I picked this up at a estate sale and it was disassembled. I provided the copper tubing which fit all the pieces perfectly and without modification. Everything is original patina and has no corrosion or pitting. Arrow measures 26" long. 22" tall from bottom of arrow to roosters comb. Small ball is 2-1/4" Large ball is 4-1/4" Directional is 22" x 18" and letters are 3-3/4" tall. Overall height is approx 48" but is adjustable depending on copper tube length. I think the proportions look great as is. Great, rare antique weathervane in great condition. PS. Beautifully Painted Ship Captain Weathervane with Stand
I am selling a beautifully painted handmade/hand painted iron ship captain weathervane with stand. It appears to be an antique from the way it was constructed(similar to others I've seen online) However based on the condition of the paint. Unless it was always kept indoors it is either more recent or repainted. There are some minor chips and one on the Captain's knee that's smaller than the size of a dime. However in my opinion they do not detract from the piece. The captain himself is 23" W(to the tip of the telescope) by 35" H. I am not an antique dealer or expert so I'll have to let the photos speak for themselves- however if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to answer to the best of my ability. Antique Smuggler Horse Weathervane Primitive Copper Farm Equestrian Memorabilia
Turn of the century weathervane 33" long of the famous horse Smuggler. He generally was depicted in weathervanes with his ribs showing so he is fairly easy to distinguish from others, small bullet hole in his right leg, numerous bb dings and a small dent in his front hoof, early rod ends are angled 45 degrees and capped proving age, a hundred years ago it was gold gilded with yellow sizing underneath, I can only speculate what it has gone through since but I can tell you it is has not had a recent applied gilt to look old nor is it a Good Direction fake as so many are these days, email any questions.

Weathervane of sheet iron trumpeter
The sheet iron trumpeter came from an estate outside of Atlanta. Georgia, in the 1970s. I would guess that it is at least 100 years old. The 3-legged lightning rod comes with it. I hope the photos do it justice. It would make a great addition to a folk art collection. The dimensions are: 34" wide X 14" high. With the lightning rod, it stands 74" high. He originally would have been on top of a building. But now he can go anywhere. He measures 16-1/2” high. With a wing span of 15” and the base is approximately 5-3/4” wide. He has been weighted down at the base with what looks to be plaster. He has very nice detail in an impressive pose. He has been gone over with some gold paint.
