Here is an empty vintage wooden shotshell crate of Loaded Shotgun Shells from the Robin Hood Ammunition Company. Swanton VT, for 12-ga shotshells, but the load is not imprinted on the box. The crate once held 20 boxes of Robin Hood shells. The crate is fingerjointed and the bottom is nailed. Outer dimensions are 15” x 9 ½” x 8 7/8” inner dimensions are 13 ¼” x 8 ½” x 8 1/4” One side panel is in excellent condition. The Robin Hood logo is clearly visible as are the other imprints. The opposite side panel is also clearly marked, but the Robin Hood logo is somewhat obscured by two knots in the wood. One end panel is clearly stamped, but the other end was imperfectly planed or dried and the wood has some fungal stain. Opening is on the wrong side for viewing but can easily be taken apart to correct. The other is Mel-O-Bit White American Cheese 2 lb Crate. It is a smaller box and part of one side is missing the top(about 1/2 inch) But the other sides look very good.
