went to the flea market, and still have some items from the weeks ago farm estate auction- there’s lots of neat stuff that you don‘t want to miss! Here's a unique old piece. It's a metal wall mount match holder with what appears to be a farm garden scene. There's a fence in the front with flowers on either side of a two doored gate. On top of the gate on the right sits and owl. In front of the gate on the left ground is a dog and a rabbit- it looks like they are playing with each other. You can see birds flying in the background at the back. The piece made from a silver cast metal and it has an old dark copper finish on it that is very worn- you can see lots of peeks of ... morethe silver metal in the high relief spots. It's small. Measuring 2 1/2" wide, 1" deep at the holder, 1 3/4" tall at the front of the holder and 2 7/8" tall at the back. A tree branch reaches out from the back left and curves up and around to form the nitch from which you hang the piece on your wall screw or nail. It's meant to hold small(not the long fireplace ones) regular sized matches. It weighs a little over 1/4 lb and is in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition. In addition to the finish wear, there's minor scratches and scrapes consistent with age. Check out the patina on the back- it's dark to the point of black in some spots. Hello and thank you for stopping by. What happens when you peel away 7 layers of paint? This awesome shabby window shutter turned coat rack. This is an early 1900's window shutter which happens to be the other half of the raised panel shutter in another listing. It has seven layers of peeling paint that I added and chipped away to give it that shabby look we all love. I then added some vintage inspired acorn tipped coat hooks to give it an authentic look. I also added a shelf above for extra storage and sealed the deal with some cast iron brackets. This coat rack is a touch over 41 1/2 inches long and about 8 1/2 inches tall and it's about 6 3/4 inches deep. The hooks are about 3 inches tall and stick out about 2 1/2 inches from the wood. For sale is a Very Rare 1890's Postal Cabinet. I believe that the cabinet is made of"Yellow" or"Hard" Pine. The piece has been in my grandfathers house for 75+ years and is in good usable condition. There are a few damage spots on the piece. The back left leg broke and was repaired(see pics) all of the hard ware is original. But it looks that 4 of the mounting screws have been replaced. Early treen treenware wooden lignum vitae covered jar
Very early lignum vitae covered jar. The pictures don't show the grain of the wood. I wish I'd taken better ones. The top has a place where there must have been a knothole, and someone tried to patch it with something, that has since turned brown(must have been done a long time ago) also the knob on top has a 2 chips out of it. Early and Large Taconic Swing Handdle Basket
This sale is for a very fine large and early Taconic Indian basket with a swing handle. It is 8" tall(to the rim) and 12" in diameter. It is in superb condition. The only fault I can find is a little bit of varmit chewing on the end of one handle, see the photo. There are no breaks or repairs. It has a wonderful patina. I do not know how to date these baskets, my feeling is late nineteenth/early twentieth century. The patina extends to the bottom edge and the bottom is bright in color not being exposed to sunlight. Antique Christmas Sleigh and Grapevine Reindeer - Vintage - NICE!
We purchased this antique sleigh from an antique shop in Traverse City. MI for $1200 and to it we added a new full-size grapevine reindeer. We were told it was from the Saskatchewan province in Canada. All of the parts and much of the paint appears to be original. We love the patina! For 10 years we have put it out for a few weeks at Christmas, filled it with packages and dressed it with lights, to the delight of the neighborhood. Early Primitive Antique 1800s Hand Made Kitchen Chopper Forged Iron Wood Handle
Early Primitive Antique 1800s Hand Made Kitchen Chopper Forged Iron Wood Handle Busybusybusy treasure hunting week for you. I shopped at a closing antique store. Went to the flea market, and still have some items from the weeks ago farm estate auction- there’s lots of neat stuff that you don‘t want to miss! I have some awesome early antique kitchen primitives to list this week. And this 19th century beauty will not disappoint. It's a hand made kitchen chopper- with a wood handle that has a forged iron connection to the blade. I'm assuming that the blade is iron also- it not, it's steel, as a magnet sticks to it, but it just makes sense that it would be iron. As you can see from my photos, the curved"smile" of the blade is slightly off exactly round, and one side is just a smidge narrower in height than the other- all ... morepart and parcel of being hand made. It measures 5 5/16" wide at the blade, 5 1/2" tall blade to handle end, and the end of the handle is 1 1/2" by 1" It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with looooooots of wear and patina from age. The patina on the handle is very dark, and it shows nibbles, nicks, scratches, scrapes, finish wear and dings. The iron has spots of surface rust covering it all over. They are surface only, with no holes, or eat throughs. There's small light pitting to the iron- mostly on the connection between the handle and the blade. The blade is actually still quite sharp! It weighs 1/4 lb. Please supersize and look at all for condition. It's strong, without a wiggle or jiggle, but it's very primitive and rustic- which is what I LOVE about it. 3 Early Primitive Tinware Torches/ Smudge / Oil Lighting-Great for Re-Enactors
Offered for Auction: 3 Primitive Tinware Cone Shaped Torches. I believe the cones would fit onto a pole or stick and the cone would hold oil with a rope wick. However this is speculative as I cannot find another example of these cones. The cone does not open so I do not believe these are molds and the soldered narrow cylinder does not go through the cone so I believe that end went onto a pole or into a holder. One cone contained the fibrous wick in the last photo and it will be included in the sale. The torches are in rough shape and are being sold as is. Condition: Poor given their age and use. The cones have surface and through and through rust which has caused a few holes so unless patched they will not hold oil. One cone's opening is very rough and has chipped away. The cones are bent out of shape. This is for 10 large tea and vanilla stained gift tags. I stamped images with sepia ink using mason jar stamp,adding Let It Snow and used 2 crystal colored rhinestones in the snowflake, the ties are also stained for that primitive look, has light scent not over powering. Tags are stiff and can be bent in flatter shape from the staining. They measure 4 3/4" x 2 3/8" Very cute for your primitive packages, labeling, scrapbooking, etc.
