This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in shirosaya mountings. The blade is signed"Hizen koku Omi daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro 肥前国住近江大掾藤原忠廣" Shinogi-zukuri shape. Muromachi period ca.1650 era made blade. The blade is in old full polish, no rust, no stain and in excellent condition. There is no nick, no bend and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy chusugu with nioi(crystal) active temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep turn back temper at the point. The forging grain is mokume-hada, no opening and no forging flaws. Habaki is gold foil copper habaki in good condition. It is rested in ho-wood shirasaya mountings. No crack, no bend and in good condition. It measures 21+3/4" cutting edge, 1+1/4" width, 6 mm thickness at the notch and 31+13/4" in mountings. This is a very nice example of a small Wakizashi Sword in Sira Saya which dates from the Shinto Era. It is mounted with a lovely blade that wears a cutting edge of 15 1/8 inches in length and from tip to tip measures 20 5/8 inches. The blade remains in nice polished condition and wears a beautiful straight temper line that extends to the tip on either side.and is mounted with a beautifll silver habaki.The tang has one hole with a signature and translates to"Geishu Ju FUYUHIRO" The Sira Saya(storage case) has survived in very nice. This is a Japanese sword wakizashi in mountings. The blade is signed"Banshu saka ju Minamoto Yoshikuni 播州大坂住源吉国" Shinogi-zukuri shape. Muromachi period ca.1560 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. There is no bend, no nick and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy suguba temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep turn back temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada, no openings no forging flaws. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard. No dent, no crack and in good condition. Handle is tight fit with brass fuchi horn kashira and matched copper menukis. Handle wrapping is no cut. For sale is this fine authentic antique japanese sword set with koshirae and shirasaya. The 17th century blade is in high quality mint polish with no scratches. Rust, nicks, very clean fine surface with nice color. The blade is very healthy. No forging flaw or damage to mention at all, nothing at all. The hada is very good and clearly showing all over. The true hamon is clearly visible having fine activities such as nie on nioi deki, kinsuji lines, dark grain lines, all reflect to the quality forge of this blade. The edge is very sharp, the tip is healthy with distinctive nice strong boshi. The tang is slightly shortened still bearing 90% of the long signature. I did not have time to have it fully translated but it is a Nobukuni blade from the 1600's. There is authentic(with water mark shown on picture) NBTHK paper authenticating the ... moresignature and giving more information about the smith and blade, the winner should have it translated on a sword forum for the full information but most likely will get the full name of a good Nobukuni smith. Original Japanese Wakizashi Samurai Sword from 1655. Blade 22 15/16" long. Temper line is billowing doran or"deep gully wavy gonome" Sword has 4 mon. 3 are the same, 4th is different. The 3 mon indicate the importance of one clan. Fuchi and Hashira are matching, but sword was swored where the Kashira rusted. Mei(inscription reads Bi shu ju Ho sho Fuji Wara Mune Haru. Bishu is the province, Hosho is the town, Fujiwara is the sword maker's surname, Muneharu is the smith's given name. The smith can be found on P.240 in Hawley's blue book set. The smith is listed as MU21, active date of 1655(Meiryaku Era) Shinto sword period. He is rates as a 10 point smith. The Tsuba has gold inlay, 2 piece Habaki, matching Menuki, wrap on the Tsuka is in good shape but most of the Same is missing. Authentic Japanese Wakizashi KATANA SWORD 1615-1629 + WW2 SAMURAI SWORD 1945
This Authentic Japanese Wakizashi Sword in koshirae. This nicely curved light and swift 17th century(1615-1629) shinto blade is in good polish showing strong vivid hamon and boshi. The condition of the blade is also good, no noticeable crack or flaw, rust etc. The blade has some fighting marks on the side of the mune(top side of the blade) These are called honor marks and not considered a flaw, also some tiny nail catchers on the edge, nothing big or deep. Those days in crowded towns self protection was crucial. And fast to draw, light, medium sized sharp blades were the best choice for urban fight and self defense against sudden attack, this blade certainly done its job well judging from the marks left behind. The tang is signed: Iga(no) kami Kinmichi Iga no Kami Kinmichi 伊賀守金道 Kinmichi Yamashiro. Wazamono, Kinmichi 金道, Iga(no) Kami Kinmichi ... more伊賀守金道, Iga(no) Kami Fujiwara Kinmichi 伊賀守藤原金道. Seki Kanemichi's eldest son, Kinmichi, received the title of"Iga(no) Kami" on 2/19/1594 and worked for the emperor. Before the war of Seki Ga Hara, Kinmichi made arrangements to have one thousand tachi made for Tokugawa Ieyasu's war preparation. After Ieyasu won the war, it's only natural he would reward Kinmichi. He received the title of"Nihon Kaji Sosho" from Ieyasu. The title means, master of Japanese swordsmiths" It also gave Kinmichi the authority to register swordsmiths and give them titles. He died on 12/11/1629, but his family retained this privilege for generations. The Edo koshirae is very good and unique in some features. The saya is covered with compressed leather and lacquered to black, the top area has nice red stripes ribbed and lacquered, this is a unique way for a saya, it has a better grip this way for sure. The saya has a realy nice butt fitting called kojiri made from copper nicely decorated with flower theme but the best thing is that it is delicately signed also, which is especially rare. Early Edo period wakizashi in fresh polish - japanese samurai sword
Up for sale is a nice wakizashi from the early Edo period in very good polish from my personal collection. The blade comes in a nice shirasaya with horn parts(see pictures) and a solid silver habaki. I acquired the blade in Japan some years ago but it now has to go for a new investment. The blade does not have any nicks. Bends or hagire– there is also no rust.
