Original antique signed SAMURAI SWORD. Lost papers:o( Zunächst muß ich gestehen. Daß ich keine Fachfrau für japanische Schwerter bin, sondern daß es mir vor 7 Jahren von meinem Onkel zur Hochzeit geschenkt wurde! Mein Onkel war ein Sammler japanischer Schwerter und Antiquitäten und hat mir damals gesagt, daß es sich hierbei um ein sehr wertvolles Schwert eines berühmten Schmiedes handelt. Auf der Angel der Klinge sind mehrere japanische Schriftzeichen zu sehen, die ich jedoch nicht entziffern kann(falls irgendjemand dazu etwas weiß. bittebittebitte mir mitteilen! Mein Onkel hat mir dringend aufgetragen, es immer mit Vorsicht zu behandeln und regelmäßig einzuölen. Ich habe dafür stets Olivenöl benutzt und es hat sich auch nie Rost gebildet. Er hat mir dazu auch einen Umschlag ... moremit einem gefalteten japanischen Papier(viele Schriftzeichen und ein Bild vom Schwert, soweit ich mich erinnern kann! gegeben, den ich gut aufbewahren sollte. leider müssen die Papiere wohl bei einem Umzug verloren gegangen sein, da ich sie nicht mehr finden kann. Sollten sie doch noch auftauchen, schicke ich sie dem Käufer gerne zu, falls gewünscht! Der Zustand ist soweit ich das beurteilen kann TOP mit minimalen dem Alter entsprechenden Gebrauchsspuren. Man kann die Faltung im Stahl gut erkennen und man sieht an der Schneide eine dünne gerade Linie. Die mein Onkel als ´Härtelinie´(ist das der richtige Ausdruck dafür? bezeichnete. Leider ist es mir nicht so gut gelungen, das zu fotografieren. Ich hoffe, man kann trotzdem ein paar Details erkennen. Alle Teile der Montierung sind antik und dürften original sein. Zur Klinge gibt es noch eine Extrascheide aus Holz. Bitte vor Gebotsabgabe beachten. This is a Japanese WWll Army kamikaze pilot or tank crew's sword in mountings. The blade is unsigned. Shinogi-zukuri shape. Edo period ca.1700 era made old family wakizashi blade. The blade is in old polish, shows light staines but no rust and in good condition. There is no nick, no crack temper and cutting edge is sharp. The temper line is wavy doranba with yakidashi temper throughout the blade and has ko-maru temper at the point. Forging grain is itame-hada. Shows tiny coarse forging(see in#12 photo) but no forging flaws. The scabbard is leather covered wood scabbard, no cut, no crack, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit with copper fuchi/kashira, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut. No loose and in good condition. ITEM DESCRIPTION This is an interesting small Japanese sword. Fresh from an old estate. This is clearly signed. But I don't know what the signature says. The blade is mostly in polish. But the tip has a tiny break at the tip. The saya is lacquered with raised gold lacquer forming plant like decorations. ITEM MEASUREMENTS This sword measures about 19" long. Complete blade is about 15 3/4" long. Cutting edge is about 12 3/4" long. THIS ITEMS CONDITION REPORT This is in good as-found condition. The handle needs re-wrapping. And the menuki are missing. The tip has a small chip at the tip. But lots of temper, so it can be reshaped. Some parts are clearly not original to the blade. But they work. ITEM WEIGHT This weighs about 1/2 lb. before packing. This wakizashi is signed ECHIZEN DAIJO MINAMOTO KUNISADA a noted Japanese smith from around 1688 to 1750's. The blade is solid with lots of meat and no detectable forging flaws such as hagire. Fire damage, or cracks of any kind. It will polish out beautifully. The blade is heavy and hefty!As an extra bonus to the sword is the great fittings! The handle is a light brown color with simple fuchi kashira with patterned designs. The menuki are a paired gold dragon. The two menuki do appear to be real gold and not a bronze or lighter metal. Excellent look to them as you can see in the photographs. The sword is also dated HACHI GATSU KICHI(YOSHI) NICHI A Fine Day in August. The scabbard or saya is done in same called a samedashi saya in great shape it ... moreeven has the kojiri of iron on the bottom and everything was protected by the WWII leather scabbard. The temper line is wavy notare with kinsuji(crystal) active temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep turn back temper at the point. Wakizashi sword that has old polish and a wonderful Hamon on both sides of the Hada. Sword and fittings are from the Edo period(early 19th century) Sword is not signed and in excellent condition. Tsuba is iron with gold inlay. Tsuba is rare in fashion. Signed and has beautiful etchings and open carvings of leaves. Tsuka is wrapped with silk Ito with ray-skin. Menuki's look to be a Tanuki animal. Saya is banded and in good condition but has small cracking at the sayajiri. Gokatana has rust on the small blade and on the kozuka a dragon design. For sale is this shinto period Japanese wakizashi sword in koshirae and shirasaya set. The 16-17th century blade has a sharp quality polish showing great details. There is a few small scratch and kizu but overall a very nice pleasing blade with fine hada and hamon showing great activities and forms, pictures can not give it back, the tip is nice and the boshi is delicately tempered like wind blown long flames covered by small nie crystals, very nice boshi. There is horimono engraving on the blade. One side has a buddhist symbol, the other side is showing Fudo Myo god, protector of Buddhism holding a ken sword and ropw in a halo of flames. The tang is unshortened with original hole and patination. There is a signature but it's not translated yet. The blade is housed with nicely worked gold washed copper habaki and good shirasaya. Japanese Wakizashi Sword signed Ippo
Japanese Wakizashi sword in mountings. Signed" Ippo" Late 1600 era Edo or older period made family blade. In original old polish having no rust or stain in near excellent condition. Blade has bohi engravings and a single character engraved on the blade. The temper line is wavy notare through out the blade with O-maru temper at the kissaki. There is no forging defects. Cracks, nicks and not bend, and remained sharp. Please refer to the photos for the Boshi Pattern. Although not clearly shown and would not do justice by my Amateur photography. The scabbard is colored black lacquered wood with no crack and in overall good condition( It s wrapped in a protective plastic as shown in the photos) Also with brass hanger ring.The Handle is tight and complete with Seppas with the Fuchi showing a bird motiff. Japanese WW2 Naval Sword, Wakizashi, Tassel
Japanese WW2 Naval Wakizashi with its original tassel. The tang is ubu and is mumei. The blade's cutting edge is 18 3/8" The temper line is very active and beautiful. There is a very tiny knick in the edge and there are a couple of smaller than a pin head sized pits near the edge. The scabbard is in great condition. There is a bit of original gilding on the fittings. The top suspension mount is cracked. The handle. Handle wrapping and tassel are in great condition. The tsuba is three piece and there are four seppa. The tsuka under the fuchi. The fuchi, the four seppa and the three piece tsuba all have the same stamp on them. This is a very rare.
